  1. It's Van der gaag according to the BBC gossip, seemingly the German guy has withdrawn and does not want the job Van der Gaag set for Motherwell job - gossip - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/ce3n350w9veo
  2. There's a big difference from looking good to actually being good, as the fact that they are below us demonstrates.
  3. He had his chance, the occasional good game but for me he was not that good, so he would probably be a regular starter in the current team.
  4. Knowledge of the Scottish game would be a bonus, but not essential. Any half competent coach / manager should be able to assess a player's basic ability and application very quickly and determine if they will fit the style he wants to play, so I expect a clear out given the shite we are currently seeing.
  5. Time will tell on that statement, the immediate priority of whoever comes in is to avoid us getting dragged into a relegation fight, the real work starts in the summer. There will no doubt be a massive clear out and the new management can build their team and set their own style of play etc. I hope the club gets the appointment right as we need a period of stability going forward to really build a team and get away from the constant churn of managers and players we've had with Alexander, Hammell and Kettlewell.
  6. A manager of good pedigree to be announced tomorrow, according to Frail https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/14347739/major-update-motherwell-manager-stevie-frail/
  7. No not a member, never joined the WS as I've never agreed with it from the start, our fanbase is too small to make it effective.
  8. That's your problem right there with that statement.
  9. So you were in favour of the Barmack offer then? The lunatics would definitely have been in charge if the offer had been accepted.
  10. Sparrow for me, with a mention for Armstrong oh and Balcome gives me the fear big time, he is dreadful
  11. Just keep an eye on the press photographer's if they are pointing their lenses at the POD, the new manager will be there, either that or you see a few of them outside upper crust before the game.
  12. It was SK who decided to have a meltdown and walk, I got the impression that taking advice from Frail or anyone else was not something he did. So maybe if he had he would still be in charge.
  13. It seems we have a shortlist for prospective managers Ketsbaia on Motherwell shortlist - Thursday's gossip - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c5yen39z1w8o
  14. Maybe our new inexperienced board and WS reps etc are actually doing their due diligence going through each application instead of lining the forms up and using the good guy, good guy, w**k approach to sift out the dross first.
  15. I don't think we will see any of those 3 for the rest of the season Dave, I hope Callachan is being punted during the summer, a complete waste of money.
  16. Our problems are over, apparently Tavares is fit again, Europe here we come 😱 https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2025/02/11/squad-update-ahead-of-ross-county/
  17. Stopping the slump means winning games and that keeps us top 6, so the two objectives go hand in hand. Another 3 maybe 4 wins before the split and the added bonus of a European adventure will be well within our reach.
  18. After today's result at Ibrox, clement might be looking for a job 😂
  19. This game is the very definition of a must win, only 3 points will be acceptable to stop the rot and get us looking upwards. A top 6 finish and a shot at a European place is still very achievable.
  20. Wayne Rooney at 25/1 ffs, 2500/1 would be more appropriate, 😬
  21. That will be the Alexander European adventure where we were beaten home and away by those giants of the European game, Sligo rovers and the Kettlewell cup semi where we threw away a half time lead and were feckin brutal 2nd half and deservedly lost. And you say we were served up shite under other managers, those two should be top of the list, especially Alexander.
  22. Let's be honest we're probably not going to get a manager currently in a job so by definition it's going to be an unemployed or a failed manager that's probably been punted from several clubs in their carreers. So previous records are not that important but what is important is experience of what's involved, dealing with players, used to operating on a budget, good contacts in the game etc. Whoever we get has a big rebuilding job in the summer to build a fit settled team so I hope the board are up to the task and get the appointment right.
  23. We just need Lennon to do the same and we can relax a bit.
  24. His career record as a manager / head coach is not very inspiring, a fantastic player but that's about it, even at 44 he'd walk into our current team and be a star.
  25. Yes thats why they are out on loan to hopefully develop and improve.
