  1. That result means we've taken more points from our last six games than any other team.
  2. Considering our struggles to find Scottish strikers to play at international level, he's definitely worth a look. He offers something different to Dykes and Adams, and that can be an advantage. He needs to maintain his levels, though.
  3. His quote from yesterday regarding scoring and celebrating his goal - "Words can’t describe how this feels, it just feels like home here"
  4. I don't know what the goal tally will be, but I reckon 1 - 1 on red cards is a decent shout.
  5. He's been involved every week. Works hard on and off the ball. Good tackler. Never wastes a pass, has a footballing brain in his head and can take care of himself when things get physical.
  6. If we can get Goss and Slattery fit at the same time, that should give us some quality in the midfield.
  7. Agree about the performance. It's a good sign, however, that GA has instilled a mindset (and a shape) that is getting results while we look for improvement.
  8. Great 3 points from a potential banana skin. Ross County have been close to picking up a result in their past few games, so happy it wasn't from us.
  9. New drinking game - take a shot every time the commentator says "Scotland International" when he mentions Stephen O'Donnell.
  10. Poor defending from the midfield and defence there.
  11. Goals as well. Slattery just gets better every week.
  12. Another different challenge this week against a team that's pushing hard for their first win. Won't be easy, but if was easy we wouldn't need KVV. 3 - 1 to us, flattered by a late goal.
  13. Given that we've only had 2 rounds of inductees and we've had to balance fan votes vs old time legends vs players who are still around to attend the event, I think the mix has been pretty good so far. One of the motivations behind these things is to get the fans talking, arguing and reminiscing about favourite players - and that has been pretty successful too.
  14. He also scored their first ever European goal. So he certainly contributed to their success during that period. Just not a contender at Fir Park.
  15. Also, is there actually a hall, room or display of some kind we can view?
  16. He was good for Dundee Utd. He never regained his form for us post-injury and was pretty bad for most of his Motherwell career.
  17. If they inducted all the greats in the first couple of rounds, we'd be down to John Reilly and Pat Gardner by now.
  18. Maybe this independent review will come up with some creative new ways to generate income and allow gate prices to be reduced. Although while Celtic are posting £11.9 million losses and Rangers seem to need to raise emergency millions every 6 months, I'm not holding my breath. I always point back to the German model for a good example of how to fund a league and look after the fans, but that requires smarter people at the top of the game than we're likely to see in Scotland.
  19. I agree they both deserve a place and I also agree it's often difficult and pointless to compare players from different eras. I'd say guys like Wark are the exception, though. Particularly as he thrived across different eras in the 60s, 70s and 80s.
  20. If you've never seen Joe play it's difficult to explain just how good he was. His timing of a tackle was unequaled, his passing was excellent and he was running up and down the wing before wing-backs were a thing. Despite never shirking tackle, he managed to avoid picking up a yellow card for about 20 years (until some jobsworth ref booked him when we were in the First Division). Also, unusually for full backs in those days, he had great ball skills and used to entertain us during stoppages with a few keepie-uppies and catching the ball on the back of his neck. Most impressive of all, though, was his consistency. He was on top form almost every game for his entire career and his mistakes were incredibly rare.
  21. On one hand I completely agree the prices are far too high. On the other hand, when you see how much a club like ours relies on gate receipts, it makes it a difficult problem to solve. A difficult problem to solve, at least, while the OF still grab the lion's share of existing TV money and other prize pools and our administrators fail to bring in deals of the size that other comparable leagues manage.
  22. Tynecastle Category B games have tickets categorized as Platinum:£30, Gold;£27, Silver:£21 and Bronze: £19.
