  1. I could never say that of an EK bus member of old, when we filled a 72 seater every week 🤣. #Blyth The Driver Was God.
  2. Your humour is timeless 🤣.
  3. Some really good finishing and assists: sorry to see him go. Didn't we get £100,000 for him?
  4. That may be true but Alan turns up in the POD quite regularly to support The 'Well.
  5. Nice to see the old above-the-hoop numbers making a comeback.
  6. Yes, I remember that one. Not bad at all if you forget all the other historical options.
  7. Oh, yes. Been a great seven days for me: intimate prostate examination last week (ooh, matron!), root canal treatment begun yesterday but eventually (winces) abandoned in favour of an extraction and today I have to thole this crapola. As Renton almost said, "It's shite being a "Well fan!" 😱. Ahoo! Werewolves of London!
  8. Well, at least I got my hands on a proper MFC jersey last season. Cheap-looking and the white stripe just makes it worse. The ancient yoke strip was abandoned for obvious reaons but if you had to ditch the hoop or even advertising band I could have lived with C&A stripes for a season, which we wore in the early 20s. Was some interior designer with blue specs hired at great expense to troll the club's identity? That is all, short of a lot of swearing, e.g. hooring fuck.
  9. Never heard of The Multiverse? 😂
  10. That long-range effort will never be forgotten......
  11. Thanks for going to the trouble of totting the MoTMs al up. Gent certainly gave us some real attacking options in the absence of a winger. Pity he's unlikely to return on loan or as a signed player. I suspect Lennon Miller might have given him a run for his money if he hadn't been absent for over a month with his injury.
  12. Yes, back when we pretty much copied Bradford City's jerseys until we introduced the hoop a few seasons later. It's a great strip that but BC have been guilty of producing some pretty horrible strip designs when they could have stuck with that one with a few adjustments from time to time. Mind you, you could say the same about us 😱.
  13. Yes, you can see the full story here: http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Scottish_Football_League/Motherwell/Motherwell.htm I rather like the black socks with c&a turn-overs from the early 50s but I don't think they'll make a comeback, unfortunately.
  14. Quite right but I think that may have influenced the reduction of the hoop to a bar at the front of the jersey, despite the fact we were unlikely to compete in the later stages of any European competition.
  15. Have to say that this is one of my concerns. We reverted to a traditional jersey despite some claims on here that this was not possible because of some Euro-regulation regarding clarity of design which virtually outlawed the hoop. Frankly I'm expecting change for change sake and so probably a worse design for the coming season. I really hope I'm proved wrong. And does anyone know when we can expect the new one? Probs when we all come back from our holidays.....
  16. "Remember that name, Craig Moore!" Eh, well.........
  17. You're wise! Sorry, couldn't help myself.......
  18. Thanks for that. Memory failing me like the rest of me 😱.
  19. Thanks for that about Andy Weir: wasn't absolutely sure. Andy always looked so old and frail to me when I was a wee boy but i don't think he ever fully recovered from the meningitis he contracted after his head injury against Third Lanark.
  20. Joe McBride certainly and a distant Andy Weir?
  21. White shorts? Agreed but that's the Marmite option for many 'Well fans.
  22. Yes, that made it so much worse.
  23. Yes, the only bad memory for me was that latterly there seemed to be a lot of greyhound turds lying around Shawfield on match days. Sad to see the decline of Clyde. Think they should have moved to EK and tried to build up their support from there.
  24. Agreed. As my Dear Old Dad used to say, at Shawfield you could hit a ball in Lanarkshire and score a goal in Glasgow. Also the site of the great Clyde substitution urban myth, "Goad! Theyr'e takin' aff Ahern and bringin oan a haddie!"
