  1. Love the Pettigrew/Graham tribute style. Magical memories warching us in it. I remember buying from the club shop in Windmillhill street beside the Civic Centre. Always went down well wearing it at PE in Glasgow, I've been spreading the gospel to the Weegies since the 70's!
  2. Don't see a parallel with the Kampman shambles. IB has solid grounding in British football and our scouting network will be well placed to sift through the hordes of guys freed as the cost cutting sweeps every division. Perfect opportunity to pick and choose- it's an employers market , ouwith maybe the top 5 percent- and we don't exactly shop in that store, do we?
  3. I think we are better placed for a solid cohesive preseason preparation than for years- no Europa League tie against FC Who from Fuckknowswhere after one friendly . New fitness regime and opportunity to get new bodies gelling nicely to get off to a decent start Bring it on!!
  4. Vigurs looked a class act- for about 20minutes in his entire stay at Fir Park. By all accounts he trained like a beast and was amongst the fittest in the squad pre- injury- none of which explains his predeliction for jogging aimlessly round the centre circle like Willie Young the ref on a Saturday afternoon Guys with skills like him and that kind of attitude must burst your heid if you manage them That said, what price a Lazarus style resurrection back to County and lashing in a treble against us! Cheers Vigs, thanks for the (non existent) memories
  5. Sadly I feel the opportunity to become a first pick on the teamsheet was not grabbed at all by the now-departed Stuart Crabswell- I fear he watched too many Ray Wilkins and Fud Ferguson videos. Incapable of a forward pass. Disappointing to see a prospect going backwards in every sense. I see a lower league future ahead for him.
  6. I got the impression we signed Nathan Thomas while we were unsure about capturing Big Marv, only room for so many rapid left wingers. Marv was en route to sign for another club when we finally got him. Just wasn't meant to be for Thomas Big list of departures posted on Club site, in the cold light of day I would struggle to argue with it though Skippy would be a coup , but a blind man could see how much he has to offer and the list of clubs able to offer him a bigger payday must be considerable Erwin's head will be turned by English riches, Handsome John has his detractors but delivers goals consistently and will have better service than he had for most of the season. Ainsworth, an enigma, a steal if he knuckles down but is a risk. On the Mohsni stramash , Erwin s yellow, Kerr's one game ban , Ainsworth and Moores accepted 2 game ban - seems to be about right to me The pitch invasion and Orc bating will be dealt with by a much bigger stick I fear though.
  7. Ironically Erwin's cash will help with the club's fines. He could do us a turn if he stayed but I think he's benefited from Skippy's presence and I assume Skip will depart. £300k and Leeds sounds like the likely outcome. Should we re-sign Sutty? Big Marv could offer assists galore. Craig Moore looks like another in the mould of Coakley and Mc Hugh , not making the necessary step up . Questions questions.. Renewed our Season Tickets today and persuaded my mate to return to the fold, good day all round really
  8. I think the fact that there's a Plan A is a huge improvement on the survival mode we've been in. Sadly, surviving by finishing second every season just isn't going to happen. It's a process that is ongoing and will take time to develop. Signings need to be made to help bring on the home grown youngsters . The fitness and physio guys are probably the best value signings of all.
  9. Feck Ramsden- he's got chocolate hamstrings and a suspect temperament- playing him as fifth man in the midfield would be up there with the McCall master stroke of playing Stevie Hammell there - no no no!!!
  10. I'm happy with Law signing up. He seems to have settled in at right back spot. No Hateley-esque delusions of being a midfield maestro. Give me him over Reid any day, who wrote himself into the history books but is a journeyman trier at best. Be interesting to see how Law will interplay with an actual wide right team mate rather than with Grant(utterly out of place out wide) or Ainsworth( who just doesn't contribute often enough)
  11. As long as the the ref isn't the ghost of JPR Gordon ( hampden semi 1976, I can still get f*cking angry thinking about that) maybe karma will be restored and we will finally be on the favourable end of a decision or two.
  12. Straker? Ainsworth??? You are having a laugh aren't you? Straker had a sound game yesterday but prior to that he has been an utter liability. Other teams (successfully) targeted him as a weak link and gunned us. Ainsworth turns on the style far too seldom, we can't start him in the faint hope he's gonna bother his arse. He could wear his kit from yesterday , never raised a bead of sweat in 45 mins ...
  13. I think Clubber Lang will start beside Mick. O'Brien is a bit basic I think our best weapon will be the sheer smug assumptiveness emanating from Castle Greyskull.
  14. Dan looked assured today, but it wasn't exactly a pressure cooker atmosphere. Food for thought though Watt was impressive, composed on the ball and passed it well. Next season will be his big chance. Straker was laughably good at times- still a bombscare of a footballer though Moore disappointed Thomas lacks physique, but he can work on that Crabswelll? Side to side to side , his race is run at Fir Park Moore isn't sharp enough , or composed enough Mr Ainsworth should be bossing a game like today, but sadly just didn't look arsed, must be a frustrating man to manage This told us nothing about the play- off, not a single thing. Maybe that's the masterplan?
  15. Refs have added a whole new level of entertainment to matchdays this season- a sort of Dadaesque surrealism, which leaves you wondering wtf is going on from one minute to the next. Like a sort of parallel universe- I say you crack on lads, and if your parents ever decide to marry, I will be genuinely happy for you...
  16. Mr Hutchison seems to have ruffled a few feathers with his approach to ST pricing. I'm afraid knock down ticket prices will deplete resources and the quality of player will suffer. Not pleasant to be faced with the stark facts but better than wishing for Harrods products on Aldi wages... Time to wake up and smell the coffee I'll renew happily, in it for the long times, not just the good times
  17. Not sure who mentioned miracle. I think the leadership problem was more down to the hiatus between McCall baling out and the ownership issue being resolved, KB took the helm and carried on doing exactly the same fruitless stuff As SMC.By the time Baraclough got the job the malaise was even more entrenched and the injury list was even longer. I'm still to be convinced that the new guy is the right man, but I think he was dealt a properly shit opening hand. His transfer dealings give me cause for concern though, and loan players are not what I would pin my last hopes on. They mostly look as if their tools have already been put away.
  18. Reality check time. Success is cyclical, three seasons as best of the rest has been brilliant. At the risk of sounding like an old codger, this is part and parcel of following the 'Well. Anyone expecting us to continue to produce miracles on an ever shrinking budget year in year out needs to lay off the happy pills. The Les Hitchison-led era sounds refreshingly like a structured plan that will shape the club into ongoing viability . A man who has looked at putting in place a business model that doesn't smell of hand to mouth survival with a very few people doing a host of jobs. A focus on signing up youth prospects and generating transfer revenue and every other conceivable source of earning? What better time to have a massive clear out and start to build. Meantime yes I'll be there for the Jags game, and the play offs AND whatever/wherever that takes us to 'Well Fan For Life? Too right I am...
