  1. While I'm generally in favour of the Board handling the transfer decisions, given our financial standing and the deals already executed this season, this is the kind of decision that should require backing by the Well Society membership. Given the time constraints involved, in reality, that means "no deal".
  2. That covers the 2 league positions addon. Now let's discuss the base transfer fee.
  3. Pretty much this. It's a very unusual situation given the timing of Gordon's injury, the imminent closing of the transfer window and Carson's length of contract. Whatever we valued him at the start of the window should now have a 50% premium added to it + the value of how many league places we think he'll earn us this season. EDIT: How's Rohan Ferguson shaping up? Too early to take a chance? He's certainly had a lot of first team games, albeit in a lower league.
  4. TBF, transfer discussions often don't involve managers talking to each other; it usually happens at the boardroom level. Robinson, for example, said he never spoke to Brendan about the Ciftci move.
  5. I don't know why teams bother with the low ball offers. If there was any chance of us lining up an equivalent replacement, Celtic should make an offer for him and leave Carson where he is.
  6. If the replacement is Randolph, I'm in,
  7. You're right. I read that as "Champions League" rather than Europe.
  8. I'd imagine Craig Gordon will be first choice for Europe when he's fit again,
  9. And the fact that Carson has plenty of contract left to run.
  10. I think Robinson's point was not that we were better team. Just that, as an away team, we created sufficient good chances to have won the game. (Plus, he was bigging us up, which is fair enough).
  11. Mostly Tam Cowan winding him up on Off The Ball, I think. When he was chatting to Tam yesterday he said he'd prefer another stint in Europe.
  12. I think Hibs are a better team, but Hears have been more difficult to beat on their home patch. Lennon has been bemoaning the fact they lack a cutting edge, so hope that continues in this game. For all that, I'd be quite happy with a point.
  13. Nicky Law could have had a fine career if he had moved to a team better than us instead of dropping down to the lower Scottish leagues.
  14. Complete debacle. And if the ref and linesman can't spot 6 players being offside they should be nowhere near the top flight.
  15. Hibs seem to be struggling to take their chances. Hope they don't fix that until Saturday.
  16. And Derek Johnstone for the Rangers games.
  17. I can't believe he even asked for a review at the 3rd. In real time it never looked in doubt.
  18. It's never been the same since we stopped calling them linesman.
  19. I was thinking the exact same thing. As well as killing the flow of the game, there was nothing terrible about the 2 decisions that needed to be overturned. Even in games like American Football, the teams hated it so much the got rid of it for a while until they worked out a way to limit its use. And that's a game where breaks are more natural. This was shaping up to be a cracking game until WBA's 3rd goal was disallowed.
  20. Exactly. And what do they do during the breaks? Go and play more games. I remember the year Dundee Utd played in the UEFA Cup Final. The final itself was something like the 63rd or 64th game their players had played that season. And that didn't include any international appearances.
  21. The biggest losers here are the clubs in Ibiza. As for the players, maybe find a lower paid job where you can work from home.
  22. Wishart is speaking for the PFA - so what he says is what his members ask him to say.
  23. Would have been more entertaining to us (and Hibs) if it hadn't been over, but it looked to me liked to crossed the line.
  24. Cheers. Looks like somebody emptied a bin bag on the pitch at half time.
