I know one who takes in £1000 off a Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Motherwell. It is worth noting that it is not profit, some have to pay radio money, halfers to car owner etc. £50k takings a year is easily achievable - profit less so
You quite clearly don't know the difference between fact and opinion - therefore it will be difficult to argue with you. Thanks for the lighthearted entertainment
There's a lot of assumptions that heneghan is going to be better than both Laing and Kennedy. McGhee would be naive to let Laing go until heneghan has proved himself to be a better option than his rivals - unless of course Laing is one of our higher paid players and sees his freed wage as being a way to bring in an attacking midfielder
That is true. Hopefully that's been the case otherwise he's got himself in to a horrible state of fitness over the summer. Others like McManus and Lasley have managed to be professional and keep themselves in decent shape
I agree. We played ok in spells I would be more concerned if we never created any chances. That said I would expect every team in the top league to create chances against them this season their defence is chronic.
The new guys showed up well as did McManus and, dare I say it chalmers. McDonald and hammell looked grossly overweight
David Turnbull is more suited to playing the advanced role than Allan Campbell. Cadden is currently a better option than both and he has his limitations - his passing is not upto the standard required to play there at this moment in time.
Ripley - a very capable goal keeper. His main strengths are shop stopping and one on ones. Not any obvious weaknesses but is prone to the odd lack of concentration. Our best since John ruddy and Darren Randolph (both international goalies) As others have suggested engages with the club and supporters, not typical of other loanees who only seem interested in collecting a wage and then returning to parent club.
Law - He's not a midfielder which is where we played him for the first 6 months of the season two seasons ago and which nearly led to relegation. Latterly played at full back for us. Positives gets forward well and can play a good cross in to the box. Now for the disadvantages - He struggles positionally at times and switches off at the back post. I cannot see him being good enough to be a first pick at league one level.
Erwin - very good technically and links play well. Best played through the middle either as front man or just off, not as a winger. For his size he's not good in the air. Can score a goal out of nothing but equally likely to miss a sitter.
Robinson - very well thought of. It will be interesting to see how his first gig as manager turns out as good number twos don't always result in good managers.
Good luck
Not sure if we will be paying former players anything. However I agree with a lot of posters why are we continuing to celebrate something that occurred 25 years ago? We could have been proud if rangers Celtic Aberdeen and hearts had a monopoly on the domestic cups over that period but not so - off the top my head Inverness Ross county Dundee Utd Kilmarnock st mirren and HIbs FFS have all tasted success over that period. Also ruins a nice looking strip.
