  1. Glad to see big John back. Big handsome bastard.

    Great news about Neilsen.

There definitely seems to be a strict signing policy in place... we're bound to be the best-looking team in the league now... Lawson, Vigurs, Sutton, Neilsen... not to mention the housewives' favourite. Marketing opportunity?

  2. It was Law's decision to make and he chose Rangers. End of. I say good luck to him and thanks for taking a gamble and joining Motherwell two years ago. It's been fun having you on board. Cannot understand all the aggro now being shown towards him. Unlike some, he made his intention to move on perfectly clear and at no time has he tried to pull the wool over our eyes. Hateley and Humphrey for example have done absolutely nothing to clarify their situation.

I too would have preferred Law to have gone elsewhere but it's what he wants that counts. As for lack of ambition, the same could have been said when he opted to move to Motherwell rather than one of the Championship and First Division sides that were reputedly keen to sign him. I'm certain there would have been people in England amazed at his decision then.

Like any player who plays fair by us and then moves on I hope he goes from strength to strength and has a great career.

Fair enough, I admire your comments... but still, I'd have found it a whole lot easier to be magnanimous if he hadn't gone there.

  3. Most likely internet stream. Not even sure you can get Alba outside of Scotland.

Yeah, the problem is that the official live stream is restricted to UK-based people. There are ways round it, but any time I've tried it, it's via dodgy-looking websites, and / or the quality is poor.

At first glance it seemed as if the flick for his second goal was meant for Humf but it fell short so he lashed it in himself, not sure but sharp thinking anyway. Either way, great technique from the big man for both goals.

I agree, poor first touch set up his second goal, and got a bobble for the first which made him hit it higher / with more loft than if the ball was on the ground.

  5. I doubt that they'd pay enough attention to even be bothered running the story.

Edit: It might even do more bad than good. The last time it made the press, United came out with a statement to the press which at the absolute best was a very careful construction of the truth. Actually it was complete lies.

Fair enough... bollocks to them then

  6. What makes it even worse is that they dont even seem arsed. We've contacted them on numerous occasions via telephone call, letters and emails and they dont even bother to respond.

Not that it would probably make any difference, but would it make you feel any better to go to the press and draw attention to their attitude, particularly in the current environment?

  7. Very good news.

Surely a stick-on for manager of the month for March (best record for the month), with Michael Higdon for player of the month (4 goals in last 5 games, and top of the league's scoring chart).

Doesn't mean much, but keeps the general air of happiness around the place.

  8. Clear second in the table going in to March. Just beaten Celtic and Hearts back to back. A player at the top of the league's scoring chart. James McFadden back in claret and amber. Would we have taken that at the start of the season?!

  9. since all the ever talk about is how scottish football only want rangers so that we can make money out of them' date=' how about

Here for your money, we're only here for your money, here for your money, we're only here for your money.

    [/quote']

Variation on a theme:Green, Whyte and Murray, they're only here for your money

Your know when you start thinking about these things, you just can't stop...

Naismith walked away, walked away from Rangers...Whitaker, McGregor, Davis, Edu, Lafferty, Jelavic, Bocanegra... Walked away from Rangers

If you are the f***in Rangers clap your hands .... (silence all round)

We love you Craig Whyte, we do...

  10. Some chants for castle greyskull:

    - stand up if you voted no

    - instead of "here we go", "we said no"

    - you canny spell EBT, spell EBT, you canny spell EBT

    - As you've got, no history, It's enough to make you walk away-ay-ay-ay, You don't care what the creditors say, What the hell do you care, Cos you always know that you can f***in go, And the liquidator will be there

    Possible banners:

    Same shit, different name

    Cash converters v tax diverters

  11. The away tickets have no date or kick off time on them, surely thats a first.

Ticket office did confirm it's a 2045 ko next Thurs, need to check if that's uk watch or Spanish watch time.

Also was told all the tickets were even numbered seats, as got given two 'together' and when I asked about the seat numbers (asiento) not being two consecutive numbers that was the explanation given. Anyone else notice this?

I used to go to quite a few Spanish games - don't worry about this, for some reason rows are numbered odd or even, so it always appears that two seats together are not really.

  12. I'm trying hard to keep up with the debate, pros / cons etc, as well as trying to focus on the facts rather than just go with my gut feel, which is to punt them.

The conclusions I reach at the moment are basically:

    1. Rangers need a severe punishment

    2. However, MFC (and other clubs for that matter) can't win... whatever they do on the vote will be wrong in some people's eyes, and the implications could be far reaching and long lasting, one way or another

    3. It's in no-one's interests that clubs' fans end up taking action against the interests of their own clubs, when those clubs have not had any part in creating the root cause

So some kind of solution (i.e. punishment) has to be found without the need for a polarising vote, but that both sides in the argument can live with (i.e. severe enough that it hurts, but not severe enough that the finances of our game are damaged in such a way that recovery will be hard to imagine in the short to medium term).

Easier said than done, but the best I can come up with is that the SPL / SFL / SFA / whoever (acting indirectly on behalf of all clubs) agree to relegate Rangers to the First (not Third) Division, as well as to apply the transfer embargo and the three year European ban. This will be in addition to a change in the voting structure and distribution of TV money, to make it more equitable long term. For it to work, Rangers will have to 'go quietly' and accept it, as well as demonstrate some kind of contrition / apology, which so far seems to be sadly lacking.

I personally could live with that, as it would just about satisfy my gut feel to punt them, without necessarily having difficult to predict and possibly damaging long term implications.

  13. Big one on Saturday again coming thick and fast.

Finishing touches being put into one of the biggest an best displays we've tried outwith the cup final.

    And another song;

To the tune of stone roses made of stone,

    Sometimes iiiiii

    Fantasiiiiiise

    When the well play Barcelona

Or we end up getting Roma

    Don't these tiiiiiimes

    Fill your eeeeeyes

If the well play man utd

The whole town will be excited

    Oh oh ohhh

    Oh oh ohhh

I know the whole European destination is all up in the air (so to speak) but, second verse?

    Where the fuuuuuck

    Is Kazakhstaaaan?

Oh we thought we were going for glory

But instead we're off to Almaty

    Don't these tiiiimes

    Fill your eyeeees

… just the flight is really pricey

And the place I think is dicey…

  14. So Well Society membership will commence after the 31st march.

Why would you get free acces to a pay tv site unless it was assured that the mechanism thet got you it was up and running

    Chill out

All the advertising materials said that membership benefits would commence straight away. I therefore didn't sign up for MFC TV, expecting that I'd get my login details a few days or so after signing up for the Well Society (in mid January). Like a few others who have posted, I have also being going a bit nuts with e-mails back and forward, but thankfully today I have been able to sign in.
