  1. Nobody cares if managers are arrogant when they're winning. In fact, they embrace them as being "a character" and "a breath of fresh air". When they aren't winning, fans use their arrogance as the stick to beat them with. As for The Daily Mail, there isn't enough money on the planet that would make me click a link on that publication.
  2. Post a review and ask for a refund.
  3. Stuparevic looked more like a number 10 when I watched him, albeit in a pretty limited number of minutes.
  4. Also need to bear in mind that the training regime (which will be reviewed in great detail every week) will have 70% of them crocked on any given match day.
  5. I would think he'll be backed for that without the Miller millions.
  6. This time of year is always the best, when you can sit out in the sun with a beer and imagine that we might have a good season in store.
  7. Sun's out here too, and I agree 100% with MJC about that training gear. Much better than last season's effort.
  8. Any time I hear a new manager's first interview I remember Mike Tyson's quote about "Everybody has a plan until they're punched in the face" It does sound like we've found someone with similar ideas to Wimmer, so looking forward to seeing what develops. I also read somewhere that he has a previous track record of addressing defensive problems, which sounds like a great fit. By the time we've had our pre-season training, Peterhead won't know what's hit them.
  9. It's easy to say "it's either bullying/harrassment or it's not", but not so easy to implement. That's where "perceived" comes in to play. I doubt there is any need to worry about criticising how the Society is run, or how terrible the team are playing. The "perceived" part also helps deal with individuals who hurl nasty personal abuse (and even threats) at peple and then roll out the "it was only a joke" defence.
  10. Maybe SK has seen the light and is building a team to play an exciting brand of attractive, high tempo, expansive football that we all expect from that bowling green of a Killie pitch.
  11. He was OK in a middling, Championship level Partick Thistle side. Which is about as good as he gets. I'm hoping the new man has better ideas than that.
  12. I hope he got his work permit before that wee grass tried to turn him in.
  13. I'll settle for one than can tackle and stay in position.
  14. Which is a good thing, and what we need when a new manager comes in. Room for some new faces to fit their style.
  15. I'll need convincing McGinn isn't just a recurring injury waiting to happen this season before I considered punting SOD.
  16. I don't think it's anything to do with being a Society, tbh, as the Board runs the club and makes the budgeting and footballing decisions. More to do with the fact that we made poor choices with injury prone players and then had to make do with who was available in January (and we can afford). We did unearth a few good loanees though, like Gent, Spencer and Biereth. Wimmer wanted a squad of about 22 players, and that seems about right to me.
  17. Did the loan rules allow a recall of Connelly last Jan? Regardless, I don't really take much notice of the messaging from the club at this time of year. It's all meaningless until an actual contract is signed and actual clearance obtained.
  18. Who knows? Maybe the new manager will have a training regime that doesn't crock 3 first team players per week.
  19. Of course, the "dialogue" might be "Do you know any good players we can sign?"
  20. Daws doesn't get to offer players new contracts.
  21. Agree about the legacy members. That has always been confusing, even before the monthly contributions arrived. Maybe we can get some clarity at the Society meeting at the end of the month.
  22. So no more "can play anywhere across the front three, number 10 or wingback" signings?
  23. So Paton to to Killie then?
  24. Even if we don't play with fullbacks?
  25. I know it's optimal to get players in early, but it's 12 weeks until the window closes. In particular, if we plan to bring in loans from down south, that usually happens later rather than sooner. As usual, I imagine the first starting lineup in the league cup will bear little resemblance to our starting lineups in September.
