  1. Staggering..... was about to say the media coverage has improved a tremendous amount in the last decade or so , yes there are areas that are still frustrating, but it has certainly improved. big buff mentioned the amount of 'Well fans in the press and media and the split also seems to be improving (also handy for rolling about Russian streets with ) guys from outwith the traditional catchment for this area also give positive coverage to our club, probably a direct spin off from the media teams good work. Sadly as many as there are, not enough editors are publishing , more a sign of the state of paper media than anything else. cannot believe Richard Gordon got credit for mentioning Motherwell on sportssound, go see the lengths individual well fans are going to, to highlight the shockingly poor coverage to him and his editor on social media for lack of 'Well coverage after matches, its the one area that truly shocking. A token mention one week, doesn't balance that out, sadly the week Chick Young covered our game he actually gave rave reviews, only to forget about his match functions , when a weegie subject came up, BBC used to be the relatively balanced source, but that radio show, will easily split its last hour, into 30 minutes Celtic, 15 minutes new firm, ten minutes the other big city clubs then a token gesture mentioning the provincial clubs. Hell after Aberdeen, we literally got mentioned as they were going into the wrap at the end of the show. But thinking we have our ownership sorted and are sustainable at present, means clearly, far too pleasant a picture has been painted
  2. you're correct weeyin, and its clear that's why the prices remain at such a high rate, Jackson is probably well aware he's also got to set them up going forward with much lower income, harsh to say it, but he is effectively wringing the last premiership pennies from anyone willing, mainly their core support , but us as well. Not the first time he's had to do it, city punters always been willing to pay more than our core for whatever reason that is? Historical occasion as it could turn out to be, I'd still dig him for it being too much, But I'd accept any response...once...
  3. at those prices it's difficult choice for most everyone who goes along normally, or those that it happens to suit this weekend. Its too much for any domestic game, £20 is too much, but even our own club robs fans for more The reason I'll pay it this weekend , is simple, when we were listening for the death knell, we needed every penny for survival, not all, but a good amount of visiting fans continued to show up and pay money towards that survival whilst seeing their team, Hearts supported in decent numbers , and a few workmates came through from Livvy to see them after some persuasion. its a token gesture on my part, but I've been able to put some gate money into all the clubs in administration, whose own fans put money through Fir Parks gates. At least Hearts are trying to recover in a fairly legitimate manner, steered by a man we all owe a certain amount of gratitude to. If I see him , I'll be telling him he's scaring away visiting fans.
  4. Rather tragic thread, its clear the o.p, always had a problem with Hateley, pretty sad that a player who started as many games through a really entertaining period evokes those sort of feelings and sad that Frazzle has to bring it up after many months, stating that Hateleys missus talks a load of shite when it suits, and then making out that what she says is justification for his digs on whether Hateley is fit or not many players over the years who have robbed wages out of MFC, or disgraced themselves, or quite simply not been very good, but Frazzle and a few others worry about one that despite his frustrations served pretty well, and never bad mouthed the club. as for him never beating you at football? , he clearly has...many times over the Sherriff certainly found him guilty, don't know if he appealed
  5. Because it is, stop filtering out the actual facts and get over it. consistent rain, saturates and raises level of groundwater, only needs four or five hours clear to allow enough capacity to host a game, like the other day, that couldn't be guaranteed today after, forecast clear spell didn't happen. scheduled for TV and long distance for travelling fans, would nudge towards early decision Club will be the most upset, they are the business that losing money forecast unlikely to clear up = gamble that even more money would be lost PS other games in area also being called off, must be you wringing your knickers out. Proposal move Fir Park to Dumbarton rock or Inverness, so water can drain straight to coast, no wait that could backfire as it does there as
  6. Ainsworth signed on until the end os the season in an extended loan deal http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2014/01/03/ainsworth-extends-well-loan/
  7. aye they probably would, Dan Looked and acted like he enjoyed being with Motherwell FC, and for that I hope we see him in blue again, but if he isn't available in this window, its now time to move on and get behind any of our registered keepers that do play and stop harping on about the old days
  8. only 3 out of 7 of our season tickets were used for that very reason only the club know if the crowd was 'bad' if it was mainly season ticket holders that were missing it could have actually meant more cash than a normal game v ST Johnstone
  9. PS limited highlights, shows that Saints were in it to a point, but gutted they didn't show Faddys reverse turn flick stepover thingy in front of the East
  10. Should have been 3 or 4 clear in the first 30minutes, st Johnstone came back into it with a fair bit of decent play Would be nice to put it to bed early, weather is howling
  11. I prefer the East as well, but have had the kids in tow for 5 years now and its more comfortable in the Cooper, with them. youngest just hitting ten so was looking at options then a three year old joined us, he still gets a bit jumpy when we score but telling him who the good guys and bad guys are keeps him occupied not sure what stage your boy is at, but found it easier to talk them through the game and even distract them when need be, when in the Cooper, plenty of empty pockets of seats where you can get a few seats together to allow some movement if he gets edgy Remember to get a family ticket if you have no ST, which covers One adult one Child oh and free face paint for the kids ,usually in the East corner of the cooper as you come inside the turnstiles, if that's your thing PATG prices for Fir Park: POD or Cooper: Adult - £22 Juvenile - £12 Family - £28 East Stand: Adult - £18 Juvenile - £9 Family - £24
  12. whats notable is that when we did play them, we were in administration, so although it reads bad that its been some time since we had a victory at Firhill, it's not so surprising when you look at the limited amount of fixtures and what each team had going for them. as for the game, I'm surprised there is so much confidence going around having watched Thistle, someone else mentioned it, they are not as bad as the league table indicates. if they have a decent left side and we line up as we did in Aberdeen, they'll probably get something from that area, we rode our luck and its unlikely to get through two games with luck Id rather have Ramsden out there covering but McCall seems to prefer using him in the middle over Kerr, and with Hutch being suspended, so either way we'll have a makeshift (tho' decent) defence someone else suggested dropping Lawson, no way, I'd have him sitting right in front middle of the defence, as he did yesterday, Thistle try and shoot from distance and break through the middle, he seems suited to that role, and getting a decent shot or two off himself. Leaves Lasley Carswell and Ainsworth further forward, Lasley and Carswell had tremendous games yesterday, Ainsworth very quiet goal apart, but reckon more to do with how much work we were doing defensively up front? Anier is on form just now and working hard since Henrik motivated him again, Sutton I'm not sure if I'd prefer the movement of Moore? do we need the added defensive capability of Sutton? McCall can throw the dice on that one. Vigurs can save his lazy arse on the bench, and come on and set up and score goals from around the hour mark, something needs to rattle his cage to put the effort in for his full stint on the pitch
  13. no, they closed the ticket purchase prior to the scheduled draw I've asked the club twitter account for the result earlier in the week, no response its like they want us to contribute but don't feel its worthy to let us know the draw was completed, not ideal the office being closed will not help matters, I hope the winner has at least been notified

    Aberdeen

be a few in with a shout this week, the battling fighting attitude was back, each player looking out for each other shame Dan will not be around longer this spell, to see what he could do in a longer run, for a wee guy he sure covers a lot of the goal Hutch and Ramsden put in quite a shift, With Lawson working hard in front of them as did Hammell and Lasley but Stuart Carswell was immense today. gets my vote for MOTM, was great to watch I didn't like how we setup , but against one of the best sides in the league suppose McCall had to change it around, and all the players selected delivered for him
  15. I'm so glad he did deliver something, getting very frustrated at his lazy approach to almost every movement he makes. very frustrating if you get the chance to watch him closely, very capable footballer, but so lackadaisical more often than not, often loses possession or puts others in trouble, barely puts the effort in to chase or block, even when Ainsworth went off, he had to be pushed into going over to take the corner. maybe hes run down or something, but jeez once it was pointed out to me its hugely frustrating to watch, especially when we know he can deliver
  16. Dare say it was for his buddy Ojamma in the main stand
  17. not sure if its one of those co-incidences but this Saturday will be 8 months and 15 days since Faddy saved us from defeat after going 1-2 down from Higdons opener. I'm hopeful that we can repeat the goal scoring with Sutton and maybe Vigurs opening his account, lets hope St Mirren don't find any form against top six, they have been on a tremendous recovery run after looking like whipping dogs, but mainly picking up points against lower half of the league. I'll go 2-1 to the good guys if its not a co-incidence, good news,Hav a beer, baby will still be a week or so away
  18. For anybody looking in on the mobile version of the site, that dosnt show the sub-title detail the calendar signing is from 6pm in the Centenary suite, Tuesday 17th December 2013
  19. Too right Melvin, most would've taken anything prior to ko I'd still take a point but , Motherwell 5-2 will pay for next seasons ticket might've slipped up taking Anier for two or more tho'
  20. That is what is propoased by the society, as that is the feedback they have from fans who would like to join but have not got a lump sum or the intent to pay over the currently advertised 4 payments and likewise from those that want to step up a membership level. no up front cost other than maybe, the first months payment. longer term contributions then at some point, where an agreed amount has been reached you become a full member at whatever level. I should point out that if someone wants to join, but its purely down to a lower monthly payment required, the Society have for some time been encouraging people to contact them or Alison Wallace and terms may be able to be agreed to suit both parties
  21. Just for Clarity David, the change to Direct debit is for all payments, but those payments quoted are purely for ongoing contributions after becoming a full member at any level. to join as a steel member you would still have to contribute £300, just that it would now be spread over a longer term monthly contributions, I suspect, that would be £25 pm over 12 months, perhaps the society would embrace even longer terms? likewise a Claret membership would still be £1000, Amber £5000 etc with opportunity to pay over longer terms, then the payments would drop to those figures you quoted which are a divison of the annual paymetns currently in place. Goggles and Flippers, I cant respond to all the points just now, I wasn't meaning to be condescending , although I do believe if the club board increase out support by 1200 paying punters that contribute significantly, they will have worked some magic. your other points are all worth discussing with the Society, email addresses are on their site under members section. drop them a mail, I think , but, I do not know for sure a lot of the ground work has been done with only approx 60 members a year still joining. there will be plenty views on this, my only real wish on any change is that additional money I put into the society, contributes towards me moving up the membership levels. on my choice not to pay annual subs, the club get quite a bit of my income, like they do from many others, I dont believe paying them society funds to host bebenfits that I will ever claim on is sensible. Id much rather it goes into the society goal of increased ownership share and providing security fo the club. a choice that every member has EDIT: I see you've clicked that it was different when I was composing post, it is a lot, and thats the crux of the matter , money that needs put into the society the only real return is membership of that society and contributing towards the goal of fan ownership and some security funds for the club.
  22. Is all changed with one of the co-opted society board memebrs having done a lot of work looking into Finanacial services regulations they are now wanting to make payments by monthly ongoing direct debits. I'll leave it to the society to tell members and offer new recruits the details , once its agreed with current members Steelboy, the figure might not be your valuation of the club, but even before a value was placed its the same amount that was talked about to have in reserve for difficult trading periods. the ammount that the society aimed for would be the same either way. as I've said lots of small flaws to iron out, but not many choices for those that want an endless options list.
  23. felxible payments is the most valid point Frazzle, and its exactly what they were talking about, it might need clairified in the detail I think you and I are effectively thinking along the same lines that you pay what you can afford and when you reach a total you gain that membership, be it 6 months or longer like 18-24months or beyond effectivly savings for membership with funds into the society right away. Steelboy, thats the initial impact of changing payment structure in year one, estimates show that cuts it from 2040 to around 2024, the new payments structure would hopefully many more to continue to join over the years 10 years was my number, on one years improvements, with no continued membership growth, the goal of course is to continue growing membership and importantly ongoing contributions continue to grow the societies capital achieving fan ownership is a primary goal, but getting the funds to do it comes first, at times you dont seem to approve of anything Motherwell related. your choice, start another thread with your blueprint for survival and success
