I started going to fir park was in 1968 and Dixie was one of the stars of that team that steamrollered their way to winning the second division . But despite his many goals my main memory of Dixie was in the new year game at Hamilton where him and Lamont the arses goalie were in the middle of the six yard box punching lumps out of each other and unsurprisingly both sent off. Yet another in a list of players over the years that Celtic have stolen from us .
RIP Dixie
Dixie was one of the first heroes of mine. Gave opposition centre halfs a torrid time with his ability to "hang" in the air and shall we say "combatitive" style on the ground. Gave Mike England of Spurs the run around in our Texaco Cup tie.
RIP
Interesting info……. Or not 😃
Utd have worst discipline record 41Y 1R
We have the best discipline record 20Y 0R
hopefully we can avoid loosing players to suspension and of course, injuries
Final thing i will say is i remember Brian Caldwell being shocked when SK told him his decision. Surely if SK had concerns why did he not tell the club and they could have acted and put measures in place?
Anyway he done us a favour as if he hadn't quit we wouldn't have got JBA, with Wimmer in-between
