As a wee aside to the game, I had a wee look at a couple of other forums just to see if their fans are as bad about ours. Aberdeen's forum makes ours look like a positive love in for the managers and players 🤣 They have spent money in the last few windows, changed managers and have one point more than us. They have one of the best strikers in the league in Miovski and they have multiple posters who reckon everything is pish. There's a section of the support that want Warnock out already. Looking at the bottom end of the league objectively, three teams have changed manager recently, one has changed again and not one of them has had so much as a 'new manager bounce'. Aberdeen haven't won in five, Hibs have two points from five games, St Johnstone have a point less than us in their last five (that will become two less in their last five today), and Ross Co have a point. Now I know that this is about us and not them, but in a relegation battle, you need to take account of what your rivals are doing. Realistically, who in the bottom six are going to take anything away from Tyncastle ? We're not going down this year and we're not going to be in a play off spot either.

Inherited or not, the buck always stops with the manager in football. He's also had two transfer windows to address the inherited problems you mentioned.

I think what Stevie is saying , and no doubt he'll correct me if I'm wrong, is that we do nothing and say nothing until the end of the season and then we simply don't renew his contract. That way the players know no more than we do. In short, they can't react to something which hasn't happened.

Normally, in these games, I'd say go for it but not this time. I say that for 2 reasons: our league position relative to Livingston, Ross County and St Johnstone; and secondly our defence and defensive midfield are a shambles just now and likely to concede very easily. As you say Gazzy, damage limitation. Livi is our cup final.

As some others have said, I thought we did pretty well for 66 mins, defended well, restricted them to very few opportunities, and had the best chances on the break, Miller’s in particular. Very soft foul given for the 1st goal, but I’m not sure Mugabi was the only one to blame for Shankland’s free header, I think Casey is every bit as culpable, as is the decision to go zonal and not man for man. Anyway between them they can’t leave the top scorer in the league with that amount of space 12 yards out. The 2nd goal, we’re obviously chasing it at that point, they get an overload on our left and then O’Donnell’s weak attempt to get to the ball combined with a great touch and finish, and it was game over. A few positives to take, Kelly made a few decent saves towards the end and looked more steady in general, Vale looks like he’ll be a good player for us. 1st goal apart Casey played well. I know there’s a lot of chat about who is our best back 3 (or least worst), I think we need to get back to McGinn, Butcher and Casey as quickly as possible. I know Butcher hasn’t been great but I prefer him to the other options we have in that area. Assuming we lose next week, that Livi game is going to be huge, particularly given Ross C have a couple of winnable home games between now and then!

If you want job security, you dont become a football manager! A contract is there for a reason, it protects the manager for when he does poorly & gets the sack...... it also protects the club for when the manager does well and bigger opportunities come sniffing. There is absolutley nothing wrong with shaking the guys hand at the end of his contract, saying thanks for the service but we are going to try something new

Full clear out needed, hopefully board make the right decision and let SK walk as well, should be looking now for new team to recruit in the summer.
