  1. It was. He opted for the other Irish trio of Danny Murphy, Trevor Molloy and Paul Keegan though. Classic Malpas.
  2. An absolutely fantastic achievement. Well done Motherwell

    New Away Kit

It's a poor effort, almost as bad as this 1999/2000 'Xara' effort.
  4. Fair point, but arguably the same could have been said of Gordon Marshall when he signed for us and he was an excellent goalkeeper during his time at Fir Park.
  5. What about Rab Douglas? He's being freed by Dundee and despite his age is still a decent stopper for the SPL. He's a 'Well fan aswell into the bargain so he might well be keen. We could do alot worse IMHO.
  6. Looked like a cracking away day atmosphere wise.
  7. Got a bad feeling about this one, I reckon the race for 2nd will go down to the last day. 2-1 Ross County after Inverness comfortably beat Dundee Utd.
  8. Well that's your opinion but I disagree. It's the business end of the season and we need a point to secure second, therefore I couldn't care less if we played like Brazil and it was the most entertaining game ever, it's points that counts and we got none. Hopefully we'll clinch 2nd against Ross County next week in front of the home fans.
  9. A defeat is a defeat and there is nothing to take from it. It doesn't matter a jot who scores for you if you end up losing.
  10. Surely we're due another all white away kit seeing as we've not had one for at least two years now? Personally I'd love a mainly claret away like the 1994/95 one that we wore against Dortmund.
  11. Can't see another comfortable win but I can't see us losing either. 2nd is in the bag, last week all but confirmed it and we'll rubber stamp it tomorrow.
  12. Exactly, we get this every single summer from the club, nothing but doom and gloom. Even last year when we were playing our first Champions League tie in our history there was not one bit of positive PR coming out of the club. And folk wonder why some fans are negative, miserable gits.
  13. We need a point to 'officially' clinch 2nd place and I reckon that's what we'll get. 1-1 with Higdon on the scoresheet again.
  14. That's a shame, I think the blue kit is cracking and we always seem to do well when wearing it too. As for the new kit, I was impressed when it first became public and I now can't wait to purchase it. I'd get 'MJC 91' on the back of it if I was brave enough...
  15. Are we not keeping the blue kit as a 'third kit'?
  16. Jim Hamilton and Neil McCann aswell, you dreaded seeing them on the Hearts team sheet against us back then. I think we had a period of four years in the 90s where we never managed to beat Hearts atall.
  17. Even in the mid-late 90s under McLeish & Kampman we had some awful sides and results. Back then I used to consider a point against Hearts or Aberdeen as bit of an achievement, nowadays we regularly beat them and outperform them in the league. It's been incredible to see us better the city clubs over the past few years and hopefully we'll keep on defying the odds.
  18. It's a difficult question as I think any one of those players going would be a big loss for us but I went for Higdon who just edged it over Faddy for me. I love the big guy, he's the spearhead of our front line and is a proven goal machine. Give him the service and he'll get the goals and that's crucial to us. Different type of player altogether, but he's our best striker since Tommy Coyne.
  19. We only lost once against them that season I'm sure, beat them 1-0, 3-2 and drew 1-1 with them. Considering the money we were spending back then compared to now, we've done extremely well to get the results against them this season that we've got.
  20. I regret starting a thread about McCall's time being up in December after we lost in the Cup to Aberdeen. It was knee jerk, and fickle. But football fans can be very fickle at times. I for one certainly can be.
  21. Results and performances like that from us prove why Lennon and Celtic don't deserve to pick up awards this season. They have five times the resources we do but we outplayed them today and beat them for the 2nd time in two months and have outperformed all the so called bigger city clubs this season by a country mile. They on the other hand have hobbled over the line in a one horse race and that is why our players and management team deserve more plaudits than they do this season. Lennon needs to learn to keep his dummy in his mouth.
  22. I'm a fud. Fan-fucking-tastic result and what a season. What a fucking season.
