Claret - Pantone 229C Amber - Pantone 1235C Or at least they were
-
The club standarised both claret and amber to pantone references to ensure uniformity going forward. Can't remember what they are exactly but I could dig it out if anyone wants them.

I'd like to think if we're hypothetically targeting Premiership players we could aim a bit better and higher than Vukic with our fictitious monopoly money. I look forward to a few months of randoms being plucked from thin air and shortly arriving at FP on the back of a unicorn.

WIth respect to the players on our books released, no great surprises there, quite a few McCall favourites (Ramsden/Carswell) and fringe players from as far back as Gannon and Jack & Victor. Just goes to show how much we as a club have held out and hoped too many of them would deliver, much to the detriment of the wage budget. But footballers are a high risk investment. As for the loanees released, there's been a lot of talk of Laing. While I think it's almost impossible to pair up two centre halves and have an immediate rapport, I do think that as time has gone on he has improved and built up a degree of understanding with McManus. However I am hopeful that with countless players being released over the next few weeks, our improved scouting structure and contacts, the feeling from within FP at present is that while players like Laing are OK, Baraclough can source much better now urgency and limited options aren't the factors they were in January. Would I give Laing a gig? If I was sure there was nobody else out there better that I could attract and afford then sure and the length of contract allows potential for punting him for a return. You want one year deal Louis? ..... thanks but no thanks. I think the owner understands that loanees offered a solution when the squad was in the doldrums, but they don't answer or will feature in the long term plans. Certainly a couple from highly rated clubs (our links to Everton in the past have served us well), but from mid table Championship down, don't add anything except in emergencies if we are changing our business model. A mediocre loanee only removes a starting place from a home grown player and only one of those options has the potential to make us money. We should only take them if they have the ability to be a cut above what we can attract from the open market. The trade off is the parent club gets their starlet blooded and given competitive game time. I sincerely hope and expect that this thread will be red hot this summer with some canny bits of business and signings that encourage. All this talk of an impressive software system and scouting networks has to return something. I think it's about time to see us pick up a prospect(s) from the lower leagues in Scotland. I also expect that from a mental point of view, pre-season will be punishing as Baraclough will look to instill a mental edge among the squad that no other will be fitter. It seems to be a core idea intrinsic to his ethos. If anyone can recall he suggested that his favoured style of play was to press the opposition when they were on the ball and play high up the park. Something that requires a high level of fitness to maintain for 90 minutes.

Motherwell V The Rangers Spfl Playoff Final 2Nd Leg 31/05/15
Goggles & Flippers replied to Yabba's Turd's topic in Club Chat
All Rangers did was stoke the fire and offer a deflection tactic away from their woeful on field performance, Muy Thai centre half and elements of their own fans who are far from impeccable. If you look at any Rangers boards, all their fans are talking about how much they hate us and security and very little on the actual stuff to do with the white round thing, which to be fair is mirrored on here. About 95% of the posts in the past 2 days have been expressing relief, gloating, poking fun at, questioning stuff going on in the stands and what happened after the final whistle, 5% has been a critique of the players and the game, that despite us hosing them 3-0. Lawwell is the master of it, usually around the time of an AGM with poor results. -

I evidently have too much time on my hands: Not precious about any of the lyrics, so feel free to change anything, just need the Bois to adopt it. And my place in Motherwell fokelore is confirmed I thank you ..... next we have the jugglers -
Some of the Buddies fans think it's actually Accies he's heading to. Just 4 miles out. Most seem pretty upset he's off, he must be a Robbie Savage type figure. As for Josh Law, he deserves a contract for being the only one with any fight in him in deep winter when too many others had tapped out. Never outstanding but safe and for that reason he deserves to be retained.

St. Mirren forum reporting Jim Goodwin signing on Thursday, apparently Bara played with him during his career. Don't know what to make of playing half the season with 10 men.
-
In terms of our recent transfer dealings of our decent assets (Jamie Murphy/Darren Randolph/Mark Reynolds), £500k is decent. However when looking at the likes of the much envied Dundee Utd and Accies, another 6 months on, Lee Erwin could be easily attract £1m if he keeps on the same trajectory. Club muted a few months back they were trying hard to get him signed up on a deal but it looks like he was tapped up before and held out, no doubt realising a better weekly salary as they've saved on any fee's. Don't think offering increased terms last summer would have been an issue, I think he would have bitten McCall's hand off. Just another example of oversight.

Milo, was there anyone in Lanarkshire with a more rampant hardon at 4:45 yesterday than you? Just wondering with your talk of imminent demise, crushing play-off losses and cheeky bastards at the club charging us the same again to go to Dumbarton and Cappilow. -

I don't think seat numbers mean that much, it seemed they congregated roughly together where they could find seats, 3 guys were in the seats my mate and I had. Regardless, 40 is still too many and needs addressed as we're due to host the equally bad East End contingent twice next year. However all of the above only makes a difference if the club can capitalise on the 7,500 Well fans in the ground yesterday, something we've not been the best at doing as a whole. -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwjuKhBIIIQ What is it about Beautiful Sunday's, 2 in 2 years? I would hope a cunning lyricist could change a few words here and there and introduce this into the repertoire alongside the Beatles. Did not envisage in my wildest dreams a 6-1 victory, especially after watching the Hibs game. Mixture of relief and joy at sending the Orcs back to Middle Earth where they belong. I was in the POD and there was a sizable currant bun contingent in there. I suspect many in the past have bought home tickets on the edges of the official allocation and exploited that in the run up to the game. The club needs to draw a line in the sand and add an extra field in their database. Going forward anyone buying a ticket outwith old firm games should get revalidated to ensure they are kept out, inclusion prior to season 2015/16 should count for nothing. That said guys walking into the Chapman and asking for 4 tickets, in the bottom right of the POD should have rang alarm bells. When was the last time you bought a ticket sir? Oh I don't know about 3.5 years ago ....... The toilets during halftime were a sectarian chanting cesspool and the majority of them were sitting behind the kids who did the halftime penalty shootout. The level of antagonism is not something that any home supporter should have to endure at their own ground. And would have turned very ugly, very quickly if they scored. No police presence at all as neither PS or the club officials seemed to notice about 40 guys sitting on their thumbs when Marvin scored. -

Can't we believe we gave them a chance to sing. Squeeky bum time for a shakey defence. Up until then I imagined there may be a new song that we'd sing for years to come. Highlights of the night: McCall scrambling to get the ball back, irony of him standing their while the unwashed sing about not walking away ..... De-lish Peter Lawwell gutted over at the east end sty ... De-lish Monkey of Boxing Day 2002 off our back ... De-lish -
Yeah, Erwin to start and Sutton to come on when their defence is gubbed, cheeky wee late brace as he's done a few times this season would go down nicely. Cue the Daily Record double spread, Law brothers facing each other with fists out, suitably cringie headline using Cain & Abel or Brotherly love in some pun ridden way. Stuart telling how the day will be angst ridden and upsetting no matter the result, I'm dry boaking at the mere thought.

4-5-1 for me, Marv and Ainsworth on the fringes, Skippy sitting deep as he has a good engine to track back and burst forward with Las and Pearo. As for up front, with Marv and Lionel on the wings, I'd be inclined to go with Sutton as he has a knack of getting on the end of crossed balls, however I'm torn between him and Erwin. The big fella never gives up and offers more mobility, however hasn't been as clinical as you'd like this season, partly as he's not played through the centre so I accept that. Dom Thomas to come on to replace Ainsworth if he defaults to ambivalence. As for the back 4, just keep it tight and stay organised, lacking at many keystone cop instances this season.

A record similar to ours, one thing is certain, if Rangers are behind, I fully expect any McCall/Black subs to be made on 88 and 89 minutes, which suits me perfectly.

He's had a better return per than Stuart did until he left. However the question is, if Stuart had access to the mini war chest Baraclough had in January, would/could he have done more with it? This is a results based industry and while they are important, I would like to see what Baraclough can achieve when the malcontents and mediocre are moved on. The only issue is when we've had the opportunity to take advantage of our situation in the past year, we've rarely capitalised. Let's not also forget our woeful cup-tie form, which is what we're going to face. I wouldn't be surprised if the 5 on yellows were rested this weekend and fringe players were used to stake a claim. I'd be interested to see what Dom could do with a start.

Les Hutchison's Radio Clyde Interview
Goggles & Flippers replied to Yabba's Turd's topic in Club Chat
I would have assumed that if we use Les' takeover as the datum, that Ross County, Aberdeen and Celtic have all accrued more points in that time and this 3rd best thing is hard to understand. Looking back over the BBC website the last 10 games has us, Partick and Aberdeen on the same totals, Celtic and Ross County with more (however that quick look only goes back to the 28th of February). It also doesn't take into account the quality of the opposition faced. -

Can anyone explain to me the "third in the league" thing he mentions regularly. He seemed to suggest from when his involvement started to present but I can't get the sums to work. -
I think if I could be arsed to scroll back, you had us playing in the Championship in mid January.
-
Jesus Killie are doing their best to help us out, as were St. Mirren last week beating Ross County and we can't do anything about it. Outrageously frustrating. This is a team who could have held their future in their own hands, however that has been squandered over the past 3 games.
