  1. I think undeserved away goals should count double...
  2. I don't think the shot was on target, otherwise I'm sure the ambulance service would be rushing to the dug out to treat Mr B
  3. I'm in my fifties Ghosts of Clyde Queens Park(twice) Laughing at me in my head
  4. How does this pan out? Replay? Extra time? Penalties? Rock/paper/scissors?
  5. For me it was the sideburns Took an extra yard for a winger to get round them. But -Willie McVie- now that was a perm- and nobody danced round the big chap for fear of a wee trip to the Law
  6. Best of the rest to scraping about in the nether regions of the division in the space of 12 months Yup, we've fallen
  7. The point being- we have fallen far,4 straight defeats and defending like the Helen Keller ensemble My post applies to all games for the foreseeable future I'm afraid
  8. Aye sadly we've been dishing out the 2 for 1 deals too often lately- on the goals front . I think we need to roll out the Dave Bassett- ICT style - FOUR FOUR FUCKING TWO! we need to be harder to beat . Two inconsistent wingers who don't do enough in the attacking sense, or in the way of backing up the error prone fullbacks- a luxury we can ill afford . Play it tight, safety first- I'm all for the West Ham Way/ Newcastle's " we'll score more than you" idylls But the priority is stopping the rot for now I'd have Kennedy and Chalmers at full back, give Ainsworth and Johnson a half each max. Lasley Leitch McDonald in the middle Moult and Clarkson / Fletcher if fit up front, working their bollocks off shutting the defence down 100% concentration 100% application From first whistle to last GET IN ABOUT THEM!
  9. Stephen Hughes v Stephen Pearson? Hardly like for like When the game gets competitive Hughes disappeared whereas Pearson wants a sway are go Hughes got injured by getting kicked Pearson by kicking everything No comparison whatsoever
  10. Not sure endlessly adding to the squad will help. I'd hold off now and see what's needed in January to give a bit of impetus then What's needed right now is for each player to take a good look at himself and decide whether they are up for a fight. And if they are, what's stopping them- too many times they have just faded out of games. When the going gets tough.... Actually, let's sign Billy Ocean
  11. The issue is that the Kaiser , Lambert and big Buff weren't on loan- if Taylor takes til January to start contributing them what was the point in playing him?
  12. Ainsworth and Johnson are typical wingers in our price range. Hugely erratic form and patchy commitment to defensive duties. Not given to slavishly following team orders either. For what it's worth I don't think starting them both regularly is helping, we need to be tougher to beat. I would sacrifice Marv in the games we play against the more lowly sides. They sit in and he can't stretch his legs, save him for games when we're penned in. Oh and tell him to at least learn how to challenge for headers, truly embarrassing watching him, Ffs Stevie Hamell is 5 foot nothing and wins 80% of his headers As for throw ins, our predilection for leaving the taker standing like a f cking lemon for what seems an eternity before anyone shows for it? Ridiculously, I cannot remember a 'Well side that didn't do that- and I'm talking watching us first hand for knocking on 50 years. Somebody please coach them. Watch quality sides, ball goes out - nearest guy picks it up and throws it instantly to the nearest team mate, momentum maintained, simples....
  13. So what is the answer? Play the weans at Methil , and risk a morale humping defeat? Not a chance, he will stick by his signings and hope they have the balls for the fight. The margin between success and the sack will be defined in the next seven days. We're lacking application and belief. But history shows we have a habit of cycling between runs of defeat followed by runs of results, ad nauseam... In practical terms we are stuck with what we've got, the coffers simply wont allow endless additions . Siege mentality required, and I'm not convinced it's there. Too much" we've been undone by odd errors " They all need to stand up and be counted. It's as stark and simple as that .
  14. We need to get a grip all round here. Highlights show we had numerous chances / we can't stop runs / we don't pick up forwards driving in at the near post. Fortunately there's other shite teams in the division. Young guys will have their day, but we just need to get solid and grind a result out
  15. Personally I'd have no truck with poncy dayglo boots and twatty under armour either Bring back the Tomlinson T while we're at it..,
  16. Cliché's post match prognostication on MFC TV. I'm very tired of his calm reasoned chuntering, bland observations and bemoaning of the same errors every week, like a stuck record. The trip to Methil is giving me the fear too. The light at the end of the tunnel? -Gary Locke sitting on the front of the oncoming Saturday train... Through thick and thin, you're not kidding
  17. Hammell subbed at half time I see Injured Or Shit? Cap'n Cliché neglected to mention it on BBC,
  18. Turgid shit-fest, lit up by Big Handsome remaining on the bench while Jake Taylor scores an injury time winner from an aimless punt up the park. In this manner legends are born...
  19. I've always wanted to know the right way to Oldham, Matron...
  20. Hang on , I'll nip over and give him a lift, save him a taxi fare...
  21. Next it'll be" the boys have had 3 games in 8 days..." Play them a Tour de France/ Giro D 'Italia/Vuelta compilation. I think it's the recovery/ injury avoidance that the fitness guru will earn his corn
  22. Maybe it's a Sanity Clause, mind you some say there ain't no Sanity Clause...
  23. Fair point, I'm more of a Laughing Cow than a Dairylea man myself. I'll settle for pairings then we can ramp it up to triangles once we've nailed that down.
  24. I think the reason Gannon got shot down for the throwing it to full backs was because it wasn't an OPTION- it way the only way he allowed it, ffs Crags got subbed for shelling the ball long. Took about three games for opponents to rumble us, and just sit tight on our back four, rendering us incapable of getting the ball on the move . I'm fine with mixing it up, not a fan of lumping it to an isolated forward. Moult won a few, Marv n Lionel clearly missed heading classes, quite pathetic that The Big Chap has the proverbial biscuit tin for a heid. Wee ball over the top might make use of the pace available. Pairings need to work together - Hammell and Johnson, McDonald and Moult, Laing and McManus, Lasley and ?, Law's feet and his brain...
  25. A question of tactics, when we played the diagonal ball to Moult when he was up against the full back, he won every ball in the air- and attempted to actually knock it inside to McDonald- f ck me, that could be in danger of being a- partnership, whit next?
