  1. It sounds like you're just making up stuff to be worried about. Some players will want to stay, some players will want to move on, some new players will be happy to join. Same as every season. That's for dealing with in the summer. Just enjoy the ride for now.

  2. Hot take - maybe some of the current squad actually enjoy playing football for us and would like another season of the same.

  3. I think Ap Stam's tea is out. I like him so I feel a bit bad for him. An old man ( a random person I got talking to) told me Hendry is done for the season. Who knows how true it is or where he heard it but that would indicate we need another no9 at least. Feels harsh bringing in a LB but I think it would be wise. Sell no cunt. (for less than £3m)

  6. Players can lose their heads in the heat of the moment, particularly when a weak referee has lost control, lets persistent fouling go unchecked, and doesn’t seem to have a clue about the advantage rule. That’s probably what led to Watt’s stupid reaction. He’ll learn from it.

  7. He loved beating St Mirren so much today he even smiled in his post match interview. While he played it down pre-match, you could tell he's been plotting a way to beat them since the semi.

  8. This is something I find interesting with JBA. To what extent is he enjoying it here? He tends to play with a poker straight face. There is absolutely no doubt that Scottish Football is driven excessively by emotion. I listened to the OF game today on the radio and there was actually very little commentary on the actual game. It was all about the drama around the Celtic predicament and Nancy in particular. Every adjective is pulled out to describe the emotions of the fans, the players, the horrors of Nancy's predicament. Read Tom English's article this evening on the BBC . It is pure sensationalism. I think 'haunted' is used in the headline to describe Nancy's demeanour. It is straight out of Hollywood. JBA has made a point of cutting through all that noise. At times he has made some of the inane questioning of the press sound ridiculous because he refuses to get drawn in to the emotion, instead concentrating on the very effective job in hand . I do wonder if behind that very pragmatic exterior if the club and maybe even the warts and all of Scottish football itself is actually starting to grow on him. I suspect unfortunately that JBA will look at his own career in much the same way as he forensically builds a competitive Motherwell side but it would be nice to dream that he has grown enough attachment to the club that it will at least raise the bar for any potential suitors offering riches to entice him away.

  9. Really enjoyed that today. Mostly because we won in spite if everything that was going on. The diving, the grabbing, the holding, the time wasting, the referee doing absolutely nothing about it and then having a go at our players when they started to take matters into their own hands. Not crying about it, as I actually quite enjoyed it when Robbo was employing it with us, but it is still nice to see that "passing without a purpose" can comfortably beat Thunderdome! We still played our football, but we refused to be bullied. This team has fight and spirit in abundance as well as ability. Great to see JT back. He is the striker we are looking for! Although Im still up for a big dirty Norwegian if he is already in the post. 2 really good goals, bucket loads of entertainment from Just, Slattery and Mr Chaos! SOD rampaging thru midfield to join in. It was a joy to watch. We really are witnessing something very special.

  12. JBA isn't going anywhere christ he might be more than happy at Motherwell everyone calm down sure he is going to leave us at some point but to Aberdeen nah I don't think so. Now if I was a St Mirren fan I be worried Robbo will be already speeding up the motorway as I type this after a sneaky couple of texts with Burrows.

  13. The extra gate money coming in under JBA, with home crowds clearly up, should absolutely be used by the Board to sweeten his current deal. It would keep his focus on us rather than counter offers and would be a logical, now proven, investment.

  15. I listened to sports sound this afternoon and they played a clip of JBA’s interview from yesterday; he mentioned looking to see what the rest of this season could look like and what we could be as we head into next season. Someone mentioned this before - perhaps the platform Motherwell give/ have given is more important than a few extra pounds each month. It certainly is a great time to be on this particular Motherwell rollercoaster

  17. I suppose MFC will be doing what they can to keep Jens and keep players here so we can benefit from them playing for us but also not end up letting players go for zero. For once it would be great to see a Motherwell team, especially this one, go into European competition with the same team that qualified. Long term, we have to do what we can to maintain this approach to football and not revert back to”guid laddies” and “right to play” hoofball crap.

  18. I accidentally voted for Said instead of Just, but I'm OK with that for his entertainment value alone.

  21. Hope not controversial after a great win but Watt's reaction to st mirren player confronting him is embarrassing. If other way round we would be slating opposition player. Elliot you are better than that

  23. It just gets better each week. Whats going to happen if we ever did somehow get two or three windows out this gaffer? Being mid 40s these days iv seen alot, early 90s when we mounted a genuine challenge, McGhee v1 team a joy to watch the attacking front 3, McCalls team of stars but nothing compares to what this team can do in terms of controlling games, keeping possession, turnovers & pacey counters, never mind the clean sheets. You get the feeling that this is still a work in progress & there is more to come. Long may it continue! For any young well fan - just enjoy it. We are seeing something genuinly different and hopefully (touch wood) a bit special!

  24. Routine victory. This time last year I was going to games out of duty/habit. This year I can’t wait for games to come around. Get the feeling the modern day fan is experiencing our “Ancell Babes” moment. Just hope we are more clinical than they were.

  26. They make me eat my words every week. I said last week we wouldn't get over 7000 home fans this season and there you go 7100 home fans. Absolutely incredible to think the last time we had these crowds was when John Boyle took over and was throwing cash about like a man with no arms and the catastrophic consequences that has. Thoroughly enjoyed that game again today but it still rattles my chops that that pile of shite won a trophy this season. They are garbage and there was no more a Robbo masterclass as there was in the semi final.

  27. This team are just fucking brilliant...well-drilled, hungry, hard-working and very clever. The stats, game after game, are unheard of at our Club and the season stats are just phenomenal. We looked like a team that were levels above St Mirren, who literally had nothing in their locker other than acting like bams, which the referee seemed to be OK with If there is a slight frustration, its that we could and should be humiliating teams, such was our dominance today a 5-0 victory would have been more fitting than the 2-0 that we seen.

  28. Agreed. The thought of renewing both SODs and McGinn last year seemed mental. Especially after McGinns injury problems. Both of them have been outstanding this season and contribute so much both on and off the park. Who woulda thunk asking footballers to play football would have had such success!

  29. Get Slatts on a longer term deal, renew SODs, clear out the deadwood and get 1 or 2 in to bolster the squad and we go into the second half of the season in pretty good shape.
