  1. Frail is the type of experienced assistant that Hammell really should have had. He’ll bring a whole load of experience and knowledge to the coaching team.

  3. It may seem a bit 'out there' as an approach, but maybe we could give him a chance to start the job before we write him off

  4. One of footballs good guys, very capable coach as well. Highly thought of everywhere he’s been. I’ve no doubt he’ll be well liked by the players and will be a brilliant buffer between players and manager.

  6. It was a joke. I appreciate that not everyone has my levels of good humour though and maybe I should have included laughing or smiling emojis.

  7. Not happy with this appointment because he used to play for Rangers and us getting people in who are tarnished by their association to that vile institution does nothing for the image of our great wee community club.

  8. Looks like he's taking the spot that Clarkson left. I didn't personally have anyone in mind for this role, so I guess we'll see how it goes. I'm not going to worry myself about someone getting in trouble for voicing their opinion three years ago. From what I remember, a lot of people were into that at the time. Hopefully SK will appoint his assistant soon so that Clarkson can get back to his real job. It's going to be a fun few weeks with all the appointments that are pending. Hopefully we're still picking up points so that all we have to complain about is a job title or whether someone was a bad boy once.

  9. fair point re being drafted in earlier but he's still only 19 and likely to be a much better player for learning his trade on the loan deals. I don't know the ins and outs but to say we've not protected an asset appears a little harsh. Max was loaned out to get experience in lower divisions and then brought into the team. Bigger clubs are now coming in for him and sounds like he'll take the opportunity. Good for him, I hope it works out for him. Personally I don't see this as a failure of the club, the system isn't set up for to be able to hold on. We've had a long line of talent over recent years which suggests that despite the system not being great that we do a great job of giving youngsters a platform.

  11. I'm a bit nervous, with Dundee Utd now trying to put out their bin fire, three points on Saturday would be huge for mitigating any bounce they get. I guess if comes down to how long it takes their players to appoint a new manager.

  12. We got 3million for Turnbull. We got a few excellent seasons out of Campbell. We got a fortune for the unfinished article that was James Scott. We got a development fee for Hastie who turned out to be really quite pish in the end. The list goes on. I don't think there's a single youngster out there who has left us quickly and gone on to better things in recent years. It was the exact same when Hastie left, people foaming at the mouth about an amazing young talent that we should have signed on a 3 year deal after a bang average season on loan at Airdrie. Johnson looks to be an excellent prospect after a few games, but we've done very well getting a lot of return from our youngsters in recent years. Chat of "mismanagement" is dreadful when nobody has any fuckin clue what's going on behind the scenes. We might have offered him six deals over the past two years and he's snubbed them all for all we know.

  13. So, in summary, the guy has a 20 year career and played 644 games, but we shouldn't hire him as a qualified coach because of one fight on the pitch and one "incident" with Tommy Wright where we don't even know what happened. As for the third situation, you misread wikipedia. When his contract was not renewed, he said it was "morally shocking" that clubs like Ross County were not talking advantage of the furlough scheme. He wasn't released because he criticized the club. So no need to be outraged at that one. Look forward to the same posters being outraged next time we discuss Willie McVie, Stuart McLaren or Ally Mauchlen (to name a select few).
