  1. Can't stand international breaks. Infact I can't stick international football. However we maybe have a few players carrying small niggles so this should give them time to recover. Also it gives robinson and lasley time on the training ground to work on the small things that the gaffer has been trying to improve on. So all n all I think for once we have a enforced break that could work for us. Also, should we lose any players or bring in any new it gives them time to get to know the others.

would like to add the fact that we now don't have a manager who is pissing off with the Scotland team and leaving the squad to there own devices.

  3. Missed the game yesterday as the wife picked a stupid time for us to go on holiday. However, at the time of booking it I wasn't particularly bothered as for the whole of last season it was really just a case of turning up for games because I'm a season ticket holder. Thanks manly to McGhee after nearly 50 years I had lost all the passion for going to games and even the results weren't bothering me. This season under Robinson the excitement is coming back and yesterday sitting in 39 degree heat in benalmadena listening to the game on mixir I really missed fir park. Reading the different posters today (even the usual negative ones ) there seems to be a feeling of optimism and passion returning with a lot of supporters. Who knows how long it will last but the feel good factor is a bloody great feeling. Anyway back to the sun and look forward to the killie game.

  4. A number of signings that Robinson has made are only 1 year unless they do enough To earn a longer contract. To me this seems to suggest that he would like to be promoting from the 20s next season, if they have progressed to a level where they can step up on a permanent basis. The youth players that are involved the first team at the moment are doing a fantastic job but are they really ready to do the full season? Robison looks like he has a plan for the future. Let's see how he gets on.

  5. I've never had it shoved down mine, and if they did, I wouldn't care. Just smile and say thanks, especially when we beat them

so you've never heard them go on about how the old firms traveling support keeps all us diddy clubs going? Well now we have got our own club admitting it openly. Not only that but putting a percentage on it. Glad you can laugh about it.
  6. I see mr burrows has been in the press going on about how we should all be supporting Celtic in the champions league and how they are solely responsible for 12.5 percent of our yearly budget. Ffs, cheers for that Alan, how often are we going to getting that shoved down our throat by there supporters for years to come.

  7. Personally I think he won't be sold this transfer window, I can see him maybe singing a pre contract with another team in January and then running his contract down so we end up with nothing for him. Its all very well throwing figures about re what we think he is worth etc but if there are no potential buyers out there then he will be staying where he is.

the problem with any of the players running there contracts down is if they sign a pre contract with anyone after January, what type of player would we be left with for the rest of the season? Don't think they would risk getting injured and ruin the chance of a massive wage increase and to be honest who would blame them. However to sell any of our most important players at the end of the transfer window without the opportunity to replace them would be extremely risky. I hate pre contracts, they normally only benefit the bigger teams. Saying that, the whole of football is only structured to suit the bigger clubs now.

  8. I use the Null vote option for all games I don't attend. If you don't vote, each time you visit the thread, the voting options are there and so if you want to see the current standings you need to click the view results tab (or whatever its called)

I'm far too lazy to do that every time :slow:

    cheers
  9. Cedric for me. Whilst he does have some flaws at times I loved his no nonsense approach yesterday and in other matches. Would like to see him push forward on occasion. Out of interest, what's the point to the null vote? Is it the same posters who use this option every week?

  10. For Christ sake. It was a game of 2 halves due to the weather conditions with a strong wind blowing towards the cooper stand. Yet the same folk as always are on here constantly moaning about the team. Aye it wasn't a great performance in the first half but at the end of the game we won 2-0. We have some very good players some decent players and some squad players, isn't that what every club needs? For those who do nothing but persistently moan, in the words of mrs Brown "That's nice"

  11.

If we start picking players based on the reaction they'll get on here, we won't even be able to field a five-a-side team...

don't think for a second the manager would pick a player based on what is said on here. However this is a fans forum where fans discus the good and bad of how the team are doing. It has no influence on what happens at the club, and likewise the club has no influence and probably no interest on what is said on here. It is merely just a load of opinions, some liked some not. Anyway 3-2 to the good guys. c'mon the well.
  12. I've not seen Rohan Ferguson personally but I know from reading other clubs forums that Airdrie fans are always complaining about him and wanting to get a more experienced goalkeeper in. He does have a good amount of first team action for a goalkeeper that age but I find the signing a little strange overall. Wouldn't have been top of my Airdrie shopping list.

As for Louis Moult, there was absolutely no chance he was ever going to sign a new deal. If nothing happens this window it could turn out to be a blessing because instead of having an unhappy player under contract we would have someone with a lot of motivation to have a great season and get himself a big move come May. 20 league goals would get a lot of spotlight.

you do understand he is one for the future and he has gone straight back to Airdrie on loan? As for moult, none of us know what is going to happen until the man himself speaks.
  13. From that perspective, I'm sure you're right.

However, from what the Club and Moult have been saying, it sounds like the plan was always to sell him this season. Which makes sense as having a year left on a contract obviously bumps up the price.

I think all parties would prefer Moult to move on now for a decent fee, but we can't make clubs buy him.

What's more interesting is Robinson saying he has been speaking to a couple of targets and hopes to have new sigings in 3 or 4 days.

And with a massive reading between the lines, the language he was using to describe's Moult's situation sounded exactly like the language clubs use while they are negotiating a transfer with another club. I have a sneaking suspicion (based entirely on that language) there may be a deal in progress.

thats just far to sensible for on here. Sound right though.
  14. According to Luke Watt, both him and Jake Hastie have joined Airdrie on loan. Interested to see how Jake does.

ive been told its under some sort of development agreement which would still allow them to play for the 20s if craggs needed or wanted them.
  15. Yeah, this is my view. I'd like to get more than 500k but I don't think we will unfortunately given Louis's injury and therefore slow start to the season. He's worth more to us than that I think for the reasons you've pointed out.

Great player for us, will continue to be and give 100% too. King Louis.

you're presuming that he would be happy to remain? He was told when he signed that it was to be sold again to make a profit. Holding on to a player who wants to leave and then leaves for nothing makes no sense.
  16. At 500 thousand by the time everyone is paid off there ain't any real money to be made by the club. However a refusal to sign is almost as good as a transfer request at this stage. With the team looking like it's stronger in other areas its time to get the best deal possible and let him leave, giving the manager time to bring in his plan A or B.
