Was reading through the accounts today and was interested in the revenue for our European games. Income from UEFA was £774,812 for our matches, plus another £210,000 from the UEFA solidarity payments - giving a total of £984,812. Our expenses for competing in the Europa League (travel & hotel costs) were £115,000. So our earnings from our short-lived campaign were £869,812. That's a decent return for the Betfred Cup Group stage alternative.

It's been about 2 months since Celtic beat us 1 - 0 on their own patch. While I'm not expecting points in this game, there is no reason to think we can't compete. The whole "Donnelly is pish" thing is as insightful as the whole "Lamie is pish" thing and the whole "Mugabi is pish" thing. There's no doubt Griffiths was a top class striker. I'd be amazed, however, if he ever performs at that level again as he just isn't managing what appears to be mental health issues. Sadly, I've seen nothing in the past few years that suggests he's likely to fare any better with any other team. On one hand, playing football probably gives him a level of comfort and stability he needs. On the other hand, walking away from football for a year or two to focus entirely on his health might be exactly what he needs.

A bigger mistake if we brought in one that was worse than what we have. And as I've said a few times, it's rare that a Premiership class forward (that we can afford) is available in January. Best case, they come from a lower league and will take 2 months before they are fit enough for 90 minutes.
