  3. I'd have said Casey, but Butcher is also a good shout.

  4. Exactly. You know that if you have a good season the team will get decimated. It’s almost like starting anew every season which makes it even harder for managers.

  5. The best manager in my time Tommy McLean signed loads but he was savvy enough to offload them fairly quickly. He also signed lots of gems. The transfer window makes that almost impossible nowadays so it makes it vital that as much research as possible is done before signing players.

  6. As I wrote previously, I, unfortunately, believe that Kettlewell signed his death warrant when he signed a striker known for their inability to score goals and sought to justify that bit of business by saying that he's hanging his hat on this project. We needed a goalscorer, not a 2-year project. I actually feel a bit of empathy for the player because he tries bloody hard for us and I want him to succeed, but it's not happening and all evidence before he was signed indicated that reality. It's ridiculous and naive of him to have signed that player and even more so to have said what he said in that interview. It also begs the question of his rationale for other signings, suggesting to me that analytics and common sense are probably double Dutch to Kettlewell, Daws and the Board. Fans are fickle and won’t forget this type of bold stupidity of playing fast and loose with our tight budget.

  11. I’ll take that, it was a bit snide and I have zero doubt Campbell gave his absolute all for us and I do wish him well. My point was he was offered an extension which he refused, again, entirely his prerogative and within his right and left for a minimal development fee with no add ons, thus enabling him to get a bigger wedge from Luton. Turnbull could have done exactly the same but didn’t knowing his club, which Motherwell is, would benefit. Because he went to Celtic tho he’s had much more stick from “some” of our fan base. Even tho he’s earned the club £3.75m and potentially come January another £750k

  12. Tbh you can compare this and that if you get the right infrastructure at the club you can compete with the Aberdeen's and Hearts,Hibs of this league and a top 4 or top 6 is more than a achievable. And on the transfer front I am hoping Alexander comes back and takes our head of recruitment off off our hands I think he has been terrible that's been a big part of our downfall this season. I think he is still here cause the club can't afford to pay him off or he would be gone by now.

  13. I cant believe some of the comments some of our fans make about Turnbull. He was under no obligation to sign a contract extension . He knew he'd be leaving but signed on to ensure the club that looked after him were taken care off. We therefore got good money for him. Lennon Miller is the same he knows he won't be with us for long but extended his contract which again will give the club a chance to get some payback for for that investment. I will never give guys like that a hard time. There are so many badge kissing fuckers who take the club for a ride. I wouldn't piss on Tom Boyd, Chris Cadden or Declan Gallagher if they were on Fire. Those cunts actively did all they could to either bad mouth the club or ensure we got fuck all.
