  1. get back to the wage of a pittance and big win bonus
  2. it gets said more or less every season, move on players, and bring in replacements. If only life was that easy. Hows about letting the younger players develop and if that means losing a few games along the way so be it. Some sections of our support are starting to sound like old firm, i.e. high expectations, lack of patience, and over reactions to defeat. Result like saturday have happened to Motherwell since 1886. Only Hearts have shown any consistancy, but they have a big squad. We have a squad of boys with a few more experienced players, who are carrying injuries and probably in nead of a rest. McCall like every other manager will get decisions right and wrong, just like every other manager in the world of football. Very few get it consistantly right from the word go, and if they do they've probably had a wad of money to buy players. When you look at the likes of Lambert, McLeish, Davies and even butcher very few supporters rated them but given time theyve shown they can with experience, mature into respectable and solid managers. We've no money, so we have to show patience and understanding of the problems associated with Scottish Football. McCall out posts from the same posters (we get the message, why repeat it constantly?) are not helpful and silly for a guy thats been in the job for only just over two months. Sure criticise him when he make mistakes, praise him when he gets it right, but lets be sensible about it. He aint going anywhere, and any manager with any sense would stay well clear of Scottish football, as it going down the pan. As for motivation which is the flavour of the month, surely the players owe it to themselves to prepare for a match professionally? Physically and Mentally.
  3. Inverness are as good a side as us,. Thats the bottom line. Outwith the old firm any team bar Hamilton can beat anyone on their day. It only takes one or two of our key players not to perform and we struggle. Their is no magic wand to make players consistantly good. If they were consistant they would not be at our club. They scored an early peach of a goal, we chased game, got caught again and again. The only thing consistant, was that todays result is just typical Motherwell, and has been for as long as i remember. Up and Down. Does not take away the frustrations or disappointment, but things could be worse, we could be in Accies position. Hopefully, the players have been saving themselves for the cup game. see hibs got an equaliser, why helps a little.
  4. aye like we have a team of world beaters. We've been up and down for over a year now. Perhaps that players just aint good enough. Something that cant change over night.
  5. the key to this game was scoring first. They scored, and then resorted to their usual everyone behind ball, and counter attack. As we chase the game we are more than likely to lose one or two more. Was always going to be a hard game irrespective of Inverness' recent form. Looking at results this is a bad day at office again. No doubt the doom and gloom posters will be along shortly.......... Just need to get into the top six the hard way.

    The Referee

dont know how you can say that given he did give the penalty. Many a referee would have ignored their assistant! Given our record when he referee's our games, i dont care about his performance, as long as we keep winning.
  7. as i said in the St mirren thread, "would it not be typical if Motherwell beat Celtic". Us oldies know the score, lows followed by highs, thats the Motherwell way. McCall and the player deserve credit for todays result. They've proved to themselves that they can compete, and hopefully this gives them confidence going into the next few games. The question now is, does he change the defence for the next game?
  8. would it not just be typical now if we fluked a win against Celtic

    Groundstaff

Why should the groundstaff be excluded from criticism? Mistakes are continually being made.
  10. is that Hamilton relegated now? It would appear St Mirren were allowed, not for the first time, to boot us all over the park without any fear of a booking. Combined with the pitch, it was never going to be a pretty or an easy game.

    Groundstaff

they cant keep hiding behind the bad weather. The pitch was in great condition, then all of a sudden it's a beach. Something went wrong, and needs investigating. Also this sanding of the pitch, why do we need it if our drainage is so good? Cant believe the experts advised to sand the pitch to the extent that its a beach. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

    Groundstaff

Athough thats the first dodgy goal, that pitch has been costing us points for seasons now. Given the amount of money that's been spent, i think it's time the groundstaff were held accountable.
  13. thought craigan was due to sit one out due to suspension. He seems to be playing the night so when is he due to serve it?
  14. whether St Mirren are awful or not, like Hamilton before, we've struggled against them. First goal is again the key. We need to win, but whether i expct us to get it, i dont know. When did predicting a motherwell performance and result suddenly become easier? Expect the unexpected perhaps should be our moto.
  15. perhaps McCall could redirect those abusive emails to this forum, so we could all discuss Anyone who aint constructive with their criticism deserves to be outed and shamed. Mind you chances of those individuals using their real names..........
  16. Reid is a greeting wee negative bawbag. Any manager that allows his players to dive, cheat, and kick lumps out their opponents, deserve all they get.

    Hamilton

Hard to give it to any of our players for defensive play as hamiton as an attack were poor. Gunning for me as he caused them problems down the left

    Ross Forbes

He was not pants, not brilliant either, but did a job.
  19. Hamilton were dire and that 3 points was a stroll. Never needed to get out of 2nd gear
  20. 30 mins in, on bbc alba coverage and hamilton have offered nothing
  21. good solid win and big pat on back to all.

    Stewards

stewards are a major problem at alot of games. It's getting worse by each passing season. Time the club took action.
  23. switched on the radio and heard Chick Dung moaning about our beach! Just switch on BBC alba and although the pitch aint brilliant, still enough grass on it to wonder about Dungs comments. That fecker should be reminded we got the game on, perhaps he should enquire about St Johnston & Utd. The club needs to grow a set and tell these feckers where to go.
  24. looking at Aberdeen's goal should it not have been ruled offside. Aluko was onside but their other attacker came from behind the motherwell defence and ran towards the ball blocking our defender. Not that it matter tho.
  25. interesting to read the Dons fans aint impressed with Blackman. Seems he aint interested and a bad signing. What a shame.
