  1. Be great to see us finish 4th. Most teams have poor patches and to be 5 games into one and still be 4th = happy days. Aberdeen, Utd, Hibs aren't proving to be any better than us. An exciting league tbh. top 2 fighting it out. 4-9 very few points splitting us all, Bottom 2 fighting it out.
  2. There's no question he's talented , equally no question he has issues. We've been wasteful with strikers and have too many forwards on the books - the difference here is Griffiths can score goals. Certainly worth a punt as we've been struggling for goals. I reckon if he phones GA and says I can play anywhere across the front 3 he'll be in with a chance
  3. For the love of god - give us a goal Motherwell
  4. As much as I appreciate GA has done well for the club , I do think he’d be a pain in the arse as a gaffer . our play mirrors him , very serious and lacks personality/flair . Not surprised that some of the senior pros got pissed off and moved on .
  5. In essence what you've outlined is we have challenges in all areas of the team, which is true but we're good enough to be top 6. Thankfully we play like a team rather than individuals. The difference in recent weeks is we've not taken our chances, pre xmas we bagged goals with limited chances, we were ruthless. Now we aren't. We're just going through a tough spot but we're not hugely different to when we were riding high.
  6. most likely option is a striker who's been out injured at a much higher level than the SPL and needs game time. This is in the very difficult bucket . Alternative is just move to a 4-5-1. KVV at the striker (or Shields when KVV is out) We have plenty of defenders and midfielders but a lack of quality in the front 3.
  7. frustratingly this is all too familiar. We have lots of hard working players that lack any real quality. They've got us to a great position in the league but rarely entertain
  8. Frustrating result. We have a squad of players who arguably are solid on their day but equally have big gaps in their game. couple of examples from last night Mugabi, does lots of good things in a game but should have stopped the cross coming in on first goal + the pen. McGinley - saved the team with great covering before their first goal only to cost us later in the game. overall we have pretty average players, some we can drop and change for a similar standard. GA has done well to have a well drilled team who work bloody hard. Longer term be ideal to reduce the squad size and inject 2-3 quality players but easier said than done.
  9. Could be Roberts offers more versatility . Front 3 we have can all rotate into centre and wider positions , more likely with KVV through the middle.
  10. He scored 30on 60 games for Utd - suspect they’ll want him back
  11. His stats are impressive - 80 goals in 160 games in last 2 seasons - that's far better than any other striker we've had at the club for some time. Not sure what's not to like about that. I'd be more surprised if we were able to get him - suspect many teams will pay a pretty penny for that type of goal return.
  12. I thought his loan expired at start of January . Ok squad player - we could do with a clear and obvious first team pick
  13. it's not aways terrible. Once upon a time we were desperate for Eddie May and offloaded Kirk and McGrillen. Can't say we won from that exchange.
  14. I've not been his biggest fan and still find him hard to listen to in his pre/post match videos but give him huge credit, he has reinstalled steel into our game and we know how to win. stats speak volumes.
  15. Well said. I agree it's a sore one, we've been great for him and vice versa. I genuinely thought he's resign for us unless life changing money came into the equation. Would have been much happier to see him go to D1 club. From a footballing perspective I think he's making a mistake given he's fitted in so well. Appreciate money talks but sticks in my throat that a club like Utd are a bigger club .
  16. tough call to bench Watt - he's been our best player for the last 18 months or so. Equally we need players who want to be here - well done GA.
  17. it's a rock and hard place. if we let him go now - We move on but if he moves to Utd now we improve their season whilst making our worse - even a fee £2-300k doesn't make it worth it keep him and he he could easily hold back, fall out the team etc. All in all this takes the jam out my donut, pre contracts should have some form of secrecy clause it's its poor for the player and existing club.
  18. brilliant - well done lads - great that mental health is no longer taboo for men to talk about
  19. Im not a fan of a pre-determined winter break. Weather could be terrible at any point from Nov - March. Pre covid it was a lottery - close in January when weather is ok and face a build up of postponement in feb/march. Now in a covid world even more uncertainty. If safe for players we should continue to play. I'd rather we keep the season going and roll with the punches, if weather or covid stops play so be it - re-arrange as/when we need to.
  20. loved to see how chuffed Dean was to score - that was enough to warrant voting for him.
  21. these games can be a bit of a banana skin - really impressed with our ability to win games and grind out results.
  22. Real possibility that we do sell him in January . GA is trying to build a team for the next few years. If we can get decent cash we may just let him leave .
  23. not for me. Did ok last season when we were desperate for something up front. Time to move on.
  24. We have been a great fit for Watt - he's also a great fit for us. Ideally he resigns and we continue to love what he brings. If he moves on suspect it will be a lower championship / D1/top4 Scotts Prem club and pay him higher salary. At the end of the day money talks - he won't go on to a much higher level but he could move on to a much higher salary .
