  1. We will rightly lose patience because good performances don't win football matches. We need goals.
  2. Suggesting we have no better players available than Bair is madness. Mugabi would probably be a better option as striker.
  3. That's Kettlewell’s mess to figure out. Even if we didn't have a long injury list, we’d still be relying on known duds and crocks and pinning our hopes on a young loanee. My point is that this isn't a short-term problem to be solved, as we’re visibly hopeless in the striker department until we can do more business in the next window(s).
  4. Continuing to play a solo dud striker will prolong this spell of good performances.
  5. We've lost three league games on the bounce. Which part of that was good?
  6. The supposed good performances seem to have blinkered the masses. Performances don't win games; goals do.
  7. Pinning our hopes on a loanee striker is and always will be ridiculous. As is signing known crocks and duds.
  8. Three gallant defeats in a row seems to be pleasing the happy clappers on this forum.
  9. If only we had signed an actual fucking striker. Fuck sake. FUCK.
  10. We're playing against 12 men again today.
  11. I've previously held my hands up about Paton being a ‘lazy’ signing. He's been very effective since coming into the team.
  12. Yep, we just need to run at/through those defenders and pepper the keeper with shots from everywhere.
  13. Good move. I hope he gets the game time he needs.
  14. I don't think Bair is an 'out and out striker' as you say. He can't be when he doesn't score. I do agree that he is a target man who brings others into play, so fair play to him on that front. Edit: It he scores today, I’ll concede that he’s the greatest striker since KVV.
  15. My point was in reference to the implication that Bair is an ‘out and out striker‘, which he’s clearly not. I don't disagree with the other points.
  16. Then why is Bair continually getting a start?!
  17. It's hard not to predict another glorious/goalless defeat for us.
  18. We played really well, but are utterly toothless up front in terms of strikers, final ball, and set pieces, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Unfortunately, the evidence is there to convince me we’ll likely see this type of performance and result play out several times this season. For me, it boils down to this - SK can't legislate for what happened to Biereth, but replacing KVV with the likes of Obika, Wilkinson, Bair, and Shaw is clearly a mistake.
  19. Admirable optimism, but I think we’ll get pumped.
  20. Three years in the Greek Super League or warming the bench in ML1… Good luck to him.
  21. TEAM NEWS Calum Butcher remains missing for this match. Mika Biereth, Pape Souare, Conor Wilkinson and Jon Obika are also all unavailable for Saturday. Liam Kelly is a doubt after he pulled out of the Scotland squad with a back injury last week. Blair Spittal and Shane Blaney are also struggling with knocks and will be assessed this week. https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2023/09/12/were-back/
  22. Spittal may be out for this game, which would be a big loss.
