  1. He scored 30on 60 games for Utd - suspect they’ll want him back
  2. His stats are impressive - 80 goals in 160 games in last 2 seasons - that's far better than any other striker we've had at the club for some time. Not sure what's not to like about that. I'd be more surprised if we were able to get him - suspect many teams will pay a pretty penny for that type of goal return.
  3. I thought his loan expired at start of January . Ok squad player - we could do with a clear and obvious first team pick
  4. it's not aways terrible. Once upon a time we were desperate for Eddie May and offloaded Kirk and McGrillen. Can't say we won from that exchange.
  5. I've not been his biggest fan and still find him hard to listen to in his pre/post match videos but give him huge credit, he has reinstalled steel into our game and we know how to win. stats speak volumes.
  6. Well said. I agree it's a sore one, we've been great for him and vice versa. I genuinely thought he's resign for us unless life changing money came into the equation. Would have been much happier to see him go to D1 club. From a footballing perspective I think he's making a mistake given he's fitted in so well. Appreciate money talks but sticks in my throat that a club like Utd are a bigger club .
  7. tough call to bench Watt - he's been our best player for the last 18 months or so. Equally we need players who want to be here - well done GA.
  8. it's a rock and hard place. if we let him go now - We move on but if he moves to Utd now we improve their season whilst making our worse - even a fee £2-300k doesn't make it worth it keep him and he he could easily hold back, fall out the team etc. All in all this takes the jam out my donut, pre contracts should have some form of secrecy clause it's its poor for the player and existing club.
  9. brilliant - well done lads - great that mental health is no longer taboo for men to talk about
  10. Im not a fan of a pre-determined winter break. Weather could be terrible at any point from Nov - March. Pre covid it was a lottery - close in January when weather is ok and face a build up of postponement in feb/march. Now in a covid world even more uncertainty. If safe for players we should continue to play. I'd rather we keep the season going and roll with the punches, if weather or covid stops play so be it - re-arrange as/when we need to.
  11. loved to see how chuffed Dean was to score - that was enough to warrant voting for him.
  12. these games can be a bit of a banana skin - really impressed with our ability to win games and grind out results.
  13. Real possibility that we do sell him in January . GA is trying to build a team for the next few years. If we can get decent cash we may just let him leave .
  14. not for me. Did ok last season when we were desperate for something up front. Time to move on.
  15. We have been a great fit for Watt - he's also a great fit for us. Ideally he resigns and we continue to love what he brings. If he moves on suspect it will be a lower championship / D1/top4 Scotts Prem club and pay him higher salary. At the end of the day money talks - he won't go on to a much higher level but he could move on to a much higher salary .
  16. performance was important - didn't expect much - happy with the effort.
  17. a small run of poor games, a cup final and mid table with a game in hand - on the face of it very harsh. I've always thought he came across well and made very decent signings - like you say hope the get scudded.
  18. Coyne and Coyle were the strongest partnership I can remember in the last 40 years. Coyne was a class act . Well over 100 games and scored something like 1 in every 2 games. We were lucky to have someone of his calibre.
  19. play with the same energy as we did against Hearts, hope Celtic have an off day and who knows. odds are against us but it's a funny old game .
  20. Dougle wasn't the best striker but I loved his effort. He gave 100% ever game and knew how to ruffle up the feathers of the opposition I'm with FPExcile - Watt is someone who I warm to for his effort and how much he cares about the club. Falls into the same category as Kirk, Lasley, Hammell, Uncle Phil, Faddy, Craigan , Sieb etc for the type of player I warm to. Not many players get called by their first name - that speaks volumes for how we feel about him As for Tony Watt, we are good for Watt and Watt is good for us - really hope we give him a decent re-signing on fee and keep him at FP.
  21. Well done lads - got a great ability to grind out results
  22. This is spot on . Better players are more consistent . vs hearts many of our players played the best they can - this week many were below par. they’re not hungry enough , coupled with 5-6 of them wouldn’t be first choice picks if everyone was fit and at their best
  23. We have 2 key issues. 1) lack of consistency - which is true for many teams. When we play with urgency and the high press we're pretty damn good but unable to play with this intensity every week. 2) abolsute zero control of any game - someone made the point about Charlie Adam pulling the strings - as he did at FP. We don't have anyone pulling any strings . Our lack of being able to hold the ball, pass to one another is an issue - even when we play well. Not overly worried - it's going to be a season of highs and lows, but would we great to at least work on passing the ball
  24. I've been bemoaning the 4-3-3 but wow did I enjoy yesterday. The difference was hunger and the high press. Not dissimilar to the Hibs match. Playing the pressing game in the opponents half rather than defend our box bravely is night and day to watch. As fans I think we all like to see the high energy, 100% effort , push the other team hard. Appreciate it won't work every week but it was a joy and so damn good to beat Hearts. (a team I've despised for decades)
  25. must say didn't expect to win today - another valuable win and by the sounds of it a much better performance.
