  1. I watched Welsh, who was on the park at the end of the game. He shook the hands with every Celtic player as they trudged off, a few hugs as well. As soon as they were gone he turned to us in the main stand and fist pumped. He looked every bit as happy as me. His face definitely screamed “get it up them” I don’t see him going back there

  2. We've only lost 2 out of 6 against the Top 3 and we should have won at Tynecastle and got a point at least at Celtic Park and Ibrox. That says to me we are absolutely as good as them in one to ones. What we need to do is win games like the one coming up which I kind of alluded to in my original post. The best Motherwell team I've ever seen should have won the league but lost to lowly Dundee Utd and St. Johnstone sides. That's the tricky part rather than the big games when you challenge for a league. It's likely the 'top' teams will drop a lot of points in the run in as there genuinely isn't a gap between the Old Firm and the others now so it's down to us to keep up our performances and form going and you never know. We are further back that the Top 3 so we are probably going to have to beat the Old Firm and Hearts a couple more times this season to have a chance but this is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity. Motherwell are a club who will always struggle to keep talent and I don't expect that to change but this season everything is in place. The stars are aligned. It's there so why not go for it? Right now though we just have to get the heads down, keep the performances up and tick off the games. Let's get into February/March and see where we are.

  3. It’s not good to hear and it really isn’t helpful to us as a club because that is the message that is put out to players and coaches, both current and prospective and many will buy into that. I know we have a core of supporters who like to portray us as this cuddly wee tinpot nonentity of a club, Cowan being one of the most vocal due to his position. And I am under absolutely no illusions whatsoever that we are a big club or anything like it, certainly not in the same scale as the Old Firm, Aberdeen or the Edinburgh clubs. But we have been playing top flight football uninterrupted for over forty years now. And even if the pendantic faither types want to go down the “ahh but we were only saved by league reconstruction one time and then Falkirk’s ground didn’t meet requirements” route, well the last time that happened was twenty two and a half years ago now. So we have been an established top flight club for over twenty years. Still pretty good going I’d say. Success we have will be fleeting and good managers and players we get will inevitably move on to bigger clubs at some point. I know that, we all know that and it’s not exclusive to us. That’s just the law of the jungle. But to hear our most high profile fan go straight on the radio just after we’ve recorded an emphatic victory over Celtic playing some tremendous football and his core point appear to be “it’s only a matter of time before the manager goes, x player gets poached cos a wee diddy team like us can’t afford to keep them” is pathetic stuff. At least enjoy the moment and let the rest of us do the same before spouting the “it’s all gonny get taken away from us soon” pish.

  4. JBA can do whatever the hell he likes! If we can beat Celtic with 4 right backs and no strikers he can probably walk on water! 😆😆😆

  5. With Rangers, Celtic or both definitely dropping points this is a big game for us and a win could be potentially huge. St. Mirren are a bit of a bogey team for us, we've not beaten them in 2025, and they always make it tough and I wouldn't expect anything different this time. However this team just looks like they don't give a fuck who they are playing and our home performances have been excellent minus one half against Falkirk. Like I said ending the year on 36 points would be massive.

  7. This for me exactly. Definitely think we have not had the correct mindset going into a good number of these games in recent seasons. It helps when we have a manager who doesn't talk our chances down before a ball is kicked. Jens last night , Wimmer at Ibrox last season. Baraclough in the playoffs being examples of this

  8. I've seen Motherwell teams deservedly beat Celtic and I've seen us scrape through...I've never seen us batter them from minute 1 to minute 90. Incredible performance, unbelievable

  9. The manager is absolutely brilliant in everything he does, what an appointment he's turned out to be and it just shows you don't need to be part of the managerial merry go round in scotland and need someone that knows the league etc,you just need a guy that knows what there doing and Jen's has that for sure,it also highlights how duffers like kettlewell are conning a living out the game.

  10. Too easy and we were not at full strength aswell missing our top goalscorer that second goal like a pack of lions hunting down its prey!Fantastic to watch. I tell you one player who doesnt get alot of praise but for me has been outstanding week in week out is Fadinger just goes about his business and never ever gives up brilliant player.

  15. The KMI panel outcomes don’t matter a jot anyway. All they do is highlight incompetence and cheating, and further infuriate fans because there is no accountability.

  16. Same, during the game I was so nervous. I knew we were set up to see out the game at 2-0 and basically letting Celtic have the ball but on watching the game back and knowing the score we looked absolutely comfortable. The only real scare was the great save from Ward

  17. This is going to be a difficult game as Robbo will set them up to be difficult to play against. He done a job on us for the semi final so we will hopefully get revenge

  18. Jeez i never thought about the 4 right backs last night 🤣

  19. Doing likewise. Michael Stewart I'm told has had connections with Motherwell over the years through friends and colleagues. He definitely has a soft spot for us even before this seasons impressive stuff. He couldnt give enough superlatives about us throughout this game.

  20. I've got a mate who's a jambo (I know, I should pick better friends !) and since the 3-3 game, he now watches back all of our games cause he says as a neutral in most of our games, we're just great to watch. Although his side is ahead of ours in the league, even he thinks that our brand of football is ultimately 'better' than theirs. They do play some decent football, but a lot of their games are scraps rather than 'total football'.

  21. Just watching the full game again just now on premier sports. My god Michael Stewart loves us. and it’s just as good watching it for a second time.

  22. Still buzzing, watched highlights and the cross from SOD even better than I first thought watching it in real time. Absolutely delighted for him and even had fans with their own song for him.

  23. Good morning Everyone Still absolutely buzzing and will be for a while to come What a result, what a performance . Also a brilliant crowd for a midweek game especially as some fans have stayed away from those games in the recent past. I caught highlights of a 3-3 Celtic game recently from 2014, there was empty seats galore that day and we finished second that season The crowds and support have been a very big positive this season

  24. Looking forward to the next time we play Celtic and their manager (whoever that might be) says, 'we will have to be at our best and Motherwell will have to have an off day if we are to get anything from the game'

  25. Seriously???? I've lived every bloody day of those 10 years, 35 games , 30 losses, thinking Id never live long enough to ever see us beat them again. For me its felt like an eternity , like a never ending prison sentence.

  26. Great night last night but one ‘downside’ is I made the mistake of tuning into Off the Ball on Radio Scotland after the game. Tam Cowan couldn’t even let himself or the listeners enjoy the result without the age old nonsense about “we’ll be lucky to keep JBA to the end of the season, we’re only a wee club, much bigger clubs will be looking at our manager and our players” and so on. Lighten up ffs. I’ve no doubt of Tam’s love for the club but he is one of the biggest culprits of this “we’re only a wee diddy team punching way above our weight” especially seeing as he’s probably the most high profile Motherwell fan out there certainly the one with the biggest platform. That sort of nonsense is why we went more than a decade without beating Celtic as it drips into the club and numerous players, managers and staff buy into it. Fortunately Jens simply focusses on us as a team and doesn’t get caught up in the cliched tiresome rhetoric that so many before him have done so. And Tam Cowan really isn’t funny. His patter is pretty shite imo.

  27. Any kind of win will be very much appreciated. St Mirren got the better of us in the semifinal but we would be foolish to get wrapped up in any thought of revenge. We simply have to concentrate on finding a way to beat them for our own benefit now. The past is in the past and there is nothing we can do about it beyond learning from it and using that knowledge to our advantage. They will undoubtedly have a plan for us on Saturday and should prepare accordingly. I am confident that JBA will be ready both with a gameplan and a few ideas to mix things up should they be required. Here's hoping we can start 2026 with another win to keep the feel-good feeling going. I think we can do it, though it will undoubtedly be hard fought.

  28. If say that they'd have to fight to get back into a winning team, but we know fine well that JBA is making 5 changes on Saturday. 😄

  29. Welsh and JT back. And we owe them. We are pumping them. 3-0 Motherwell.

  30. Absolutely magnificent game tonight. We absolutely bossed that for about 80 minutes. I dont think Ive ever seen that against either of the big two in 57 years. The energy, determination and tenacity of the team to get after Celtic and not give them a minute, was immense. They JUST couldnt handle us, or him! This team/squad/manager has something. We might not win the league. But we ARE in the conversation and we should be looking at the Scottish Cup as a viable target. In Jens we trust!

  31. How disrespectful to call him out in public like that. Ian McCall is going ro be all over that. 😄 Iy must be shite for wee Callum not getting to be the flat track bully every week.

  32. I should also mention Callum Ward, he has proven me wrong. An assured performance tonight, and it isn't the only one recently. Well done to him for turning things around.

  33. Every player played their part which was dictated to them by JBA so I’m not going to single out anyone they all deserve it.

  34. Absolutely gutted that I wasn’t able to attend the game tonight, but for all of times I’ve seen us go close only to watch it go tits up and leave feeling sick, watching the game on tv - although no where near as good as it was for those there - it was an amazing feeling and the interview with Jens after the game is something everyone should try and watch.

  37. What a performance from start to finish. Our tactics worked a treat and like the game against Hibs the opposition had no answers. Our passing, movement, pressing and drive was brilliant. Celtic really lost their discipline and really should have been down to at least 10. Said, what a guy. His close control and trickiery is worth the admission money alone. No failures in the team. Ward has now shown he is more than a capable goalie and deserves praise for his big saves at critical times. Onto probably the hardest game for us, St Mirren. We owe them...

  38. That was the most comprehensive victory I've ever seen against them. I don't think I've enjoyed a game as much as that for years, some of the passing to play our way out of our box just left me shaking with laughter.

  39. The best bit about it is that the result is not really a surprise. I really do believe that Motherwell are the best team in the league right now.

  43. If you're watching on Prem Sports, both Hutton and Mulgrew almost jizzed themselves during JBA's interview. The burd running it had to cut them off and Mulgrew asked if he could come in for a cup of tea and ask him more questions. If you can watch it back somewhere, do it.
