  1. We are five games without a win in the league. If we go to six league games without a win plus out the cup then the manager needs a win in one of the next three league games to keep his job.

  2. I think we are now seeing why mcginley starts before Carroll

  3. Alexander fucked it up with that stupid formation...we had no outball, no pace, no width, and zero creativity

  4. It would be way more exciting if Celtic and Rangers buggered off down south and we had a league that just about anyone could genuinely win.

  5. Because of how they influence everything to do with Scottish Football. There is nothing better than being able to give one or both of them a bloody nose. The fact we havent been able to do it for so long when others have been able to is quite depressing.

  6. Tierney and Efford looking busy and have made an improvement

  7. Getting beat by a better team isn’t an issue. Being defensively at sea without a clue of how we would like to ask questions ourselves is a fucking shambles when you play in the same league

  8. Shambles dont talk pish, Yes we could have defended better but we are getting ripped a new one by a far superior team playing at a pace we can't live with, keep it respectable 2nd half and move on to next week.

  9. A wee boy that volleys an equaliser from a bouncing ball in only his 2nd or 3rd game. A finish that Messi would be proud of. Efford has had half a game FFS. Today was depressing no doubt but some of the crap on here is well to be fully expected. Never met such a bunch of pant wetters in my life. We are still 4th and yes we will probably fall out of the top 6 before we get some (on paper) easier games. Reading the sh1te on here is more depressing than the result. I am a way back to P&B for some reasoned debate / chat.

  10. Sitting back and letting the current most expensive gathering of footballers in Scotland pass the ball out from the back and playing pretty passing games/1-2s/ tippy tippy wank boy football…..not closing down/ realising that we weren’t rectifying it …is shocking management/tactics…….could have easily surpassed and should have surpassed our record home defeat 0-7 unfortunately to these c@nts i don’t think there is any Motherwell fan either in the ground/ didn’t bother to come/watching the game on tv thought we were going to get anything from this game after reading the team sheet prior to the game or 70 seconds when we should have been one down GA has saved us from relegation last season, which is always my goal since the 80’s relegation……. Thankfully we have amassed 30 odd points this campaign and by teams being equal/ more shite than us recently we have clung on to 4 th place in the league, don’t see us maintaining that position for much longer and dread to think of the consequences of the next few weeks Obviously the financial gap between ugly sisters and the rest of Scotland is and has been become massively uncompetitive for a number of years which our governing bodies don’t give a fu@k about as long as the blue and green hordes are happy we had free hit today and tactically shat the nest with an unbelievable spineless performance on and off the pitch forgot to mention our master class in attacking long throw-in’s……….WTF FFS!!!!!!!!

  13. The formation was a shambles today. It was terrible on Tuesday and we gave Celtic advance notice of it. Alexander needs a result in either of the next two games, if not the pressure is on Alexander and Burrows for extending him.

  14. Tells us what we already know Dave ,the old firm are streets ahead of us, Rangers beat us 1-6 at home earlier in the season. Doesn’t make it any less disappointing though. That’s us gave both halves of the ugly sisters two of there biggest wins of the season on our home patch……depressing.

  16. I've been pretty critical of the 4-3-3 but at least players knew their position. In last few weeks we've been all over the shop. No idea why Carrol has been brought back into the team. At one point it was obvious that a combo of Ojala, Solholm or Mugabi was our strength in the centre of defence. Be good to move back to that asap.

  17. He can’t persist with KVV as the 1 man up top. He Has to change to a more mobile player or a different system.

  18. I think that’s a fair comment tbh. If we are sitting here in a fortnights time still without a league win since the break and out of the cup (which is a distinct possibility) then it’s only fair that the managers position come under question.

  19. I don't think he's under any pressure but alexander needs to start putting a settled team on the park, there far to much chopping and changing being done.we really need to find a bit of form from somewhere or our season could unravel pretty quickly.

  21. The fact that Celtic lost twice in the league last term to anyone other than Rangers during "their worst season in over a decade" kinda shows how massive the gap is. Between them they have lost 5 league matches in the last 126, excluding defeats to each other. Our points total from the Old Firm over the last two seasons is pretty typical for a non city club Livingston 7pts from 5 results Ross County 4pts from 2 results St Mirren 3pts from 1 result Motherwell 2pts from 2 results St Johnstone 2pts from 2 results Kilmarnock 1pt from 1 result Hamilton 1pt from 1 result

  22. That’s an easy comparison to make it was the manner of defeat that hurts

  23. Why the obsession with our record against the old firm? Doesn’t matter who we beat, we get 3 points. So what, if other teams have a better record against the OF, the goal is to have as many points as possible at the end of the season as in top 6. We should be worried about how we are playing in general. Yes, I am happy to be in 4th spot after 25 games but obviously we need to start picking up points again to stay there. Would be nice to start against Utd in mid week.

  24. The growing gulf between the big two and ourselves gets more depressing by the year but there’s not much we can do about it with the widening finances. Specific to today, we were up against a Celtic team that’s in a very good place just now so it’s not a performance to dwell on. It’s vital though that we get a response to our dip in form at Tannadice, then follow it up against Aberdeen. The challenge for Alexander is finding the shape and personnel that can carry a threat going forward post Watt. I’d be surprised if we persist with the box in midfield any longer, I’d revert to 433 or 4312 and get some pace and creativity back in the team.

  25. For me it was a toss-up between Kelly and cornelius, went for Cornelius as he put in a great shift, never stopped probably deserves a run in the team.

  26. Not a great deal. Unless Celtic played the same eleven in every one of their away games and they played equally well in each. I know the argument would be that we allowed them to play that well today, but you have to factor in the opponent's form when you compare results. Right now was the wrong time to play them.. On a more general point, is our form against the Old Firm appalling? Yes...

  27. Celtic are a million miles better than us in terms of budget, players and ability but on top of that they out fought and out muscled us at every opportunity. Alexander hung the club out to dry with that starting 11 and formation. We never laid a glove on them and allowed them to play. The 3 centre midfielders were nothing short of dreadful first half not supporting KVV and not getting back to help defence -caught in no mans land continually- they actually didn’t know what to do but they certainly allowed McGregor all the space in the world and everything went through him - they made him look world class. Why did Alexander not see this and put someone on him man for man - probably because he is too stubborn to admit his own mistakes. Why not pick play 442 and pick the best players we have for that formation , try be solid at the back, competitive in the middle and a basic threat up front. That might mean some of his chums in SOD, Goss, Donnelly and Carroll or Mcginley miss out but f**k me that today I’m afraid lacked effort desire and some know how on basic footballing awareness and tactics. Alexander overall has done ok in terms of keeping us in the league but he would get football stopped with his tactics and lack of entertainment . Boosting of 3.5 million profit after a massive loan and Turnbull money isn’t anything to shout about when we have a squad of conference level players at very best with hearts the shape of polo mints.

  28. We never seem to have a plan against the OF at home. Tactically we gamble on seeing out the first 45-60 minutes before really having a go. It was clear to see we were riding our luck and betting on Celtic running out of steam. Rarely it works, usually you end up getting beat 1-6 or 0-4. Another pathetic surrender to the old firm at our own ground.

  30. Really poor from us today,we know we're playing a team with better players, that's nothing new it's always been the case but the last thing we should be doing is making it far to easy for these better players, nobody can stop you running about on the park but there was to many occasions where our players just seemed to be strolling about rather than busting a gut to do basic stuff.since coming back from the break we look like a team that's struggling for fitness, there's to many players look out on there feet by about 60 minutes,I know we had a covid outbreak on the lead up to the county game, could that be the cause.

  31. So both of them have had their biggest away wins of the season against us. Yes they have better players than us, but mentality is 100% a contributory issue here. We are beaten before a ball is kicked in these games and as soon as we go behind our heads just drop. Celtic were excellent today and scored some superb goals, but they will get easier training sessions than that.

  32. We used to give the Old Firm a game when they came to Fir Park. Not now. How I long for the days when we got stuck in and were in their faces. All the Old Firm need to do now (and most others teams) is wait on us making a mistake. Its all so predictable.

  33. If you are are trying you track back, mark you men. Put it on the line. Its so easy to hide in this fixture and say well they are just too good for us . Its the basics were not doing. Supporters expect more in these fixtures

  35. We're seeing here why Jake Carroll hasn't been playing left back very much. Woeful. We've been undone by some good play at times, but that third was a joke. Cornelius has looked good, and has made some decent forward passes. Other than that there's not much to say. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

  36. Firstly we must acknowledge that this is, in the main, a case of us being well beaten by a far superior side with players of a level of quality we could only dream of. However that does not excuse Donnelly yet again switching off at the crucial moment as he did for the first and the clueless set up overall. This could be a record defeat here.

  40. Game over, I’m sure individual Motherwell players will get stick but that’s simply down to the difference in the quality of players. The run for the first goal and the strike for the second were all about what Celtic did right, not what we did wrong. Looking at a possible heavy defeat now.

  43. Add in Slattery Goss and Kvv , don’t mind getting beat by a superior team but some our players effort left a lot to be desired . GA hung Carroll and McGinlay out tae dry they came down our left at will . We need to get back to playing players in positions they are comfortable in and not because our manager thinks he’s a tactical genius
