  1. Baraclough was a bit hit and miss during his time at Fir Park but he totally out-coached McCall in the play-offs. However, you can't knock the success McCall had for most of his tenure. It was great while it lasted.
  2. Robbo's record is almost identical to McCall, including a couple of cup finals and a 3rd place league finish. I'm not saying he was a great manager for us, but nowhere near the Malpas level. His early stuff was certainly at the same eyebleed standard as Wee Tommy's early days.
  3. A lot depends on the form of the team heading into the playoffs. When Hibs went down to Accies, they were on a major slide. When we saw off Rangers, we'd won 5 and drawn 3 from our last twelve. It was just we hit that upswing too late to avoid 11th. Never want to be in the playoffs again, though.
  4. That's what I've been reading too. I don't think he will be punted, but it's been a tough transition for him. The more reasonable St Mirren fans have been pointing out they have been very streaky all season with a few terrible runs of results, but most aren't fans of what they see as Robbo publicly throwing players under the bus. The league being so tight, his record of Played 7, Won 1, Lost 6 certainly hasn't helped win the fans over. His post-match interviews do sound a bit like the ones he gave when we were struggling. While GA has had plenty of downs in 2022, he's always been pretty consistent in talking about the confidence he has in his group of players to turn things around, even after he's criticised specific performances. Robbo seems to have adopted the opposite approach, which is high risk when you can't bring in any new faces.
  5. Only if Robbo hasn't been sacked by then.
  6. I'd hope he'd come back to us if that was an option.
  7. Don't forget the first goal where Bevis takes the throw-in to Shields who leaves Tait watching him cross to Goss.
  8. He's probably even more bitter after he heard Goodwin wants Dunne at Aberdeen but not him.
  9. At least he's not bitter... I knew he was spectating, but turns out he was spectating at a completely different game.
  10. If you ignore the fact he can't shoot, struggles to beat anyone with the ball at his feet and can't cross beyond the first defender, he's been great. (That might be a little harsh, but it feels like his cross in the Rangers game was the only good one he's made all year). No doubt he's got power and pace, but needs to sharpen up on some of the basics. I said in a earlier thread I'm happy to use him as an impact sub, but I think Efford deserves his start at the moment.
  11. It won't be pretty, but in the last 3 seasons they've only beaten us once (1 - 0). We've won 4 and drawn the other. It's in our own hands, and you can't ask for more than that.
  12. As I mentioned earlier, I always want to Slattery and Goss to start in the midfield as I think that's a good balance of dig and passing. Then the question is who supports that. I know he's not everyone's choice, but I like Maguire in there. In his absence, Cornelius is a good option too.
  13. Thoughts and votes from the goalsmageddon...
  14. The league's been ridiculously close this season. At least between about 4th and 10th. To win our first game in 2022 and shoot up to 5th is crazy.
  15. Crafty from Kev there, taking more time off the clock by blasting it into the stands instead of scoring.
  16. Anyone get 3 - 2 at halftime in the sweep?

  18. Imagine if we hadn't been working on defending corners all week.
  19. Imagine if we hadn't been working on our shooting all week.
  20. Imagine if we hadn't been working on our defending all week.
  21. Wee Al was always going to be impossible to replace, at least with our budget. This is why our development of young players is so important. We need to bring through a quality of player that we could never afford to buy.
