  1. Thats why managers and coaches get paid a decent salary to make these decisions based on their judgement of a players ability and where they will be most effective in the team.
  2. yes it does..they see the players day in day out at training etc so obviously they have decided Law is our best option from what we currently have available. I have said it before if players like Watt etc are good enough and ready for the step up then they will get their chance.
  3. nothing like that, ball came back off Reynolds on the line before Reid tapped it in so perfectly legal.
  4. From google re law 11 offside, Being in an offside position is not an offence in itself; at the moment the ball touches or is played by the player's team, the player must also be "actively involved in the play" in the opinion of the referee, in order for an offence to occur.[

    Baraclough Out

I hope he gets the job then he might try to take some of the shit he signed for us down there with him, Robinson & Taylor for a start.
  6. FFS guys McGhee is the new manager deal with it and move on, judge him on his record from now on all this shit about what he allegedly did 8 years ago is getting feckin tiresome now.
  7. We got Goodman well past his prime but in his day he was a decent player, Blackman also had potential but never showed it. As for the other 3 i agree they were terrible.
  8. A happy Motherwell Fan...thats about as rare as a Rangers tax return on this Forum .
  9. its 4 memorable games for me, 1st was the 91 cup final and seeing us win a major trophy, then the cup winners cup tie in Katowice our first European game. The next 2 are the 6-6 game with Hibs at Fir park what a thing of beauty Jutkewitz's goal was and the last one was against Panathinikos, i never ever thought i would turn up at Fir park to see Motherwell in a champions league game.
  10. All of this angst, soul searching and mock outrage about McGhees appointment is becoming feckin tiresome, its an open forum and people are entitled to their opinions but in all reality apart from a few precious souls on here, do the vast majority of Well fans really give a Feck what he allegedly done or said years ago, i know i don't. All i am interested in is how he sets up the team, gets their confidence back up and gets the winning mentality back, i will judge him on his actions and results from now, not on what did or did not happen 8 years ago.
  11. I know opinion is split on McGhee but he was what th club needed. If Valkari, VDG, Maaskant etc had never played for the club would anybody have mentioned them as potential managers based soley on their records as managers i think not. The club have had their fingers burnt twice now by left field appointments in Gannon and Barraclough so a tried and tested safe pair of hands was required.
  12. The main issue we have is that the fundamental concept of the WS ie fans investing their cash and eventually as a collective owning the club was a non starter, as we dont have a big enough fan base. Now what we have is the money that has been put into the WS so far by those who have signed up is being used to service loan reypayments, possibly pay for club staff (new fitness coach), and who knows what else. So as i see it financial commitments that should be the responsibility of the club have been passed on to the supporters, people signed up thinking they would one day be a part owner not a source of crisis loans for the club. As for Mr Hutchison he could not give a toss about the club, all this community spirt nonsense he spouts is patronising and annoying, he is a millionaire tax exile ffs. I would love to know what sort of security he has on his loan if the club defaults does he end up owning Fir park? The way forward for the club is not the WS yes we probably need an owner to put in some cash, but the club needs to be financially viable ie living within our means maximising the revenue streams and trying to turn a profit. That way we wont need to seek crisis loans from millionaire tax exiles or constantly turn to the fans to contribute more cash for very little in return.
  13. Looking at some of those Twitter comments we really have some arseholes among our alleged supporters, some of them are comedy gold
  14. Pleased with the appointment, he is exactly what the club need right now to get us back on track and aiming for the top half of the table. He has a chance to make an instant impact against Celtic on Saturday, although i suspect whether we win lose or draw, the usual moaning faced Bar stewards will find some fault with him. It will be nice to get back to discussing the footie again.

    Mcghee Out

I feckin despair at some of the pish posted on here, bring back the HOTD
  16. I am not buying this " he treated us badly pish" all he was guilty of was trying to get a bigger and better job and when he got one he left. Nothing there that any one of us would'nt do given the same chances. If he does get the job and gets the team winning again nobody will give a shit.

    Jake Taylor

I dont think he will be anywhere near the Welsh squad, unless he is playing regularly and playing well and so far its only 1 from 2 regular games but utter pish. So unless he improves drastically over the next 6 months his experience of the Euros will be a scottish one ie watching it on tv.
  18. It was not much of a journey for the Polish fans probably 99% of them live in Scotland or the Uk
  19. Thats what he has to look forward to for a few seasons loaned out to whoever will have him until Leeds punt him at the end of his contract.
  20. Its all getting feckin boring now, just wish the club would announce who it is then the usual suspects can get ripped into him about how bad a manager he is. Much more entertaining than the latest odds on a random collection of unemployed managers.
  21. We need somebody who is tactically aware, a good coach and man manager, comfortable with the media etc to recognise a players best position in the team and get the best from him. Somebody who can react to changing situations in the game and alter tactics accordingly. All of this has to be learned so hence the need for an experienced manager. IB was brought in no doubt full of good ideas but it became obvious fairly quickly that he was tactically inept, did not respond to changing situations in the game, wrong team selections, players out of position i could go on, but basically he could not cope with the challenges of the job. That's why with the situation the team is in just now we need an experienced coach/manager to get the squad back on track, my personal choice would be McGhee. Valakari is being talked up and on face value he seems to be doing a good job but there has been significant financial investment in the team so i would assume that the standard of players he has are head and shoulders above the rest of the league, that makes his job easier in the respect that the team never gets seriously challenged, so he does not have to react to it etc. A bit like Sally in charge of sevco when they strolled through leagues 1 & 2, would you class that as a great managerial feat? I am not knocking Valakari as i have no doubt that he probably has a good future as a manager/coach ahead of him but at this time i don't think he is what we need at Fir Park
  22. According to the BBC gossip page we are talking to valakari, story seems to be in the Sun so it must be true http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34462147
  23. Wont be putting any money on it but i would take McGhee ahead of valakari, at this time i think he is the type of manager the club needs, we cant afford any more punts on relatively inexperienced managers
  24. McGhee keen on a return to club management according to the BBC, that may explain the odds shortening. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34449702
  25. Terry Butcher is at Newport county currently bottom of league 2
