  1. Ok. 5 is still greater than 0 as was being suggested. Also more than our opponents managed. I'm in no way trying to suggest that we weren't poor or that there wasn't tactical errors made (with hindsight). A defeat is always a negative result. Balance is required though. From what I can see the majority see this a some kind of disaster... It's not. I could probably look back through this forum and find the same harbingers of doom prophesying how a run of defeats around Christmas meant our goose had cooked. Anyone who pays £50 to get to a SPL game needs there head checked anyway. If its on telly they should probably be sectioned.
  2. Really? Away in Edinburgh? Some of our fans have got way to big for our boots. Your summary of the game was bang on though.
  3. Would 8 be enough to satisfy you?
  4. I've edited for any other sensitive souls that read this forum. Should have been pretty obvious given the massive single post between two though.
  5. That reads like somthing mjc would post!

Null vote. Not because we were that bad, but because noone really outshone their teammates.
  7. Our biggest problem area... and for some reason people rarley pick up on it is our lack of a natural left sided forward. Murphy's being reguarly hounded, but i'd have him starting in at least 3 different roles than the one he's regulary asked to play. Even playing Law wide left (our best option in that area IMO) negates alot of what he brings to the table. I hate living in fanatsyland but we should have broke the bank for Faddy and stuck him out wide left.
  8. No chance should Carswell be starting provided Hutchys injury doesn't keep him out. I'd have Las, Law, Rammers and maybe Hateley ahead of him in the middle of the park all day long. I don't see what McHugh offers to warrant him a run in the team. This league has always been very tight outwith the top 2 (now 1). We took advantage last year due narrowly winning games we narrowly failed to win this year. Lets no get too disheartened, we are still able to play good football for time to time. It's not like we have dominated everyone even during our recent succesfull campaigns.
  9. Scottish football is awful. Don't be surprised to see two teams playing in a terrible game. My point was more that we weren't really outplayed by a better team. Ojamaa and Murphy have been poor this year too. Nonetheless McHugh isn't the answer to our problems. Particularly when we're play the shape we were today.
  10. A much better goalscoring record....
  11. Your first point is bang on... In days gone by a 1-0 defeat at Tynnie would have been veiwed as a bad result at all. Some of our fans expectations are way overboard. I agree quite a bit with your second point too. But... There are times when it's right to go with only one up top to try and compete in the middle of the park (McCall got this bang on today IMO). Ojamaa should be considered in these circumstances for his workrate alone. That said... Higgy was probably the right option today with Rammers in for Cummings and need some kind of height for defending set pieces.
  12. 1. Wasn't an awful performance. Gave as good as we got and were pretty narrowly beaten. 2. Who do you suggest starts ahead of Humphrey and Murphy. 3. What would have been your subs? Carswell got the chance he deserves and Ojamma is rightly ahead of McHugh in the pecking order.
  13. Humphrey can't even control the ball with his hands to take a quick throw!!!
  14. Next goalscorer... John Sutton 9 to 1. I'll have some of that.
  15. Probably why he never plays as a striker.
  16. It's his biggest weakness. He doesn't even go in for balls that are 60/40 in his favour. Infuriating! Eta... Ojamma time please.
  17. Normally on sale around Christmas... Full season ticket for concession in the east was £160 so I guess it would be about £80.

    Aberdeen

Higdon for me. Seemed to win the lions share of the ball that were directed towards him and gave away very few fouls in the process which is somthing new. hold up and link up play was good and he grabbed another goal to keep himself on top of the pile.
  19. He's onside when the ball is played towards him though. Not sure if that consitutes another phase of play. Willie Miller though it was fair enough though.
  20. Aberdeen had a free kick in their own half with about 30 seconds on the clock. We setup totally wrong for it. For me that has nothing to do with the home crowd.
  21. As you say it wasn't the plan. The young guys at the back will hopefully learn this isn't the way you close out a game. Hopefully McCall goes through them for it. The last goal came from a free kick in the oppsitions half, the home crowd shouldn't come into it and to setup you defensive line on top of the keeper is criminal. Agree that a change should have been made to run down the clock though.
  22. Apart from being heavily involved in our 3rd goal!?
  23. Don't think a defensive sub would have helped. We began to defend deeper and deeper in the last few minutes our players were obvioisly shitting it. Thats what cost the last goal. Should have learnt from the St. Mirren game. Good few positives though despite clearly blowing it at the end.
