  1. Chisolm and Dodds!

fuckin' hell are we that desperate?

Why all the worry, does it matter who we get as the new manager, their previous record or lack of it is irrelevant as they will not be working with the same level of player ie moving from division 1 to SPL players as would be the case for Chisolm. All that matters is their tactical and coaching abillity and getting the best from the resources at their disposal.

We need a quick appointment as we have a run of trick games coming up, so if we get Chisolm and Dodds then so be it, the well fans should get right behind whoever gets the job, and reserve judgement till the end of the season then we can critisise if necesarry.

    Mon the Well

  2. We need a manager who can work on a limited budget and develop the home grown talent we have. Also a manager with respect in the game and a good contact book is essential for unearthing new players and persuading others to sign for us.

We benefited from Butcher as an ex England captain and Brown as ex scotland manager in that respect.

I would not like to see any of the usual suspects get the job, ie McPherson (done nothing with St Mirren, so cant see him being any better with us), John collins ( Lives in Monaco, failed miserably at Hibs, cant work on a limited budget, and a fud into the bargin), John Hughes ( his record at Falkirk and Hibs is enough to bar him from the job)

For all his faults and despite the fact that i think he is a fud i would not be too bothered if McGhee and Leitch came back, :) in his first season he had the team playing some of the best footie i have seen from Motherwell. Ok that was with a better crop of players than we have now but we have the core of a good side, so he might do a turn again.

  3. I hope his behaviour comes back to bite him in the arse. I never like seeing any team relegated but I could certainly make an exception for Aberdeen now. Their conduct has been woeful. An absolute arsehole of a club and if there's any justice, Brown will only have about 10 bob to spend in Jan.

Well done MFC on putting out a strong statement condemning the behaviour of all involved.

Totally agree i have lost all respect for the two of them, but onwards and upwards, i would not be surprised to see McGhee and Leitch back :) but no doubt we will be linked with all the usual out of work suspects.

I hope it all goes horribly wrong for the two faced auld B*st*rd up there, we can get it right up them by winning up there next week. Mon the well

  4. Tweeted by PressSport at 17:55 this evening :whistling:

Had a couple of Dons fans on the phone about CB being linked to Dons post claiming he is meeting W MIller & S Milne in Glasgow 2nite....

Media pish it wont happen, Billy Stark will get the job, you could walk into the bookies and ask for odds on Jose Mourinho for the job and they will quote you but he wont be getting it. So pay no attention to who the bookies or STV etc think are favourites.

Anyway if Brown and Knox go we will get someone else and as long as they do a good job i don't care who manages the team. We could do a swap and get McGhee back

  5. Seem to be an awful lot of people getting the Catholic church and Celtic football club mixed up in this thread

This whole sorry episode originated from someone with obvious Celtic tendancies running to the press and grassing up Dallas, the Catholic church then decided to stick their nose in and bleat to the press, which i am sure ultimately cost dallas his job.

So the two of the are linked, as they always have been since celtic was founded by Brother Walfrid in 1888. So i have no doubt that those in charge at Celtic park were fully aware of the press statements etc from Kearney before they went public.

  6. Anti bigotry lessons what a load of Sh*te they should stick to religion and get their own house in order before shouting at other people. This all stems from the dark lords of the Sith at Parkhead trying to stir up trouble. Their refusal to condem the anti poppy brigade speaks volumes about them.

The church are trying to stir up the dark side members to overthrow the establishment we need to beware and tell them to GTF, where is Obi Wan when you need him ;)

  7. I've already applied, if you get my DRIFT...

    WELL PISTE OFF!

ANOTHER COLD DAY IN SP HELL!

GAME ON? NOT A SNOWBALL IN SP HELL'S CHANCE!

    Easy money. <_>

You really have too much time on your hands, those headlines are shocking

  8. Sutton linked back down south. No quotes or anything. Looks like an agent trying to smoke out offers either from us or clubs down there.

Craig Brown should get a new contract sorted out for Sutton, he is a decent player who gives us a bit of a target up front. We will be very short of goal scoring options if we lose Sutton and Blackman in January .

  9. the staff up at ravenscraig are honestly taking the piss this week, our game is being played and whilst its on 4 young guys decide to steal a bottle of powerade from one of the trollys. we then had the assistant manager come in to us and basically said they where with the team and he was phoning the police. he then come back and accuses one of our committes boy of knowing the guys, all because he had the same coloured tracksuit as them.

he's leaving the hall when i asked him how he came to the conclusion that the boy knew them. he said well what does it matter if he knows them or not if he does hes not going to say is he. i then told him that the lad was part of our group and that the guy he had been talking to was his father he then says which team are you. takes the team name and says well im going to cancel any serial lets you have till this is sorted. i asked him if he was an idiot he just walks away. he later informs our committee that he has been verbally abused so our committee say well after the game to point out who its who abused him.

game finishes and our manager goes to get him he refuses to come in but gives the number 3 as the person who abused him (me).

he then says he now knows the guys werent with us and everything is ok.

now i know its a bit longwinded but if thats what he calls abuse then he must be a bit fragile make you think what was really said the other day tho !!!!!!

Manager sounds like a real jobsworth prick

  10. I may be getting Cynical or paranoid or both but i have heard rumours that the games were called off as the referree's are still pissed off that they have had no firm commitment from the SFA to deal with Celtic, the bad weather may have been a conveient excuse

If most of the English games can go ahead with more snow than we have, police dealing with crowds of 25 to 40,000 safely and everyone getting about, then why do Strathclydes finest have problems with the massive 3,500 or so that we would have got at Fir park, its nonsense.

  11. next two lines

HE STICKS THE BAW IN THE NET, ESTABAN CASAGOLDA

HE'LL TEAR U APART, ESTABAN CASAGOLDA

Esteban who ??? what a great piece of business he was, is he permanently injured or just pish ? either way singing songs about him is just wrong :wallbash:

  12. am i the only one who still has nightmare's about this game?

3 great away game's missed and money in the bank

+ 1  Since i started going to Fir park nearly 40 years ago i waited for Motherwell to win something big, then in 91 we won the cup, the next challenge was Europe and get past the qualifying rounds and into the tournament proper. After knocking on the door against AS Nancy i really thought we would take the step into the group stages against Odense and we fecked up. :O We missed a big big chance against a very ordinary team to raise not just Motherwells profile but scottish footballs as well.

It took me a few weeks to get over that game, still we need to make sure we are in there next season for another attempt, as the Fanzine says " Waiting for the great leap Forward"

  13. I wouldn't put it past Boyle to offer both the chance to resume their managerial careers with Motherwell. Wee Craig can't go on forever.

I hope John Boyle has more sense than that, the two of them had a chance but f*ck*d it up big time, 1 decent season was all we got, although i think that a lot of that was due to the way the team responded to the O'Donnell situation rather that any tactical expertise from McGhee and leitch.

Brown and Knox wont be there for ever and i am sure Boyle already has idea's about replacing them when the time comes, but please not this pair of Fud's :O

  14. I'm sure I'd have been chuffed if someone had said "they had the good sense to pre-book"

    Jobsworth pricks.......

Totally agree, they should be encouraging their local club to use the facillity, Oh sorry i forgot its North lanarkshire council, so i suppose the wee ginger ar*e and his celtic team will have a block booking

  15. I might wrote to the SPL/SFA and demand clarification. Is this part of an anti snow agenda ?

Celtic will be seeking clarification from God about the weather, they think the snow is to help Rangers through their injury crisis. Conspiracy what conspiracy, The truth is out there. :whistling:

  16. They are going to be under new management by then after McGhee going tonight.

Its official McGhee has been sacked, the FUD deserved all he got what a waste of space :whistling: according to various media reports Billy Stark and Strachan are being quoted for the job.

  17. I watched the game top class stuff from Barca, but Real madrid were utter sh*te, even Motherwell would have run them close :P no game plan other than assault messi at every oportunity, no committment after Villa's goal they seemed to chuck it.

But i agree with the original post, Jack and Victor should sit the team down with a DVD of the game and let them learn how the beautiful game should be played, we are never going to have the talent at that level but we are capable of the workrate, organisation and the commitment, which should be ok for the SPL

  18. Taking the "popegate" e-mail thing aside, Hugh Dallas will be a loss to Scottish football and the SFA. He was one of our better refs and is highly regarded by UEFA/ FIFA. The SFA have dealt with this issue very badly, we have enough problems with refs without forcing some to retire and sacking others.

But that said change was needed the referrees were accountable to nobody, so they have done what they liked for years, so if the result of all this is a restructured SFA, better refereeing standards and a better dialouge between clubs and match officials then i welcome it.

However the first thing the new kick ass SFA should do is deal with Lennon, Reid and Hooper at Celtic, set an example and get some of their authority and respect back

  19. Just on the News, all SPL games and ALBA cup final to go ahead at the weekend. SFA still working to secure more refs for SFL games, which is unfortunate

Looks like a bunch of European mercenary refs will be in charge this weekend, if there is another disputed decision against Celtic will they seek clarification from the SFA or UEFA :drinks:
