  1. 100%. All 3 should have game time. Slattery proved to be an asset. Tierney has caused problems when he's come un. As for Shaw it's a complete waste to bring in a player, pay a wage if he's not going to get time. In reality I don't believe any of them will play.
  2. In theory Efford is the replacement - he can play anywhere in the front 3. Sadly he's rank rotten and offers very little. Not hugely different to some of the other piss poor signings. Even more frustrating is Watt seemed happy and settled back in Lanarkshire. He left around the same time GA signed an extension.
  3. Agree .At our best we press well but overall it’s dross. it’s as bad as it was under Robinson’s last 12 months . why we don’t play some of our better players befuddles me - have they all pissed GA off ?
  4. This for me is a big part of the issue. He's happy with the play, as long as we work hard and somehow magically score more goals he's happy. At least Robinson and others admitted when things were poor, albeit he ran out of ideas too.
  5. My thoughts are he's not the man for long term - there's a need to entertain and he's happy just to have people who work hard, huff and puff. We need hard workers but we also need some players who have skill /guile. Slattery, Goss. Shaw, Tierney all offer something more than we have but no where near starting. Watt seemed very happy at Well but can see the style of the manager not working for him. Slattery must have said/done something behind the scenes to be dropped like a stone. There's a fine line between arrogance and ignorance and for me GA falls on the wrong side. GA has been allowed to spend, we have a huge squad and must have a much bigger budget than previous mgrs. In short I've heard and seen enough to be happy to thank him for 1 1/2 years and let him move on to something new come the end of the season. I'd much prefer we bring in someone with a long term vision and plan who wants to give fans something to get excited about.
  6. Yorky - appreciate results were good but I've not enjoyed many games. Early pre season was worrying with lower league clubs showing us up. We someone managed to get points on the board , taking the little chance we made. -but at no time have we looked a good team. I don't believe it's all about Watt - albeit he was class and the fact he wanted to leave tells its own story about the current regime.
  7. We have players like Slattery, Goss, Shaw, Tierney - who can all play , pass and would get a game for most teams - but clearly not in the plans for an anti entertainment regime. Very similar to Mcghee. Gannon in terms of arrogance. When winning it was hard to accept - might as well wait til the end of season before making a decision. We don't need to be world beaters, just get the basics right please.
  8. I’m glad to see a central back three with carol and sod pushing forward . 3-4-3 could be decent . we’ve had little width and with a lack of any natural winger makes sense to push sod and Carrol up each flank .
  9. I’m grateful that we’re not in any relegation danger but don’t agree that this has to be at the expense of playing any brand of football. A team can be both hardworking , organised and still be good moving forward . Offensively we are brutal . We don’t control any game against any level of opposition . Our most talented player couldn’t even wait out the full season , that speaks to the direction of travel . Its ugly with no apology and although we’re in the results business there’s needs to be some entertainment . I’ve not heard anything from the mgr that suggests a brighter future . Irrespective of how the season ends I’d be happy to part company , thank GA for his excellent results and find a better brand of football .
  10. GA has a reputation of being overly single minded - a bit of a Jim Gannon about him. Can't help but suspect this is why Slattery/SOD got dropped and part of the reason Watt was so keen to leave. As for S'OD I like and rate him. He has his flaws as do all our team but can't ever recall a time so many of our fans were against a player with Scottish Caps. He quickly became a man many loved to critique and doubted would ever resign for us - we could do a lot worse than having Scottish intonational squad players.
  11. S'OD has been solid for Scotland. Very dependable. Often plays further up the park which suits his strengths. I can see why he's included.
  12. been a few comments re effort from KVV and Ojala. Neither look fit. Both look to be struggling with injury and carrying an injury. Oaja in particular has gone from being captain material to a liability .
  13. You are not alone in thinking this . mubabi is an ok centre half but will make mistakes . Should never be playing where he was today . team selection is bizarre . tactics bizarre .
  14. the boy went off injured - no doubt a stupid challenge. Personally feel a yellow would have been the right call , however Mugabi is clumbsy and leaves the ref decisions to make.
  15. Hibs were pish ? Kelly has several saves - how many did their keeper have to stop ? They were the better team by a distance in the first half and in the second managed the game and kept the ball - something we have zero ability to do. Feels like we're in freefall - other than working hard to stop the other team - I don't really see what we have to offer. Not all about the players either, I believe we could be a lot better with a different brand of footy.
  16. We offer zero as an attacking team. Had Mugabi stayed on I don't believe anything would have beeb different. Our style of play disgusts me, very hard to watch and other than having badly time challenges offered little in entertainment. We have some decent (fish) footballers who simply don't get a game. I've had more than enough of the GA regime.
  17. Frustrating game - we offered very little in attack . Why out better footballers don’t get a game is lost on me
  18. Get the subs on cup game. 15 mins left front 3 offering naff all change it
  19. Mugabi should never be playing right midfield - or his position , he’s a big strong centre half - can’t believe he should ever be in that postponing such a stupid , needless challenge . Gave the ref a decision to make .
  20. It’s luck that we’re only trailing by 1 . hibs the far better team . Too many late tackles and zero ability to hold the ball
  21. The style of play isn't all about the quality of players. Lower league team have out played us with basics.
  22. I’d like to see Kelly Mugabi. Sondra. Lamie S’OD. Slattery Ohara Goss Carrol KVV. Shields There could be a few variations of personnel but with a lack of natural winger I’d be pushing sod and carol up the flanks - they’re both decent in the final 1/3
  23. yip - it's disingenuous , "very exciting to see teams who will be 7-4th" and win sweet fanny adams, to quality for Europe and get dumped out before the next season starts. How dull our league truly is due to old firm and we're meant to be delighted to have them. Be better for all concerned for them both to join a different league and make things relatively interesting.
  24. I doubt our issue lies in formation - more tempo and lacking basic passing. FWIW Id use a 3-5-2 with both Carrol/SOD being part of the 5. Appreciate this would flip into 5-3-2 when under pressure but the issue for me goes well beyond formations.
  25. Not convinced Donnelly deserves negative attention any more than the next player. Kelly is the exception but everyone else has strengths and obvious weaknesses. The key is getting them to gel as a team. Donnelly is a decent holding midfield player who needs a more create midfield player to come short for easy passes. Bottom line is we've stopped playing as a team , lost confidence and lost our way. We need to be stronger than the sum of all parts, currently we are worse than a sum of all parts. Get back to basics. play simply, move forwards and backwards as a team and give us something to cheer.
