Dear Christ we've offered Mugabi another contract. What a waste of limited funds. I know it's all opinions and others will think different. My only hope he refuses and gets a better offer.
Now it's confirmed we are wasting tens of thousands if not a 6 figure sum on Andy Halliday anyone at the club or Society who give us any pish about low budgets or shortfalls should be tar and feathered.
It's actually funny that they are too feart to announce that they will still be paying Obika next season.
McGinn is absolutely done, the idea that he might be here for another two years is mental. Kettlewell is actually thick enough to start with the exact same defence that only kept 3 clean sheets in 41 games. This season he got the good will from his initial KVV led turnaround. That's well and truly gone and if we keep the same shitty form with no Livingston there as a cushion we need to get shot of him at the first opportunity.
Not sure what your point is here.
Surely nobody has been offered a new contract if SK doesnt rate them and wants to move them on?
We are talking here about players that have been offered new contracts.
Id agree with you that the CEO may not sifn off on a player if SK wanted them but their terms were unreasonable.....
No major shocks. I’m glad Kelly is away, need a big commanding keeper and a proper captain (Casey For me). Reckon we’re about 8 players short as it stands? Keepers, few cbs, defensive mids and some forwards.
early days
All valid.
But my point....and I think Steelboys's.....is that our Manager decided every single one of our defence last season contributed enough to be retained. Yeah, we may debate the merits of each player and have different opinions. But that defence was simply not good enough so attempting to retain them en masse baffles me. And I say that as someone who rates Kettlewell.
I wouldn't say McGinn was done, been one of our most consistent performers. Still got a role to play.
As for Halliday, you don't like him, we get it. I am not convinced either but let's see how next season pans out
I’m ok with SK signing most of the defence again as he knows them well, but of course, he needs to sign upgraded new players that will be first choice. We need a squad of players not just a first team. Going to be hard enough finding 1 upgraded replacement for each position. So at least keeping current players on board he has a group of players that he knows exactly how they can perform and also they know exactly how SK works
Even if you ignore the fact that Gent returned to his club and Butcher is gone, even you must have noticed Kelly is moving on - the only man to have started in defence 100% of those games.
I also wouldn't be suprised to see Blaney or Casey move on over summer. Under contract today doesn't mean they won't be punted tomorrow.
I have heard Obika was on way to signing new deal but tripped on way to Kettlewells office and broke both his wrists which meant he couldn't sign new deal, well he has had every other injury
Glad Mcginn offered new deal but can't understand Mugabi offered new deal plus Butcher was offered one. We can't keep being nice all the time. We done that with Dunne and Tanner in the past and Obika to lesser extent
Exactly this Ross County a poor Ross County side mind made those players look very average this obsession we have with the Raith squad nearly every player mentioned I honestly hope we set the signing bar higher than this.
Now I get it's end of the season I get it they where probably on fumes but we need a fair few pieces of quality not quantity.
How does that prove he won't be signing for us? If they've already made up their minds on signing him (the rumour has been around since the start of the year), they may have been watching someone else. e.g. Dąbrowski.
With it being the last game of the season on Sunday it got me thinking about last games of the season in years gone past
This one came to mind in May 2000, not seen much footage of it since and taken from a Rangers youtube channel
For our younger fans who do not remember this game we played Rangers off the park on this day, then the fans invaded the park at the end of the game. A bit like the play-offs you could say
