  1. Nonetheless, when was the last time there was a fitba' season in Scotland with no weather-related postponements? This year is hardly the first time we've ever had this debate, so it's not just the current cold snap that's prompted it.
  2. Bonus. We all think football's too expensive, so fewer games = cheaper (Yes, I know, they'd probably hike the prices up even further to cover costs...)
  3. I'd have no problem ditching the 'diddy cup'. Having two cup competitions is a bit daft for a country our size anyway.
  4. Main argument that usually gets trotted out is that, if we were any good, we'd have to disrupt the season for the Euro and World Cup Finals every two years. Other countries seem to cope with this, though.
  5. The commentators made a big thing out how long he'd been on the park without having had a touch, and finally noted that he'd received a pass with about two minutes to go.

  7. Was just about to suggest some sort of 'anonymous suggestion box' scheme myself. For maximum inclusiveness you'd probably have have it on the club website and/or via a dedicated email address though, which obviously opens it up to abuse from numpties from other clubs, but hopefully not enough that you couldn't screen them out. Much as I like the moderated Q&A idea as well, I can see the club being on a hiding to nothing with that one-- assuming they can only answer a limited number of the questions submitted at any time, and they get to choose which ones, there would doubtless still be a paranoid element moaning about favouritism, grudges, cover-ups etc.

  10. About the best you can say about it is that the Falkirk and Killie fans probably won't be relishing the prospect of facing us (or indeed ICT) either, even with the benefit of home advantage.
  11. No' very original mind you... isn't it in the top 5 or 10 most popular girls' names at the moment?

He could have licked every Hearts player's boots clean for fun for all I care, if he came to use and did a good job. Not really the style of manager I'd like to see at the club at this time, though.

    Where Do You Sit?

Don't get over very often these days, but I always used to stand near the halfway line when I was a regular, and when it became the East Stand and I acquired a season ticket, it was for pretty much the very spot where I used to stand. Have never liked the view from behind the goals at any stadium, although it wasn't quite so bad in the days where you could swap ends at half time
  14. He's hardly a "new manager". New to the SPL, perhaps, but he's managed club and international sides for several years, winning five league titles and two cups, and had good runs in European competition too.
  15. Or Jim Gannon To be fair, though, Fenlon has proved himself to be a cut above the rest, at least in League of Ireland terms. The Bohs fans I know will be absolutely gutted if he leaves.

  17. I don't buy this "new stadia have no atmosphere" stuff. It's up to the fans to generate atmosphere, not the builders.
  18. Relegation battles aren't necessarily "bleak"... would certainly give us more to get excited about and focus on than battling it out for 6th or 7th place.
