So similar to our last league cup tie. Again away to a potential banana skin and then a home time against a fellow struggler. A similar outcome would be pleasing but again would that just be re-papering over those same cracks which keep appearing. I'll always back whoever is in charge but it is becoming increasingly difficult, in fact sometimes I feel like a lunatic constantly telling myself it'll come good eventually.

Did les hutchison not come out recently and say that none of the youngsters in the u20's were up to much? If this was the case then I'm guessing that this is the view of the coaching team too. Maybe I'm putting 2 and 2 together here but I doubt he's been to any of their games or sits on YouTube watching the highlights that the club puts up so it would suggest to me that in a meeting with the management team he's been told that there isn't anybody who is going to make a massive impact. Could this be why we are seeing guys being brought in seemingly just to sit on the bench? I'm not saying this is right as it does seem a bit pointless bringing in Samson, Clarkson, Robinson and Taylor just as back up but maybe the coaching staff have decided the boys in the u20's aren't even ready as back up for the 1st team. Not sure how much influence crags would have but certainly apart from Clarkson these guys have all come in after the appointment of craigan, which could suggest crags has come in and said the guys ready to step up from the u20's are nowhere near good enough for the first team.

Hopefully we have shades of Neil lennon at killie all those years back. Allegedly he was getting sacked and then the team reacted in the 2nd half and they went on a daft run. Hopefully that disallowed goal is the turning point for the season as I genuinely believe he would be gone already and we would be out another cup in our first round had that stood. In the end probably a fair result but aberdeen certainly couldn't have complained if we had nicked a draw. Disagree with steelboy regarding moult,thought he was our best attacker by a mile. Mcdonald should be given a half in the u20's to increase his sharpness. It was like watching dirk lehmann again where every 2nd touch was a tackle. Johnson apart from his goal offered very little and ainsworth came into the game a bit in the 2nd half but only after aberdeen dropped off knowing that he couldn't hurt them by getting in behind. Thomas did well when he came on and what is really frustrating me is that the defence actually look a lot more organised than last season but still manage to throw in a comedy goal every game. Still positive at the moment as without playing celtic it has without a doubt been the hardest start we could have got, but we need to start putting some points on the board or else last season may not have been a one off blip that we all hoped.

Watt has probably dropped off the bench due to Kennedy being available and able to deputise at right back too. With chalmers being on the pitch,we have cover at left back if anything happens to hammell which let's us pick a more attacking bench. Although there's every possibility watt is injured and all this is complete baws! Just realised ferguson is on the bench so yes this is complete baws and Watt probably is injured

Paul lawson looks set to sign for formartine utd in the Highland league according to the evening express. He has turned down several spfl clubs apparently. Would have thought he would have been a good signing for a championship club IF they could have kept him fit

Could it be peter hartley, the Plymouth argyle centre half we were heavily linked with in january. Only reason I'm guessing this is he has a beard, so putting 2 and 2 together and getting 25 probably. Also given that every bugger in the world has a beard nowadays I'm probably miles out.

Woods came from Preston I'm sure for about 50k although I'm sure he played with a Scottish team before them. I'll say clydebank but that might be in my head because of his impressive showing on the wing against them in the league cup!
