  1. Have to chip in on Barnstable. Couldn't believe the screaming with the Moult goal, never mind the ranting about the red card that most now seem to agree was deserved. It did seem, according to the commentators, that the ref had it in for us, but it also sounded like we were pretty bad as well. Listening to how bad Accies were just made our effort that much worse, even with ten men. This was a game for the taking but again there didn't seem to be a plan, never mind a strategy to recover from the red card. Can't wait to read McGee's comments, but no doubt he'll be pleased with the point. We might well avoid the bottom two, but that'll likely be due to how bad the bottom seven collectively are, not because of good we are.
  2. Listened to the commentators talk for long periods about many things, so that shows how interesting the game was. Sounded dreadful! But the points are ours. Think the club should give free tickets to all those poor souls who went up the A9. I know how windy it can be around the ground up there, and that wind dominated the game by the sounds of it. So let's hope there is a plan to beat the Accies as they are still a team that can beat us. Nice chance to build a buffet.
  3. With a part-time manager who part-time managed Scotland down to 67th place in the FIFA table, how can we expect anything better? I'm afraid we're in serious trouble unless the Society (owners now) can be strong enough to demand better from the current cast of bad actors, and at the same time scout out a few new players who can actually make a difference.
  4. I think most refs try to be fair, and most supporters from other teams will have somebody they don't like. If they were all full-timers that would be one thing, but they're not, so they're more likely to get it wrong more often. But some are thought enough of to be at UEFA and FIFA events. The people we should hold to account are the players and the managerial staff. Even when we've done well in the league there have always been times when the team doesn't show up, or where the manager hasn't done well with selection and changing. It's been the same this season, and we're where we deserve to be. Inconsistency all over the place, especially from our senior players, when they're fit. I've never really been comfortable with the manager, and I think we suffer from him wearing two hats. Scotland has other options for assistants, but we only have one manager and I feel his mind needs to be squarely on us. So if we could get the players to give even 80%, and the manager to accept his responsibility to turn out a team that's committed to play 90 minutes once in a while, we'd be comfortable in the top six. When Hibs get back next season we'll be hard pressed to make any challenge for sixth. We're just not good enough. Hate to say this, but my confidence this year is down a lot.
  5. O dear what can the matter be??? It's far too early in the season, but it is Annan and the lads need to hammer them. A late goal against agin reminds me of the bad times last season. Then again, maybe I'm asleep and this is all a bad dream!!!
  6. Looks like we're going to rely on everybody else to survive the play-off!!!!
  7. Guess that plan didn't work! Robust Hearts, no kidding!! We're at best a mid-table club with the players we have, but look at the situation today, anybody can be in that 2nd bottom nightmare. So the challenge is pretty straight forward. The question is whether the boss can get enough out of the team between now and the end of the season, and I think the jury is out, given the score is now 5-0. Now the must wins are all within a point and the GA just took a big hit.
  8. Just need to get big John and Higgie back. Then any of the Ancell Babes that are still around, and we'll be all set Just having a laugh lads. We might need a good laugh by the end of the day!!
  9. The game is called football. The object is to score more than the other team. It doesn't matter how good or bad the goals are by either team, you have simply to score more than they do. We haven't been good at either scoring, or defending, so we sit where we do, and that's the reality of it. We need to hope MM can squeeze something out of all of them, but it's still the IB crop on the field and they're just not good enough, not MM's fault. Just hope he's got them sorted out and supplemented/replaced by the end of February. Trying really hard to be positive, really am!!
  10. Like to be a fly on the wall in Barbados next week. Come to think of it I'd like to be in Barbados but will have to settle for Florida!! There's really only so much you can do with the defenders we have, so January will be important, but we really need to score more goals as well. The cupboard is bare, and I don't fancy our chances if we have to play Hibs in a play-off. Can you tell I'm feeling less confident that the crew IB signed just aren't up to the job. Woe is me, need to go lie down on the beach!!
  11. Motherwell beat a Brazilian team, think Santos, 9-3 in the late 50s. Think Ian St. John scored six, Remember the tv reporter on late news saying it was "the best thing since sliced bread."
  12. 3 things: 1. There is nobody prepared to step up and take charge of a game on the field. 2. Somebody needs to tell the players where the goal is. 3. None of them took the owner seriously when he told them what he thought. This is NOT the Motherwell we all knew, and even Crags must be wondering what to do with them. Dynamite comes to mind!

    Baraclough Out

I'm afraid I'm leaning with the out crowd, but only because of results rather than not liking the man himself. With all the changes he's brought about it's now down to him not getting results from the players. Yes, some of them are not pulling their weight, but it's up to the manager to get the best out of them, and to sit them if they won't work. Just wondering if Ian St. John still has a pair of boots because he could probably still knock as many in as anyone in the line up at the moment. This really has to stop, never mind Morton or Partick. When you see Hamilton being the premier team in Lanarkshire you just know the universe is out of kilter, and I was born in Hamilton. It's just not right!!!!!!!
  14. 3 points!!! WOW!!! From a grand total of 3 shots on target. Relieved, but it would be more comfortable if somebody gave them some idea of where the goalposts and the crossbar actually were, and if somebody told them that's what they're supposed to aim at. Sorry guys, just get a bit frustrated that we haven't excited us positively since Rangers.
  15. There's absolutely no excuse for what's going on. This was such an important game to win and the team has not shown up. Make them walk home to Motherwell, manager included.
  16. This was such an important game to win. How can the team not show up for it? Make them all walk home to Motherwell, manager included. There is simply no excuse for what's going on here, none!!
  17. Also thinking Albion Rovers. Surely the manager made them watch that game a few times. Also have to wonderer how he's prepared them for this game.
  18. 19 minutes and it's EF that get the first shot in. Looks like a long night!!
  19. Chomper, you're right of course, but the manager is paid to get the best out of the players, particularly those he's scouted and brought in. Regardless of how Killie played today, I watched them against Celtic (we get live games in Canada), and they're quite capable of a really good game. So, unless we start to do something different playoff is very possible again this year and I don't fancy our chances against Hibs.
  20. We've brought in so many players in the last year, yet, part from a couple of early bits we're getting the same results, so...!!. As an old guy think we need an Andy Paton to shut the gate at the back and take charge, and an Ian St. John who can actually put the ball into the net, not around and over it!! Just sayin'!!
  21. Ugh!! 2-1 Saints. But you have to have staying power, AND, you've got to be able to score more than 1 goal in a game to have any chance against anybody in this league. We're getting lots of shots, but not on target. Over to the manager!!!
