  1. Think it's more to do with the fact that this time yesterday Alan burrows thought our own transfer window closed at 5pm
  2. He should only be offered a deal to end of season if we have explored all avenues and can't replace him with similar or better quality. This whole faddy pantomime is getting tiresome
  3. His sister in laws involved at Motherwell is she not?
  4. All I can mind of him was scoring twice in the first 8mins or so at cappielow. Us scoring two early goals was virtually unheard of back then which is why I seem to remember it.
  5. Hopefully not the end of the good news today
  6. The rumours regarding faddy is Dumbarton not MLS
  7. I normally agree with most you normally post but suggesting that cadden can step into Pearson boots after his first full 90 minutes at premiership level is insane. A game where he was directly responsible for one of the two goals which we conceded nonetheless. I think you may need to reign in your expectation of the lad a little, as do many yesterday who thought he was excellent. In my opinion no one was excellent yesterday. A box to box midfielder also needs to have some dig and defensive discipline. I don't see cadden having that yet, although I believe there is some merit in being considered in the role he played yesterday. Cadden (and watt for that matter who many believe should also be in first team) still have a long way to go. They have shown glimpses of being capable but no more than that. This time last season Dom Thomas was flavour of the month on the forum and before that there were even clamours for euan Murray to be included in the first team on the strengths of their performances for the U20's. That level is a million miles from senior level. It's always good to have homegrown local lads in the first team and I hope he, and others, succeeds but we shouldn't be setting unrealistic expectations of them. I'm confident the manager will develop them accordingly.
  8. Hamilton had an extra man for about 50minutes that's what happened
  9. Cadden did very well over the piece but if McManus chalmers law etc made a mistake like he did for the first goal they would be crucified on here. The important thing is cadden learns from it and ensures it doesn't happen again. There were no standout performances yesterday. If it was based solely on effort then Mcdonald would have been my man of the match but he's incapable of finding a pass to his teammates right now.
  10. The two posts above are bang on the money. Mcghees predecessors should have addressed this issue. Mcghee should now make it a priority
  11. Zain's Francis Angol equalises for Hamburg v Bayern Munich
  12. Blair Alston from Falkirk should be worthy of consideration for next season - see st Johnstone have offered him a pre-contract
  13. He is a terrific footballer. He played very briefly for a team I was involved in a year and a bit ago but left to have another stab at senior football, which, frankly, is the level he should be playing at. But for some reason or another it's not worked out for him which is a shame cause he's got the talent and he's s decent person in to the bargain
  14. He's getting better every game. The problem that I can see from grimshaws perspective is that, given that he's out of contract at the end of the season, he may want to be seen in and around his parent club so he's not forgotten about. I'm not for a second suggesting he warrants, or is likely to be awarded, a new contract at man Utd but he's been there a long time and may feel that being there between now and the end of the season improves his chances.
  15. Grimshaw til the end of the season would be a great bit of business
  16. Thought Dom Thomas was poor. I'm not ready to write him off just yet but he kills our counter attacks stone dead with his lack of pace. We are a far better team with Johnson as an out ball. It was so obvious the instruction was to get faddy a goal on his farewell. It actually became a pantomime when he came on. Still a professional job done and we are in the next round.
  17. Mcghee has apparantly seen him playing centre mid for England u19's in the past
  18. It was a stonewall penalty. We have reasons to question the refs performance for the first 90 and a bit minutes but I can't see why he could award anything other than a penalty. We only have ourselves to blame for not winning the game
  19. We've managed to keep Paul Slane away from the drugs and hookers, allegedly, and convinced him to come back. He is allowed to wear his 2008 Celtic trackie as a condition of the move
  20. Ripley now official til end of season
