  1. We haven't played in the Europa or Champions League, let's not kid ourselves on here. Playing in a qualifier is nowhere near the achievement of playing in the real thing and therefore comes nowhere near actually winning a domestic competition IMO. As much as I've loved following us around Europe I'd much rather have beat Celtic in the Scottish Cup final a few years ago. One thing is for sure, these are great fucking times to be a Motherwell fan. Champions League or Cup win, we've never had it so good! Savour it fuckers!
  2. By far the most frustrating thing is the fact we appear to have learnt he fucking haw from the previous European ties we have played not only this year but in previous seasons. If you keep doing the same old thing, and worse making the same old mistakes, then you can hardly expect to start wining all of a sudden.
  3. Transfer fees are partly based on players current contracts. The fact that our players are at the bottom end of the pay scale in the SPL means we will always suffer when we eventuially punt them on, even when they are on lengthy deals. Guys like Goodwillie were on good wages when they were sold so United could demand a bigger fee. You can also bet Gunning is on a decent amount too.
  4. Massive congratulations and thanks to everyone involved in organising the display last night. Unfortunately we were stuck in the queue outside and completely missed it. As far as the paper throwing is concerned, it was at worst unsporting and a little embarrassing. However in the grand scheme of things I don't think the club has much to worry about as I can't remember there being any problems at any of our previous European games. I hope the club don't stop this sort of display in the future because of the actions of a few dafties, as it really does make a difference IMO.
  5. From the oficial The Ticket Office will extend its opening hours this week for fans wishing to buy Champions League and Season Tickets. The Chapman Building will be open until 7pm both Tuesday and Thursday as well as Saturday morning – 10am – 2pm.

    Everton

The yellow paint on the South stand stairs was in a right state, get it sorted Motherwell, just not good enough.
  7. Yeah It's now listed in the fixtures on the official Edited to insert hyperlink.
  8. BBC are reporting home leg at Fir Park on Tuesday 31 July, which would make the return leg Wed 8th August.

Was never a 3pm kick of mate
  10. £30 is about what I expected tbh and for a CL qualifier I think it's a fair price.
  11. "We have a duty to act in the interests of our club and we hope these can be reconciled with the interests of the game." There's your answer right there; if voting Rangers out damages the interests (and we know that means financial interests) of the Club then they won't do it.
  12. Ojamma with some nice touches v France and had a great chance to score.
  13. Instantly liked it. Getting purchased for sure, now to loose the gut!

    Pitch Invasion

I seem to mind loads of Well fans heading over to the South stand to noise up the travelling Rangers support a fair while back and that leading to a clamp down on pitch invasions. It's all very well when it's just us celebrating but when you add a couple of thousand disappointed/bitter fans into the mix you have the potential for trouble.
  15. What I worry about is the teams around us picking up points from Celtic who to me were clearly in holiday mode today. Those points could prove vital and i gear that our inability to take advantage today could be what costs us 3rd.
  16. If he got booked for persistent fouling that would have been fair enough but the incident he got a booking for wasn't even a foul never mind a yellow card. Bartley fell into Lasley!
  17. Gutted at the defeat yesterday and thought we deserved at least a point, although we we're undoubtedly lucky not to concede a pen and on another day Clancy could have been sent off for needlessly sticking the head into Whittaker's chest. Brines had another nightmare IMO. Lasley's booking was laughable as has been mentioned and after being ridiculously over officious at our corners he lets Aluko away with the most blatant push in Clancy's back you will ever see, and it happened right in front of him! The game against Hibs next week is massive.
  18. Our first shot was on 60 minutes, says it all really. Pish poor and with results going against us def a day to forget.
  19. I think you (and a few folk on the other thread) are missing the point completely. It's not the fact that someone's dad has passed away, rather it's entirely to do with the circumstances in which it happened. What should have been one of the happiest moments of Liam Kelly's career turned into probably the worst day of his life in an instant. That's why I will be paying my respects on Sat. The events leading up to the 91 final are in no way comparable IMO.
  20. The heartbreaking circumstances more than merit a minutes silence. If that's what Killie want to do then we should respect their wishes.
  21. As tragic as events were, I don't really see the need for the game to be postponed. The players are professionals and it wouldn't surprise me if even Kelly played. You often hear players say that when tragedy affects them, the only place they feel safe is on the pitch, as it allows them to focus and forget about their problems, even if it is for just 90 minutes. If it were used as some excuse to avoid a Old Firm title decided then Scottish football may as well hang up it's boots for good.
  22. Jan Michels stayed next door to me in Wishy during his short stint at the Well.
  23. Is that not why you see the front few rows of grounds cordoned off at the front off the stands, or is that because of the massive advertising boards? I thought it was the Tyncastle pitch that was too narrow?
