Haha, thats fair enough for Old Firm games but Edinburgh and Motherwell are East of Celtic. St Mirren are West of Rangers etc
As you said. All the ferries ar in the west anyway.
Taking up the craig's point. If hampden is supposedly a neutral venue, how come rangers always have the "rangers end" and celtic the "celtic end"? Should it not be decided by the draw etc? Just a question.
There are two ways you can look at things.
Rather than reducing prices to justify a shite product, look at it from the other angle... Improve the product, make it more competitive, give fans what they want and justify the admission prices.
Surely this would be impossible though Mr Doncaster... I mean this would most likely not involve the Old Firm who are the be all and end all of TV revenue
Why is so much credence and defference being given to the Old Firm when every single one of us knows that they would leave our shiny new league at the drop of an EPL/Atlantic hat anyway.
The 10 team league is setting itself up to rely on 4 x Old Firm gate receipts etc. If they do piss off, that plan is then bumped.
As someone on P+B just stated... something doesn't add up.
Doncaster is suggesting EACH team will lose £1M in a 16 team league.
The current deal is only worth £13M per season (£65m over 5 seasons) in a 12 team league, with the o/f taking a bigger proportion than of the money the rest.
The only answer I can suggest which would support his claim is that he meant £1m over 5 years, but we are already mid-way through the deal anyway.
Agree.
What happened to becoming more self-sufficient etc.
The 10 team league idea all revolves around tv money.
This is basically encouraging clubs to continue to be overly reliant on tv money, which is part of the problem which got us here (Setanta etc).
