  1. The Francis Jeffers role in the St Johnstone semi would certainly do nicely.
  2. The big difference there is that the first two are professional journalists and authors. That's why the quality of sport coverage on telly and radio has been dropping. Sticking a footballer in front of a microphone and expecting them to be insightful isn't likely to produce a good result. Of course there are one or two exceptions, but even after all these years, Gary Lineker still sounds like he's reading from the autocue.
  3. Cifcti's certainly not fit - not surprising given his time away from first team football. But I don't think he looks very fat.
  4. I'm still convinced there's going to be a new manager at Ibrox in the summer. That will mean new players and new ideas. If that happens I'd be mildly surprised to see Murphy still there, never mind Moult. Family reasons were definitely quoted when he headed down south, but money can often change that! He certainly hasn't had the best of time with Preston so far, but that is due in a large part to their big dip in form.
  5. It's no good for anyone in that team. They are on a slide right now. 4 L and 1 W in their last 5. Not exactly play-off form.
  6. I didn't even bother opening mixlr today when I saw he was on.
  7. Don't worry, if you miss the commentary, BBC Alba is showing the Aberdeen game later.
  8. And other times they're John Reilly.
  9. Insightful comment. Will read again.
  10. Crosses. An outball for the defence/midfield. Width. Creates space by pulling players wide. Encourages players to pass to him rather than punt it long to Main. Playing with a wingers stops opposition full backs from advancing as much. Delivers a decent dead ball. Wins penalties. Used to play for my wee team, Forest Green Rovers. Sounds a bit like Ronnie O'Sullivan.
  11. Frear and Tanner will fit in there for starters.
  12. That one in the wrong colours is still my favourite. Partly because I associate it with guys like Brian McLauchlin and Willie Irvine - and winning the first division. Good times.
  13. Robinson's done reasonably well bringing in players with points to prove. Petraviscius fits that mould but he has obviously proved nothing. I think he was more of one for the U20, but seems to have done nothing there either.
  14. The west of Scotland media needs OF controversy to survive. They don't call him out on it because they'd get less readers. Let them fester away in their cesspit of delusion and focus on our own team.
  15. It's been better than last season - which is what most of us wanted. We need to improve again next season though.
  16. The story I heard is that you're not allowed to broadcast live domestic football when there are Champions League games being played. The English don't care about that, however, and just pay the fines to UEFA. Not sure if it's Sky/BT that cover it or the FA/EPL pay it from their revenues, but either way, they I'm sure they make it all back.
  17. To be fair, Broonie is generally honest. He normally kicks you in front of the referee (because he knows he'll get away with it).
  18. I wouldn't be surprised if we hung onto Cedric a wee longer. I suppose, like other past players, it's a matter of whether he wants to move to a better team and end up on the bench/development squad, or be guaranteed another season of first team football with us. Wouldn't be disappointed with a big transfer fee either, right enough (with plenty of creative add-ons).
  19. My money is on losing Kipre in January rather than the summer.
  20. The problem for Aldred is what will happen if Hartley's fit? He's been a terrific replacement, but if we are intent on playing a back 3, I imagine he's 4th choice behind Hartley, Dunne and Kipre.
  21. Murphy was the consummate pro when he was at Fir Park, so no surprise there. As far as his Rangers connection, I blame the parents.
