  1. Wholeheartedly agree on all the points - good post, though what was the phrase Fatcalf used - "The more things change, the more they stay the same". As for Aberdeen and their ideas above their station attitude, the least said the better. There was an opportunity for fundamental change which has sadly been missed.
  2. Gazzy - they are letters purporting to be from HMRC indicating the payment of EBT's to Tore Andre Flo, Ronald De-Boer and Craig Moore (If they actually paid him an EBT they deserve everything they get) and the deliberate withholding of such information. Having spent 30+ years in various Government Departments, the language, tone and construction of such a highly sensitive (and unsigned) letter makes it dubious at best. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I think there's a bit of 'skullduggery' at play.
  3. Ian - So who made these 'docs' available - I smell shite.
  4. I think it might have been around 1975 'ish, just in time for the advent of the Top 10.
  5. Naw - the squeaky voice was Graeme Smith lol.
  6. Taken from BBC website - not always accurate I know GOAL - St Johnstone 1-0 Motherwell (MacLean)Steven MacLean nets on his comeback for St Johnstone, tapping home after Gunnar Nielsen spills the ball.
  7. Second link in first post - looks like a 3G and grass pitches.
  8. HA! HA! - reckon that was me - sounded reasonable in the heat of the moment - of course being the pedant you knew exactly what was meant - use both and CATCH THE F.....G thing. Ha Ha. He wasn't even under any pressure. God don't tell me I shouted it wrongly as well - oh no that's just your bad spelling.
  9. Sad news. One of my Dad's favourites - RIP Andy.
  10. And you heard all that from the home end - you got Superman hearing
  11. Believe it or not - any trip to Aberdeen circa late 70's, early 80's (despite the numerous thumpings - on the park). Bus left at 7.00 am, stop of Perth, onto Aberdeen, then leave Aberdeen at Midnight for the trip home. Even had to get a relief driver on one of the trips, came back from the game - to the Welly Boot at the Harbour, to find the driver steaming .
  12. Neither did big Kirky in 1991 at Pittodrie in the Cup, but he got booked. He only ran behind the goals. Clearly a stupid rule.
  13. No need - underboyleheating got it right - nothing any of the present day incompetents can do will ever match that particular f..kwit. Close the thread NOW!!!
  14. Derek 'Ruby' Murray and Jamie Doyle were both identified - think you should check for doublers, never heard of Angeand?
  15. Yeah that was the one. I was mixing them up - its old age.
  16. Definitely - but whether he played there or not is debatable
  17. Having seen most of these players it was really difficult to class some of them under any of the categories
  18. Fair assessment Grew, but in these terms all are a long way down the pecking order for inclusion in a Motherwell 'Greatest' XI.
  19. Absolutely true. Went for a pint with him (in Behind the Wall) after a midweek Falkirk and he told that story. As a big Celtic fan, he took great delight in ripping the pish out Hateley.
  20. Clearly its easier to pick a crap XI, than the best - that thread now stretches to 4 pages lol. Randolph Nijholt Krivokapic Martin Wark Lambert O'Donnell Cooper Faddy Pettigrew Graham Subs Ruddy, Willie Watson, Coyne, Arnott Vic Davidson, Boyd
  21. One for the older posters John Fallon Chic McClelland Alan Mackin John Muir Derek 'Ruby' Murray Alex Spark Davie Shanks Pat Gardner Sam Goodwin Jim Gillespie Mike Larnach That team couldn't have beaten 'Casey's Drum'
