I'd be surprised if KVV has another season in Scotland where he scores 10 league goals. If you look at his stats, last season was very much an outlier. I'd be happy to see him back, but I'm not sure he'd be happy to be back with fans expecting him to replicate that form. And if we provide the same level of service we've been providing Mika, he'd be in perma-strop mode.

KVV's last season with us was lightning in a bottle. As much as I loved watching him, I'd be amazed if he manages another season anywhere that's even half as productive. Would still have him back, right enough.

Scored 3 against Ross County, 2 against St Johnstone, 2 against Aberdeen and 1 against Hearts. The goals we conceded in all of those games (and the one conceded against Killie) were nearly all down to comedy defending.

It would be more Motherwell-ish if we put up a good performance for a narrow defeat in this one and then get humped 4 - 1 against Dundee the following week. All I'm looking for here is a better overall shape and focus on good defending. Will certainly be getting plenty of chances to practice.

Only if you ignore all the 23 times in the first half he gave Kingsley a free run with the ball on the right wing. He was much better in the 2nd half when he switched sides.

Spittal was a fish out of water playing left mid in the first half. Bringing on Spencer in the second made a difference. And bringing on Gent to let Spencer play on the right was even better. I'd be looking to start with Gent on the left and Spencer on the right to see how that goes. Those 2 were the ones for me that actually did something today, so I make Spencer my MOTM. The defence is still terrible and I actually think we're missing Mugabi's presence in the air.

An alterntive to Hearts being bad is for us to play better, like when we beat them at Tynecastle.

The thing about goalies is that there are far more good goalies than there are first team starting spots - and they don't even get the outfield players' benefit of coming on for the last 20 mins. So when Kelly does move on, we should be able to ensure we wnd up with a quality starter and a decent backup.

Hearts are one of those teams that we always match up well against, especially at Fir Park. That's why I think we could get a win here. If we decide to play the way we played against Aberdeen, however, then all bets are off. I get the feeling Mika is going to enjoy his first taste of the Jambo experience.

All players have dips in form. With keepers, for some reason, you need to shoot the manager's wife before he'll even consider dropping you. He's saved us more points than he's lost, but if he was a centre half he'd have been on the bench for a few weeks on recent form.

For all his running about and flexing, Casey is a terrible defender.
