Last night really couldnt have went any better for us. We have some much needed confidence back going into our game on Sunday and Rangers/Clement are now under serious preasure 🙄
So another international break? FFS someone needs to get a hold of these FIFA and UEFA idiots and stop all this nonsense with so many games between UEFA competitions formats and international leagues or whatever the Fk it is now and let countries have their own seasons
it used to be reasonable with knock out competitions and euro/WC qualifiers, now it’s just ridiculous and purely greed.
the players Moan about too many games so maybe they need to step up to the plate and get things back to being a bit more reasonable.
it’s made even worse nowadays since we are more global and end up with players traveling all over the place
On the other hand might be building up to a great season next year. 5 youngsters with a full season under their belt. Better than five 30+ year olds. But I think a balance of youth and experience this year is needed.
Id play Sparrow from the start with Miller in the middle and bring Halliday on later when we need an experienced head to close the game out.
But SK obviously rested Halliday last night as he intends to play him on Sunday so you are probably not far away with that.
I hope its not going to be a return to Davor and Halliday in the middle with Miller further forward again, as that would be a step back imho.
I think the last 2 games should have shown SK how important legs and energy are in midfield the way we set up.
That's same team I'd pick Grizzly. Miller and halliday 2 sitting midfielders with wilson slightly forward on left and maswanhise closer to apstam on right. If sods is fit he will play instead of balmer I think.
They still have better players than us but they are certainly fragile and other than celtic our other 3 defeats have only been by 1 goal so I am certainly expecting a really tight game.
Wee maswahanise and miller can certainly provide match winning moments so I'm as confident as can be expected but still realise we could lose quite easily.
Will be a great day and hopefully great game if we can do it.
The set pieces have been a lot better this season, obviously worked hard on it and scoring a few goals from it, so credit to coaching staff...we aren't a great team especially with all the injuries but a goal here and there from set piece is welcome
The shine was taken off the result for me as "United were missing four starters through injury in Craig Sibbald, Ross Docherty, Ross Graham, and Louis Moult, United were the better side but could not find the lethal touch they needed." (source: BBC). So, United had some injuries. I'm sure we all feel sorry for them having to field an understrength team.
I’d start Maswanhise and task him with constantly running at and through their defence from kick-off. Rattle them early and hope our striker(s) can feed off scraps.
If we let them start well and take control, we’ve got no chance. That’s why we need to start fast and aggressive to not let them dominate possession. This will get their fans on their backs early, which is exactly what we need.
It’s in our hands to take the initiative and win this game. But, if we start with Robinson up top alone, we might as well all go home early.
