  2. Can’t believe some posters want to keep playing Slittery in midfield. Him and Goss should never get near the first team ever again.

  3. Agree with that. Ok for bowling club but not for pro football teams. Love to have a Soudi Billionaire well fan.

  4. It’s been obvious for quite a while now that Hammell is completely out of his depth. Bringing in 9 players in the last transfer window of the season is just sheer panic. I doubt that any club has ever brought in as many players as that in an entire season! As for those “running” the club, it’s been obvious since they punted Alexander that they too were out of their depth. They should’ve been questioning Hammell as to why he thought it necessary to bring in as many players at this stage of the season, but they just let him plough on. For me, today was the final straw. I thought it was bad against St. Johnstone, and it was but Hammell’s reading and management of today’s game was just embarrassing. Making 6 subs albeit one for an injury, with 20 mins to play, shows just how lost he really is. He made 3 subs after 10 mins of the 2nd half going from 2 up to 1 up when we were 1-0 down and the performance deteriorated as the players didn’t seem to understand what he was trying to do. Thereafter, it just descended into farce and it was obvious, to me anyway, that the team had switched off. Sure all the stats show we are bad; however for me, the true indictment on Hammell is that there’s been absolutely no discernible improvement in the team’s performance under his tenure - not even small incremental ones - and sadly, there is nothing there to suggest that this is going to change. If Hammell can’t see that, perhaps because he’s too close to the coal face, then the board must step in, point this out to him and remove him.

  5. I’ve just had one of those motivational quotes come up on my Facebook feed saying ‘the more you hurt, the more you grow’, I must be about 12 foot tall after the last two games

  6. As I’ve said many times on here - Goss and Slattery should’ve been shown the door a long time ago and still Hammell keeps picking them! Right on cue Slattery fucks up!!

  7. Well thats the last peice of the jigsaw puzzle in place. You may not rate Hammy. You may think the board are shite. You may think that these players are still shite and we are doomed to relegation anyway. But you can no longer say Hammy didnt know what the problems were or the board havent backed him in addressing them. Now we need to see a reaction. Lets do our bit.

  8. 4-4-2 against an Aberdeen midfield 3/5? Overrun from the off? I’d be matching up in the midfield with a hard press as we did earlier in the season. Regardless of our current form, opportunity to use the crowd in our favour. And no McGinn.

  10. Ross County basically swapped their whole squad round at the January window a few years back. Our defensive record is absolutely atrocious. Last time I counted we'd lost 10 games by 1 goal and have 5 draws so if we'd done better defensively we'd be in a much better position. 1 clean sheet in 15 matches says it all. Our players go on to the field knowing they have to score two goals to even have a chance of a win. Our last four results are 1-1, 0-1, 0-2, 1-3 so they are progressively getting worse. Also a bit worrying that we've played 3 different formations in the last 4 matches for no positive effect.

  11. Went for O'Donnell because as shite as we were, he showed some nuts and made a fist of it in a position he should never have been in. I'm not going to slate any player for that shit show today, that was a display that smacked of "please sack me" from the manager.

  14. Changing to 3-5-2 when we have one fit centre half tells me Hammell has completely lost it.

  15. The management of the club has been absolutely shambolic for at least a year now. Allowing the previous manager to oversee such a dismal return in the second half of last season, extending his contract and then to start this season in charge only for him to oversee a European embarrassment and then chuck it on the eve of the season. And then we appoint the academy coach who has no senior management experience experience, allow him to bring in two ex players who had barely been on a football pitch in the last two years and six months down the line we are staring relegation in the race for the first time in nearly forty years. It has been an absolute clusterfuck of a year for us as a club.

  16. Not a bad shout mate , although many wouldn’t want Yogi , at least he’s got managerial experience, and could surely organise the team better. Hate to see what’s happening to Hammell, but it’s time to go . We’re only 3 points of 9th place and I know we’re rank rotten at the moment ,but a new gaffer with some know how might at least give us a fighting chance.

  17. If Hammy goes I would have no problem with yogi, I mean we made a boo boo appointing Hammell (sorry folks). Yogi decent record but seems to get judged a lot on how he speaks (bit like Martindale). Yogi would kick arses and hey if it doesn't work at least we tried

  18. I am absolutely raging at the board and management of our club. Hammell should never have been given the job and should have been punted after he stood with his hands in his pockets as we threw away a two goal lead against 10 man Kilmarnock. We then keep him to the window and allow him to bring in 9 players with no rhyme or reason to his choices. The line up today was a joke. We should have tried 3-5-2 weeks ago but to do it today with one fit centre half is madness and shows Hammell has no idea. Plus players like Crankshaw, Aitchison and McKinstry are not suited to 3-5-2. Now I read that we have reverted to one up front. It shames me to say but when it went to 3-0 I was hoping we would get a real doing and there would be no way back for Hammell and Kerr

  19. We're in a really poor state. John Hughes on radio Scotland this afternoon desperate for a job. Give him it til the end of the season and see if he can keep us up. Anything's better than the current regime.

  26. It's simply because he has no clue what to do. Simple as that. He's throwing players on and hoping for the best.

  27. Seriously, get Hammell and Kerr to fuck, total embarrassment to the club.

  31. Interesting to see him bawling from the touch line. SH very much like Lampard in that they are very passive on sideline. I think manager should be there constantly reminding them what the hell they are supposed to be doing. Some teams/ players need that more than others. I think we need that kind of encouragement from the manager on the side line

  32. Crankshaw one of the only ones actually trying on Wednesday. McKinstry attacking type player we need on the park. Hammell has to change things but how can we push forward with these two left out. Has he forgotten we need to score to win and be in oppositions half to do that.

  34. Must be hoping to keep it at 0-0 for a while then bring on a few players to steal the game. So probably down 2-0 before we sort it out.

  39. Oxburugh furlong Casey Lamie Johnstone Mckinstry Butcher Spital Crankshaw Obika. KVV thats probably the best start for me, with Aitchison Tierney coming off the bench later in the game to finish them off. COYW

  40. SH has been a pro for upteen years so there would have been no doubt he knew what the prob positions were it was addressing them that was the problem, hopefully we can come up with enough to beat the sheep , but as been said before a draw with a good display with a bit of " togetherness on the pitch " would be a start, good amount of games left for points, we just need to make sure we dont get cut adrift

  43. And with those last 2 signings, I’m a little less pissed off. Hammy has now addressed every area of major weakness. Now he needs to implement changes by dropping all the useless charlatans and playing a better system with the new guys.

  45. For me the line up should be Oxborough Johnson, mcginn, the new cb, furlong. mckinstry, spittal, Cornelius, Ollie aitchison, VV id give that a run of games in a 442 see how we get on can’t possibly get much worse can it. lamie and Kelly are both so off form as far as I’m concerned the second Beevis is fit I’d have him in Lamies place. Kelly I think a spell out the team may actually help him at this point.

  46. That's team I'd pick also couttsy. Van veen needs help up front .crankshaw looked our best player last couple. Mckinstry I felt was coming on to game before being dropped on Wednesday. Cornelius and slattery are better than goss and defense picks itself. Lots of options upfront to change (not saying they are any good though) . Huge game and I'm happy with a draw the now with performance better than Wednesday to give some confidence for next week scottish cup.

  47. To be honest it doesn't matter who he plays. There is no direction at the club. Can anyone tell me what kind of team we are apart from a losing one. We have no identity as a team or how we want to play and set up. Sure we have had injuries, but that is part and parcel of football. Hammell has started to do what Alexander did when he was struggling, shuffle the pack, play players out of position, disappoint players by dropping them for no reason and playing players who need to be dropped. He is a drowning man. Tomorrow's display will determine whether the players are playing for him or have downed tools.

  48. Will support stop him from being a huffy manchild with a bad attitude? PS not doubting his ability before you bring that up again.
    1 point
  49. Sadly, yes. Unless there's an outstanding candidate out there who for some reason isn't working, and would be affordable, I don't see the point in binning Hammell. With our current financial situation I could see someone like Kettlewell being given the job, and I don't see the point in replacing one manager who has had less than six months in the job and a sub-30% win rate with a manager who had less than six months in the Ross County job before being bumped when they were four points adrift and had a sub-30% win rate. I've seen so many ludicrous suggestions over the past few days from fans, ranging from bringing in an 82 year old Craig Brown or Craig Levein, to basically telling Hammell that he's shit at his job by forcing him to accept a new number two who's more experienced. It's an absolute shitshow, but we are where we are because of the decisions made, and we need to live with them now. I've constantly said that binning any manager literally days before the new league campaign kicked off was absolute madness, but that's what we did. The only thing that would match that would be bringing in his replacement, letting him approve seven January signings, then sacking him right after that. What we need to do now is stick with the plan. Hammell has been backed in the window. His new signings will need time to get up to speed, which may be time we don't have, but that's just how it is. We now live or die by the decision to appoint him. What I'd also say is that there is virtually no time in football history where appointing three different managers in one season has seen success follow. That usually brings issues of its own, and at that point you're sliding from a club having a bad season to a club that is moving into basket case territory. That kind of volatility in the board room can have a knock-on effect on which players and managers we can attract in future. We already saw one player come in on the basis that Alexander was his manager and his career basically grind to a halt. Do we want another manager to come in who possibly doesn't fancy some of the new signings we've made and a similar thing to happen? Nah, we need to stay the course now. We've appointed Hammell, we've made moves in the window. Now we need to let it play out.
