  1. The story I heard is that you're not allowed to broadcast live domestic football when there are Champions League games being played. The English don't care about that, however, and just pay the fines to UEFA. Not sure if it's Sky/BT that cover it or the FA/EPL pay it from their revenues, but either way, they I'm sure they make it all back.
  2. To be fair, Broonie is generally honest. He normally kicks you in front of the referee (because he knows he'll get away with it).
  3. I wouldn't be surprised if we hung onto Cedric a wee longer. I suppose, like other past players, it's a matter of whether he wants to move to a better team and end up on the bench/development squad, or be guaranteed another season of first team football with us. Wouldn't be disappointed with a big transfer fee either, right enough (with plenty of creative add-ons).
  4. My money is on losing Kipre in January rather than the summer.
  5. The problem for Aldred is what will happen if Hartley's fit? He's been a terrific replacement, but if we are intent on playing a back 3, I imagine he's 4th choice behind Hartley, Dunne and Kipre.
  6. Murphy was the consummate pro when he was at Fir Park, so no surprise there. As far as his Rangers connection, I blame the parents.
  7. I don't vote for games I don't attend in person, but Main was the standout for me too. Has been a great signing and kudos to the scouting team for bringing him in.
  8. I don't think refereeing cost us* Poor defending cost us the 2nd goal and if we'd been a bit more clinical we could have been 4 up at half time. As Robinson said in his post-match, we did the exact opposite of what he asked in the first 15 mins of the second half. If we can learn from that, we have a shown that we are capable of beating all 3 teams left in the Cup. Top 6 is gone, but that is 100% due to our dip in form before the break than any points we dropped over the past few weeks. *Not that I'm defending the ref. We can't control that, though - we can control the way we started the 2nd half. Like Robinson also mentioned, it's easy to forget we have a lot of youngsters in the team that are still learning the game.
  9. I had hopes for Moore (especially when he and Erwin were banging in goals in the U20s), but Championship/League One seems to be where he'll have his career.
  10. I suspect that given Robinson's approach, players are being frozen out because, unlike Main, they don't live like a professional footballer. You can't have it both ways. I'd have been happy with 2 draws in the last 2 OF games beforehand, but a little frustrated we didn't win one of them. If nothing else it shows we have nothing to fear if we make it to the Cup Final.
  11. Excellent first half - only minor complaint is I'd like to have seen a 3rd goal that our chances merited. And I don't say that very often in a Rangers game.
  12. I'm watching on the Mobdro app, but cricfree.sc seems to working fine too.
  13. If by bounce match you mean European Championship Qualifier, then yes.
  14. This, plus ending the game with the same number of players we start with.
  15. Playing at Tynecastle would give Aberdeen an advantage as their ploughed field of a pitch is about as bad as the Hearts pitch.
  16. All the people in this thread who have stated a preference for playing at Tynecastle or Easter Road over Hampden (because of lack of atmosphere). There's been a few if you care to browse at your leisure. I think the big pitch at Hampden gives us an advantage with our fitness. We can worry about filling it in the final.
  17. It's amazing how quickly this place turns from "Our cup record in recent years has been appalling" to "I don't want to play at Hampden again".
  18. That's an interesting question. When he moved to France, Sky Sports reported this:
  19. Given they recently posted a £1 million loss (and a £1.5 million loss the previous year) and the fact they made £2.2 million reduction in costs, I'm not sure they have much money to spare. Although I suppose it's possible they see spending a few extra quid as a calculated risk. Their 2 years' worth of relegation parachute payments will be drying up too, so that will put another hole in their budget if they fail to get promoted. And from what I have seen of them this season, they don't look good enough to make the play-off final.
  20. You used to be able to appeal yellow cards too. The reason they scrapped that is because the clubs abused the process. That's why we ended up with this process now (and also why we can't have nice things).
  21. Funnily enough, I was just reading the article on Stuart McCall in The Scotsman today. He talks about Walter Smith threatening not to renew his contract if he played a Scotland game after picking up a dead leg playing for Rangers. (He played anyway). It's an interesting article. I had forgotten the story about McCall being included in the England U21 team as a sub, then wasting time in the last few minutes so he could't get on the pitch - because he changed his mind and wanted to play for Scotland.
  22. Guaranteed to get his debut as soon as he joined one of the ugly sisters - it's an SFA rule. Cracking result too. Let the good times roll.
  23. Unprecedented scenes, according to Twitter. Will be interesting to hear the full story.
  24. Hit the woodwork twice, down to ten men after a pen, equalized short handed, then Killie pull ahead with minutes to go. Sounds like that lucky charm works at the U20 level too.
