  1. It's almost as if the main appeal of watching sport is its unpredictability.
  2. He just seems a bit like the sort of person who's never quite settled anywhere before but happens to be a good fit at Motherwell. Sometimes that type of player does keep doing well after they've earned their move, but plenty don't.
  3. Which, by all accounts, we've offered him.
  4. Think he's a classic case of "if he could do it every week, he wouldn't be playing for us" (or Scunthorpe, or Northampton). Sometimes those kind of signings work out, sometimes they don't. For now I'm happy to keep playing him and see what happens.
  5. They also fired a good two or three balls right across the face of the goal that wouldn't have counted as shots but could easily have been tapped in.
  6. And 11pm if you want to enjoy it a third time.
  7. Craig Gordon doing a Liam Kelly there.
  8. Team: Kelly, Mugabi, Solholm, Lamie, McGinley, Goss, Slattery, Maguire, Shields, Woolery, Watt. Subs: Fox, O'Donnell, Carroll, O'Connor, Amaluzor, Cornelius, Grimshaw.
  9. There's nothing wrong with it per se, but if the entertainment value continues to be zero with no hint of improvement around the corner, then they'll be doing it in front of empty stands before long.
  10. To be fair, the more important question is who the linesman was. He should be the one to make that call.
  11. I mean, he should have. He's actually positioned about 18 yards away, at the junction of the goal-line and the penalty area. From there, if he can see all of both of the keeper's feet it's an infringement, and if he can't see either foot because of the post, it's fine. But as you say, expecting him or anyone else to be looking at that while sensing the exact moment the ball is kicked is going to be error-prone at best, just as it is when making offside calls. .
  12. I would hope so, that’s pretty much his only job at that point. And if both his feet were in front of the line, the post wouldn’t be in the way.
  13. Yes, you’re right… I’m an overseas subscriber so I’d forgotten that
  14. White screen sometimes just means your subscription has run out. Presume it hasn’t in your case?
  15. Think that was our "not going to be our day" moment. And now we have a penalty, which will probably just prove it.
  16. Because that is what the manager has told his defenders to do, pretty much since the day he arrived at the club.
  17. Other than Flow's tweet, "bad face injury" is the only other suggestion I could see on Twitter as to what happened. Must have been a bad one regardless, hope he makes a good recovery.
  18. Were they ever? I'd hope the player with the most votes always won that week, even if there were more null votes.
  19. All words are made up. This one is in the OED, however. https://www.oxfordreference.com/view/10.1093/acref/9780199571123.001.0001/m_en_gb1008114
  20. As I understand it, legal enforcement doesn't start until October 18th. So if we sell more than 10,000 tickets, you might be asked for your vaccine passport to test our procedures (they have to spot-check "a reasonable number" of people), but they probably won't stop you getting in if you don't have it. But if we just decide to sell less than 10,000 tickets to avoid the hassle, we don't have to check anyone anyway.
  21. Fourth. https://www.geordiebootboys.com/opinion/why-did-newcastle-sign-mark-gillespie-opinion/
  22. I guess this is why we didn't play David Turnbull at right back.
  23. To be fair, plenty of folk on here thought he’d do just fine as cover. His scoring record for Thistle and Livi in the Premier league (a goal every 6 games or so) was perfectly respectable for a winger, although his number of assists wasn’t so hot.
