    Brown lived in Troon.

McGhee, McCall and Robinson all lived outside Scotland. Robinson eventually moved to Scotland for personal reasons. Not sure about Barraclough. Malpas commuted from Dundee.

    Thought McCall stayed in Strathaven

I know this is a fairly common view point, but why?

Developing players for Celtic gives me the dry boak at the best of times, nevermind when there is next to no financial reward.

He will be unavailable to play against said club.

I often doubt the commitment of players that play in the same league.

Will he stunt the development of Cornelius?

I dont think it's fair on the player himself...look at the treatment of Gilmour at Norwich, the fall guy of the fans

Agreed, any deal that involves getting a player off them shouldn't be up for discussion.the way the league is shaping up there a direct rival and there's no way we can give them our top scorer and get dross that can't get a game for them in return.i still think we will sign a striker no matter what happens with watt but I can see this rumbling on to the end of the month and him moving on then.

I'd rather the club looked at all options...there may be a player there that could do us a turn

I'm not quite sure why people seem to think Watt doesn't want to be here? He's looking like he'll sign a deal with United for next season, but that doesn't mean he suddenly can't be bothered and doesn't want to be here now?

I'm fairly certain that he's thoroughly enjoyed his time here, and if we could match what United offered I think he'd have happily stayed. But we couldn't or didn't choose to, so he's right to take the deal that works best for his family's future.

Until he leaves though, I'm sure we'll get 100% out of him. Be it end the of the season or next month with a transfer fee.

You seem an awfy trusting individual

  5. In these circumstances I'd have no hesitation in telling Tony Watt (and that comes from someone that's a big fan of his abilities) that he will never wear a claret and Amber strip again...we were told after the St Johnstone game that this was happening and something stinks about the whole thing...

Is this a preview to livi game or question time?   We all have our own political views which is everyone's right in a democracy.  But let's get back to fitba matters.....COYW

Unfortunately politics and fitba are intertwined more than ever right now

Burrows' supposed reason for wanting the games off was losing money on Boxing Day. Guess what we are losing it.

The reason we are losing it is because Celtic need to play at least 1 fixture to prevent a possible pile up for them. We have been shafted and instead of seeing this coming he was punting the Parkhead line on TV all day.

I like Burrows, but he does have a habit of this

Over reaction to a declining issue   what a feckin ridiculous statement to make about a virus that kills people and leaves others  still struggling health wise a year later, have a look at yourself FFS.

Public health and people's lives are more important than going to a football match, oh and the "wee crankie" patter is honking, get a grip.

Point scoring pish from the guy...those in government, both London and Edinburgh, have one helluva job working in circumstances that are new to everyone involved

Given that we had to stop the league two seasons ago we should be playing as many games as possible.

There is also the chance we delay the games, get a Covid outbreak and have to play a weakened team. We are flying just now and should be looking to rack up the wins while we are on form.

I agree with this, get the games played as we don't know how bad this is going to be

I’d like to think that we could at least offer him good enough contract to stop him moving to a team in Scotland. Don’t think we could match any offers from England. Just have to wait and see but can’t fault him if he moves for a good bit more money.

If Hearts, Hibs or Aberdeen want him, then they will blow us out of the water

Zero chance it's his last footballing job. The leagues are full of much worse ex-players and managers in various capacities. And he has 3 year's wages in the bank to tide him over while he looks.

It was more a general observation of yourself being unable to feel sorry for someone who has their contract paid up. There are guys out there who have been sacked and never seen the light of day again

I agree it was shortsighted move by Hibs, but I never feel too bad for anyone who is sacked with the remainder of their contract paid out in full.

It might be the last job the guy ever gets...looks like a ridiculous sacking on the face of it

Interesting that no one has mentioned our post war highest goal scorer John Sutton.

Not a great or exciting player, but he put in a shift and scored a load of goals for us.

He wouldn't be in my top 5 but thought someone would mention him.

While he clearly had a great scoring record, watching him made my eyes bleed
