  1. I think that myself more so after watching the latest video from our Chairman.
  2. Maybe still negotiating a salary and transfer kitty etc ??
  3. Alternative is you sign them on 2 year deals then youre left with a player you don't want and a player that doesn't want to be here but with a years contract that the club must honour. At least with the option to extend a player can find another club without a transfer fee being asked for and the club don't have to pay a severance package if he doesn't take up the option.
  4. Maybe it was the board who wanted to keep Halliday and ODonnell took up his year option so not much the club could do about that other than offer him a pay off.
  5. Maybe there should be a pool of 6 managers that the Diddy teams just swap with each other every 2 seasons. Wimmer was our chance to break the mould, hopefully we get someone in the same vein.
  6. I've great memories of going on the European tours but it was mainly because I was seeing places and grounds I'd never been to rather than "being in Europe". I've had just as good memories from going to places like Stranraer and Elgin that I'd never visited. A cup win would supercede anything else for me and to get the chance to re live 1991 again would be the icing on the cake.
  7. Always a risk when you appoint a foreign manager or sign a foreign player especially if they've got a wife and young family who haven't moved with them. At the end of the day family always comes first second and last.
  8. The only thing I would even consider keeping VAR for is to make CLEAR offside calls ie clear daylight between attacker and defender. Everything else can get in the bin.
  9. Heard from a reasonably good scource that he was telling the players today who he wants to keep and those not being offered new terms.
  10. Hope its that and Ox's finger hasn't been giving him bother.
  11. Which makes me think he's perhaps not on Wimmers "must sign" list.
  12. Think that's more testament to end of season apathy in general. Disappointing nonetheless.
  13. That's an improvement from your usual prediction. Feeling OK?
  14. I think it's more of a problem with the quality of the league as a whole rather than Motherwell as a team. Its becoming a bore fest punctuated by the odd moment of brilliance and made worse by VAR. If you read some of the other teams forums their fans are all saying exactly the same things we are and it'll probably be exactly the same next season and the season after that and the season................ Hopefully Wimmer can bring in some magic fairy dust in the close season.
  15. When I saw the post I honestly couldn't initially remember who Calum Ward was which kinda sums up a mental season on the signings front. Pleased about Halliday though.
  16. I've wondered about this as well. I remember reading something ages ago that the insurance policy to cover this eventuality was administered by the SPL/SPFL and covered every club for a set premium each year. Not sure if that's still the case (probably not) as I would imagine if one club makes multiple claims the other clubs with less claims could in theory end up picking up the tab. If its the case that each club have their own individual policy then our premiums will be astronomical at the next renewal date. Or such a thing might not even exist. Maybe a question for the Well Society?
  17. I predict MJC will predict 2 0 Dundee and predict we wont win another game this season and predict that we end up in the play off spot.
  18. Copied from St Johnstone fan over on P&B. Make of it what you will. I don't think theres much chance we'll keep any clean sheets now tbh. Technically only one fit CB now, whos a 19yo loanee right back. Only playable CB is trying to get used to playing with a mask due to a broken nose, then the only other defender is a left back who can't run, cant last more than an hour, and had an absolute horror show to the point we might play a right winger at left back against you.
  19. All our young boys out on loan are a bit lightweight and in this league lightweights get eaten alive even if they're good technically and have a football brain. Unortunate but that's the way things are going in the SPL, brawn before brain.
  20. We all know how St Johnstone will play. High intensity pressing game with nothing to lose as a draw doesn't help them. Up to us to match that intensity. Whether we can is a different matter. If we can't raise our game for this then somethings far wrong.
  21. 34 for the Midden and 19 for us.
  22. Not getting at you personally mate so don't take it so hard. Like you say it's the usual suspects I was more having a dig at who can't help turning a perfectly reasonable question into another moan fest.
  23. It's threads like this that give ammunition to the posters over on P&B who like to look in here occasionally then point and laugh at how wild SO is.
  24. What we need is a couple of Kurt Panzers. The older ones who used to read the Sun will know who I'm talking about.
  25. Not bad for a player some Accies fans said was the worst player they'd ever seen play for them.
