  1. Something for you, MJC: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Power-Positive-Thinking-Norman-Vincent/dp/0749307153/ref=sr_1_1?crid=8KYI4JJGMKQ4&keywords=the+power+of+positive+thinking&qid=1692031393&s=books&sprefix=the+power+of+positive%2Cstripbooks%2C81&sr=1-1
  2. On reflection re your second paragraph, when was the last 'Well manager who lost only 2 out of his last 20? Might have to go back to the league-challenging 'Well teams of the 30s for similar or perhaps a stat. from the Ancell Babes era.
  3. Which is why criticism of Kettlewell at this stage (from some on here), given his stats, seems quite perverse. He has actually quite a threadbare squad in some areas yet hasn't lost an away game and has only lost to The Hens and (unaccountably) Dundee Utd. at Firpers. Interesting match coming up in Paisley.
  4. BBC Scotland were looking forward to Hibs' mouth-watering forward players at 2.30 today. Must have a fair drouth on them by this time.
  5. Mika was the man who changed the game so pretty straightforward. Slattery looks much more eager this season. Miller's through ball for the winner was a beauty.
  6. Please note: "the sword which cuts both ways", grizzlyg.
  7. So we Hibs it against Hibs? Surely not! 2-1 to The Good Guys (hat-trick for Wilkinson, the sword which cuts both ways).
  8. IIRC, the EK supporters' bus version was a prim "got beat 5-2". No alcohol on that bus.
  9. Ha! Ha! Age-related appreciation, obviously 🤣 !
  10. David Turnbull starts for Celtic today. Maybe Mr Rogers knows his stuff after all.
  11. I was mainly thinking of Colin O'Neill but I batted that idea away at the last minute. If he's anything like Alexander the Great, he could be quite good 🤣.
  12. Hope our Macedonian chooses Davor Z as his jersey name: hints of Dracula with just a suggestion of psychopath, ideal for a midfielder.
  13. Would you say he was a bit of a headbanger then?
  14. Although Dunne The Bun in his first incarnation was ok as far as man-bunned LBs were concerned. Maybe we could get SF to sport a claret &amber Alice band instead (now sometimes called a Grealish). He's not a prolific scorer but his linking play is rather good and he's still pretty fit and mobile for an Auld Yin. I hear he has earned eye-watering sums via his various transfers ablaw the dyke and so he may not be too hard to deal with if he wants to stay in the SPL and play in a great strip 🤣. We would then need a Poundshop KVV to play alongside him, of course.
  15. Yup, always loved the classic "floodlight strip" as it used to be called. Last season's white outfit was pretty nice too.
  16. A real hoop? My flabber is well and truly gasted. Let's hope we can get the players to fill the jersey.

  18. Thanks for that. After last season's kit, I fear that a similar "reworking" of the 1996 Jester's Outfit for '23-24 would just about finish me off.
  19. Does anyone have any idea when the new kit will be out?
  20. Personally, I think Furlong will go a long way.
  21. For me the strangest statistic of the season, which was a binfire for us for several months, (according to the BBC Sport page, admitttedly) is that only Celtic and Rangers conceded fewer goals than wot we pure done. Mind you, thank God for Butcher and Casey: Bevis was so far off it today I felt sorry for him (In between swearing at him). He's not good enough even as a back-up at this level. Same for Mandron: Obika did more in ten minutes than he had managed in the game. He has no idea when/where to run and has a thruppeny-bit heid (for older fans only, obvs.). Big job for SK to rebuild the squad but I feel he has the skills for the job. HIS stats are quite amazing. How much are we prepared to accept for KVV?
  22. Yes, he's a cocky bugger. I just wish more Scottish players were as gallus (with some talent to back it up, admittedly). The Dutch don't give a flying fruit bat for anyone. As we say in Hamilton: mair pooer tae yer elbuck (yer actual Dutch).
  23. Yes, forgot about that. Casey's looks quite bad (it was a brave challenge) and Furlong seemed in some pain also: fingers crossed for them but I'm a bit concerned that's their season over. And as you said up thread, players shouldn't be allowed to crowd the ref when he's looking at the VAR screen in an attempt to influence him. Even King Kevin was at it 😈.
