  1. Is that a personal opinion or a statement based on other inside information, ie has he been seen buying a roll at Upper crust?
  2. We don't have 5k of a core support, more like 3 maybe 4k on a good day but that's no excuse for not getting behind the team so I hope the fans do just that and support them, as long as the team do their bit as well.
  3. He was always at best an average player with a below average goal scoring record, we got an excellent 4 or 5 months from him before he reverted to type. The only thing he's ever been really good at is making a decent living all based on one wonder goal against Barcelona over 10 years ago, a proper football mercenary well past his sell by date.
  4. For me Holloway always came across as a bit of an arrogant arsehole anytime he was interviewed, he loved himself. I think he would be a poor fit for the club so I hope he's nowhere near the job.
  5. Hanging on at the end.....i dont think so Kelly never had a hard save to make 2nd half, all routine catches, St Mirren never came close to scoring anytime after their goal we defended and played well. As for the standard of Scottish football it is what it is, seriously what do people expect to see from two smaller clubs on a wet midweek night, it's never going to be an El Classico, if you wanted good silky football etc you should have stayed at home and watched the Arsenal v man city game, as you are never going to see it at Fir park.
  6. It was a better balance but the old frailties are still there, after St Mirren scored we reverted to booting it long for a while missing the midfield completely. The biggest welcome change was the attitude of the players, they challenged hard for every ball, the midfield were winning the ball and creating chances for the front two, and generally looked well up for the game. Casey and Butcher were excellent, two solid enforcers that the team has been missing.
  7. I would be OK with Jack Ross, he's an experienced manager, got 1 or 2 failures on his CV but so has every other applicant. I hope its not a short term "keep us up" deal we are offering as the club needs stability so someone in for the longer term is what's needed.
  8. No it's not, the phrase you used translates to "Pure and will bring them to the stars" Onwards and upwards literally translates to "Porro et sursum
  9. Successful managers with no failures tend not to be unemployed and applying for jobs with Motherwell, so we are going to end up with someone whose record is probably not the best, but that's where we are so no point in worrying about it. Every appointment is a punt you hope pays off, this is no different.
  10. For once a tough choice was between Spittal and Johnston for me, both were excellent but gave it to Spittal thought he had a great game.
  11. Spot on Dave, St. Mirren were brutal tonight, kicked it long, chase and run all night but nobody will report that they never looked like scoring 2nd half
  12. Dont want to see any off the following starting O’Donnell, Goss, Slattery, Danzaki or Tierney......... thats what you said, implying you think They are not worth starting ie shite... or did you mean something else?
  13. That's not bad for this forum, Danzaki has just about played 2 games and that's him being written off as shite, normally it's about 45 mins or so 🤦‍♂️
  14. Let's be honest pretty much every manager likely to apply for the Motherwell job is going to have at least one, maybe two failures on their CV's so no matter who is selected its going to be a punt. But previous records don't mean they won't do well and be a good fit at Fir park. I hope we get someone in who is prepared to stay longer term even if the worst happens and we go down, as its going to take a few seasons to get the club stabilised and back on track.
  15. Probably somebody from EK enquiring about joining the Well Society
  16. The club needs stability so for me a longer term appointment is needed, somebody coming in who is prepared to stay, work with reduced budgets etc and finish the job, in case this season goes Pete Tong and we are relegated.
  17. Spot on, my thoughts as well its the same people that made the wrong choice appointing Hammell, I am also not confident they will get it right this time.. I know there is still time to save the season but for me it's going to take a lot longer to get the club back on a stable footing so this decision is crucial.
  18. The sun running the story as well now https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/10217656/brazil-inter-milan-motherwell-job/
  19. Lambert is in the sun today saying he is not interested
  20. If it is a normal scheduled meeting I would assume that given the present circumstances there would only be 1 item up for discussion, who is in the frame for the managers job. The board can't dither or delay on this as whoever comes in needs as much time as they can get from the games remaining to keep us in the premiership.
  21. That's 1 name off the list for new manager, seems Lambert is not interested https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/10211939/lambert-motherwell-manager-job/
  22. Is this Kettlewell putting himself forward for the managers job, seems like it to me Motherwell: Players 'must take accountability' for Hammell's sacking, says Kettlewell - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64618447
  23. Spot on, they are 2 managers with recent experience of the league we're in I'd rather have them in than the likes of Lambert who's been out of management for years and knows feck all about the current Scottish game.
  24. "Things are changing" at the club, if Kettlewell says "I'll try something new" then on "reflection" we might keep in "Touch" with the pack, otherwise it will be "nothing but heartaches" I thank you
