  1. You'd have to be a total maddie to think they'll be no jokes about his name.......

  2. A week ago everyone was saying that our players were all shite and whover was in charge, we were doomed because of Alexander/Hammels's signings. Kettlewell has managed to prove that the squad we have is capabale of beating the clear third best team in the country, on their day. I think between that and the momentum he has generated, mean that he should be given the job until the end of the season with further discussions to take place depending on where we finish. The last thing we need is another manager coming in now and saying 'no, we play 433, you centre forward, get out on the wing' or some such crap that is based on his dogma or 'football ethos' rather than knowledge of our players or league. Getting the best out of what we have is the key to getting out of this relegation battle.

  3. well said get him tae feck keep the kettle boiling he now has 5 training sessions this week to prepare for a battle with killie so DONT upset the applecart now when we are on a roll

  4. Holloway, in my opinion, would be a mental appointment. Surely our board don't want to go into this relegation fight with a media clown/entertainer with no recent record and a spectacular failure on his record. Especially one that seems to have the public persona of the kind of comedian that gets booked for low grade caravan parks.

  5. They say one swallow doesnt make a summer. What does 2 make? That was seriously impressive today, although I think both Robinson and Alexander would have a wry smile at the way it was acheived. I wouldnt necessarily have been considering Kettlewell for the job before Wednesday, but after those 2 perfomances and results it feels like more of a risk not giving him the job, at least until the end of the season. The next 2 games are huge for our season and upsetting some newly created momentum doesnt sit well. The difference in performance from Hammells last few games to this is pretty unbelievable. It may not last, but bringing someone new in guarantees nothing either. At least this feels tangible.

  6. Don't forget, we also looked fairly good under Hammell for a handful of games at the start of the season. Hopefully Kettlewell won't run out of ideas like he did.

  7. Incredible result. The workrate from the entire team was night and day to what it was under Hammell. Hearts were awful but that’s not our problem. And get it right up that greasy, flat nosed prick Neilson and that Honey monster headed goalkeeper.

  10. Fitness relatively similar with all pro clubs. Difference in model. Re Bielsa at Leeds. This also led to more burn out later in season and more injuries. Pace could be issue across side but stamina appears no different to other spl teams.

  11. To be honest I'm rather disappointed in the amount of laughing emojis it got. I was sure it was a winning comment 🤣

  12. Ok, who are these two new signings Goss and Spittal

  13. Really enjoyed that today! First time visiting home in ages and got to go to the game. Great team performance. I thought Spittal, McGinn and Butcher were standouts. The team shape now really benefits Goss....the guy is a baller! Furlong is raw and tired towards the end but he certainly grew into the game. Obika is huge help to Van Veen. You can see the confidence coming back and we knocked it about well at times. Onwards and upwards!

  15. 100% Ally. Thats always been my view. I've never subscribed to the view that our squad was rubbish (or words to that effect). They just haven't been properly managed. It begs the question though as to why managerial changes weren't made over a month ago.

  17. Two wins would be great but I’d happily take 2 draws as it would mean these two don’t make any ground on us.

  18. Thought Obika had a much better game now that we realise we need to play it to his chest or feet. He held the ball up well, gave us secure possession and brought others into play. Oh, and he took his goal well. KVV was outstanding again. The difference in his body language from just 2 weeks ago is incredible. Hopefully we can keep him motivated and firing on all cylinders for the rest of the season. Spittal and Cornelius work rate for the team was incredible. Goss, looks so much better when he has others around gim doing the donkeywork. His passing and distribition were excellent. The whole defensive unit were excellent. So much so Kelly barely had a save to make for most of the game. But the stand out for me was Callum Butcher. Led the line well, strong, uncompromising, organised the backline and put his body on the line when it mattered. Oh how we have missed a player with his qualities.

  19. I think Kettlewell till end of season , I know only 2 games but today was awesome. Please not Holloway. If McCann then with kettlewell as no.2

  21. Maybe we need a new manager every 4 games.

  22. I like the way that Kettlwell has managed our most disappointing players i.e. O'Donnell and Slattery. He could easily have punted them into the reserves but - despite knowing full well how poor they were recently - he put his trust in them and put them on to defend leads. They both seem to have responded well.

  23. The next two games are the difference between being in the mix for relegation at the end of the season, and having some meaningless games come the split. I'd much rather have the latter. We have to look aim at overhauling St Johnstone for 8th at the very least.

  24. A point wouldn’t be the worst here but given our resurgence there’s no reason we can’t take all three and propel away from the bottom. A couple of wins in the next two games sees us with a slight chance of sneaking into the top six. A couple of losses and we are right back in the shit. A humongous couple of weeks ahead for the future of our club.

  26. I didn't want kettlewell even getting it to the end of the season but I've changed my mind now.im not getting carried away with the two wins, even though it helps but he's shown a willingness to change things tactically and there's a fighting spirit on the park, bringing someone else in now might disrupt things and set us back,we've got it in our hands,we should be looking to keep it simple and ticking over until the end of the season and I think kettlewell will provide that, what happens in the summer will take care of itself.

  27. Kettlewell surely has to get the gig until the end of the season now. He’s got them playing as a team and we would be mad to upset that.

  28. Well, I must admit I didn’t think they had that in them. Terrific performance from everyone and an absolutely priceless 3 points especially with all the sides around us all losing yesterday. Kudos to Stuart Kettlewell who in 2 games now has not only got his selection and tactics spot on but seems to somehow have galvanised the players confidence. Surely if the choice is really between him, Holloway and Grant he is now favourite. COYW.

  29. It's no coincidence that St Mirren and Hearts didn't play well in these 2 games. We set up in a way that made it difficult for them.

  35. Its almost like he adopts the 'comic' routine to deflect a degree of scrutiny away from his actual abilities. He seems to be loved as a 'character' by certain media outlets which all has helped to boost his profile

  36. So it’s the same team as Wednesday night I only hope the two young full backs can cope with the Hearts wingers

  38. 100 percent the fitness has been worse since the return from the World Cup break.I don't know what they were doing but it's regressed terribly. But that has to do with the management team really drilling the players properly. I truly believe this is why the midfield have been so bad at tracking back this season the fitness isn't upto scratch. Slattery is prime example he has gave away so many yellow cards this season because he is not fit enough to keep up with opponents so just fouls them.

  39. think davkel is onto something there, yes they are fit , but if they were doing 2 sessions a day then they would be fitter, was it not mcghee that had them doing doubles at one point telling them "forget picking your kids up from school we will be back in all afternoon getting fitter " or words to that effect, there is fit, but you can get really fit, which i dont think we are
    1 point
  40. Looked fit against st mirren. Think we got more creativity than utd killie and ross co. Pro footballers are all fit. They train 3 or 4 times a week. And also at matches. It was formation that cost us and selection.

  41. One of the biggest problems for Kettlewell .... the fitness or lack of fitness in the squad ... very poor
