Given the timing, two days before the new league season kicks off, and with a squad on its arse and devoid of confidence and ideas, the next managerial appointment we make has to be absolutely spot on.

Burrows and the board simply cannot afford to get this one wrong.

Personally I would be approaching Partick Thistle and asking to speak to Ian McCall. I don’t know that he would even be remotely interested in it, but I would certainly be asking him. I think he would be a perfect fit for us just now.

I think we should be looking for better than McCall.

what I do admire is your loyalty

This is not about Loyalty Yodo I’m simply stating my view on when I think it makes sense to sack a manager and when not. If you trust a manager after the last game of the season and allow him to sign new players. Why would you no longer trust him before a single league game has been played the following season ?

However I do think loyalty is incredibly important in life in general and hope I show it to everyone I care about.

Thought he would be gone by now to be honest, worrying that he still hasn’t been sacked.

I’m surprised so many people are expecting him sacked today. I still think the time to do that was the end of last season, not giving someone the summer and allowing him to sign players only to then sack him before a ball had been kicked in anger in the league. For me you either get rid of a manager end of a season and if not they get a few league games. It’s not as though the form was good from December onwards.

I was prepared to give him a chance but  after watching that pish tonight he has to go now, those tactics and refusal to change will  get us relegated, do for me feck the cost and get him  to feck, what's the cheaper option sacking GA or the cost of relegation, get him to feck.

I’m still of the opinion he will be given a few league games. Relegation would certainly cost the club more but without a game even being played yet, and given the fact they trusted him enough to keep in in the summer it would be some u turn. Relegation is never a certainly regardless of how often it’s stated, at this point it’s certainly not positive, but it’s not bottom two with two games to play either.

Sack Alexander who is on a contract until 2025 and his backroom team will cost in excess over half a million? we dont have that money to burn and have money for 4-5 new players and a new manager and his backroom team as well.

Which is why I don’t expect it to happen.

Top 4.  Rangers, Celtic, Hearts & Aberdeen
Top 6.  Utd & Hibs likely to be there.  Potential for 1 or 2 clubs to get ahead of Utd/Hibs but on paper they should be ahead.
6-12  the rest are fighting it out .

Expect us - better than 9th.

I’m not sure Dundee United or Hibs will do that well this season, I would not be surprised to see one of them struggling towards the bottom end of the division.

How many teams have u supported over the years

York city who I still pop in to see when down in Yorkshire for 45 years and Motherwell, is that ok with you ?

3 wins in 2022 u think that gives him credit in the bank . It’s well seeing u don’t have any emotional ties wae the club can’t remember which club u supported last but it’s time to return there

To be honest I show more support to Motherwell than I’ve ever seen from you. The only time you are ever happy is when we lose. You actually want rid of me because I’m positive.

Let's see what happens after Thursday, if we are still in competition it buys him some time but he really needs to up his game in my opinion.  As for post match interviews I have been critical as they really are insulting the fans intelligence, fans that pay a lot of good money.  We had over 7,000 on Thursday witnessing that performance. To then have your manager say we created '20 chances 'is a joke.  Again these are just my views and I know there are fans that think Alexander is wonderful which is their right but personally I feel change is required. We have a good squad but they aren't being utilised properly.... COYW

I’ve asked this before but who thinks he’s wonderful ? I don’t know anyone that actually thinks that. People like myself look at his record and think fair enough he’s got credit in the bank but I’m certainly not a huge fan. He will move on at some point and I can’t say I would miss him that much, it will just be another man in the door that some will want out again 12 months later and so it will go on.

The age-old adage of using false equivalence to defend a manager's position is tiresome. He's arrogant, stubborn and stupid, making him an appalling football manager. His utter contempt for the fans is also embarrassing. If Sligo put us out, he's as good as finished.

He won’t be anywhere near finished. If we lose the first half dozen league games then that’s a different matter.

Is there any optimism that we will suddenly change tactics and become a free flowing pushing forward team to win this tie. I think not.  Usual crap , Keep it tight boys, don’t do anything I haven’t specifically told you to do ,nobody try to beat a man then go for goal , keep  passing it across or backwards. Oh and defenders don’t make any stupid mistakes.  Then if we are going out push forward to try and score in the last 10 minutes when it’s too late

I’m not optimistic at all. I think we may well go out next week and I’d be very surprised if we suddenly look like Brazil at their best, but then that applies to the vast majority of teams in this division, St Mirren have turned into a Motherwell reserves. I fully expect much of the above to happen but would not be surprised to see us finish next season in yet again a comfortable position. I’d like a level of entertainment but I’ve seen little of that in Scottish football in a while and I go to plenty of other games including a few in the championship which is even worse, step 6 down south is better quality. As before changing manager won’t bring better football, just more of the same level with better/worse results. Did the standard get better after each of the last 3 Motherwell managers ? not for me.

Let's be honest, with his physical attributes without the mistakes he makes on occasion he'd be nowhere near Motherwell. The guy is clearly a hell of an athlete, and is the physical prototype for a footballer at a much higher level than us.

It's those occasional lapses in focus that are the reason he's plying his trade with us and not down south at a decent level.

    Dunn  another example.
